A Machine Digimon used for nanomedicine. It was originally a Vaccine-type Digimon whose purpose was to restore computers that have crashed, but its neural pathways were destroyed in an attack by a powerful Virus Digimon, causing it to go berserk. It will reconfigure the data in even computers that are in normal working condition to its liking (of course, making a mess out of it), causing them to malfunction. Its specialty is destroying all sorts of data, and as such no matter how formidable a Digimon, the data forming their body can be destroyed by Nanomon with ease. Its Special Move is firing "Plug Bomb" from its fingertips.

Digimon Adventure:[edit]

Nanomon trapped Whamon to force Izumi Koshiro to solve its riddles in "Bolt, Herakle Kabuterimon", threatening to have his Gran Kuwagamon eat Whamon otherwise. It gave him riddles with double meanings, and would take away one of his allies (Yagami Taichi, Agumon and Tentomon, the last one of which he was not able to kidnap) when he is one meaning but not the other, with the intention of turning them all into Nanomon if he lost. Koshiro would end up failing the riddle, but asking Nanomon for one more chance, which he gave him. Thanks to that, Koshiro was able to realize he was inside Whamon, and lured him out through editting footage, so it would look like the newly-evolved Herakle Kabuterimon was running berserk and had set Whamon on fire. Afterwards, Nanomon rode on Gran Kuwagamon, but both were easily defeated by Herakle Kabuterimon. After being defeated, Nanomon's personality suddenly changed, and it showed itself as a big fan of Koshiro, who he had heard about from Wisemon. Taichi then explained that it had been under Soundbirdmon's control, as he had seen the Digimon leave earlier.

Nanomon was briefly mentioned by Wisemon in "The Angels' Determination" as an example of a Digimon that had lost control over itself due to Soundbirdmon's powers, and how it would not happen to them if they were not caught off-guard as Nanomon was.

Digimon Ghost Game[edit]

Nanomon turned the dying Shadramon into a memory seed, which he then fused with Ihara Tamotsu by digitizing his spirit, in "Eternal Memory", as an experiment to obtain the ability to be reborn over and over without losing his memories, which he believed would make his intelligence and existence surpass that of the gods. To make sure his experiment would continue, he hid himself inside Tamotsu's ear. However, the experiment was a failure, and Shadramon sought help to separate himself from Tamotsu, which Nanomon refused to allow, as the experiment was not yet over and could still give him valuable data before he disposed of Shadramon. As such, he controlled the fused Tamotsu/Shadramon through electric shocks from Tamotsu's ear, forcing them to fight their would-be saviors. However, he was ultimately forced out of Tamotsu's ear by an electromagnet created by Tesla Jellymon conducting electricity through Espimon's metallic body parts, and caught in a jar.

Digimon Next[edit]

Nanomon served as the strategist of Barbamon's troops, and saw Kahara Shou and Peckmon as a danger to his position. In order to secure said position, he created a trap for Tatsuno Tsurugi and the rest by posing as an Angewomon that ran hot springs, and flirted with Tsurugi in them. However, he revealed his true self to attack Kitajima Ami and Pitchmon in the hot springs, which were actually machine oil, in order to kill the three Digimon and take their DigiMemories. This caused Pitchmon to evolve into Marin Angemon for the first time, and it proceeded to strip Nanomon and his Hagurumon lackeys of their will to fight, turning them to the good guys' side.[32]

Nanomon and his Hagurumon later join the heroes' side against N.E.O alongside the rest of the ex-Commandments, pointing out that he knows that won't absolve them of their sins[33].

Digimon Adventure[edit]

Nanomon contacted the Chosen Children through an e-mail as Izumi Koshiro hacked into Etemon's Dark Network at the beginning of Episode 24, "Perfect Evolution! Metal Greymon", asking them to save him while promising them information on the Crests in return. Thanks to his guidance, the Chosen Children found the Crest of Hope, and after they did, he told them he'd tell them where the last Crest, the Crest of Love, was after they rescued him.

Inside the Inverted Pyramid, the Chosen Children found Nanomon in a factory-like room where he was being held prisoner inside a transparent pyramid, which itself was inside another transparent, inverted pyramid. Nanomon thanked the Chosen Children for finding him, and explained how he fought against Etemon in the past and was defeated, and afterwards, was made the host of Etemon's network. He then recovered and, without Etemon noticing, was able to interfere in external affairs. However, he was unable to free himself. Takenouchi Sora asked him if he really knew about her Crest, which Nanomon confirmed, as he knew many things even Etemon did not. To free him, Yagami Taichi pulled down a lever as Koshiro manipulated a panel. They succeeded in rescuing Nanomon, however, he only laughed and attacked them, pointing out their role was over and they weren't needed anymore.

Nanomon is the twenty-sixth obligatory boss of the game, fighting the Chosen Children in Episode 24, "Perfect Evolution! Metal Greymon". He can deal multiple hits to one party Digimon with Plug Bomb, deal damage, Break and Shock after being hit by an attack to the Digimon that attacked him with Counter Trap, which continues to be active until his next turn; or inflict Break, Shock, poison and lower stats to all the party with Nano Crash.

After the fight, Nanomon took Sora and Piyomon hostage then ran away into a hidden passageway, proclaiming he'd be able to use their power to its full potential.

A team of the Chosen Children found Nanomon's room past the electrified net they had not crossed before, with Nanomon standing alongside the Sora copy, and Taichi (if chosen by the player) demanded Nanomon let Sora go. However, Piyomon told Taichi that that Sora was a fake, a copy Nanomon made. Nanomon then proclaimed the copy was completed, and that, if given the original's Digivice and Crest, it would become real. Taichi refused to allow it, however.

Nanomon is the twenty-eighth obligatory boss of the game, fighting either Agumon, Tentomon and Gomamon; or Gabumon and Palmon; depending on the player's choice, in Episode 24, "Perfect Evolution! Metal Greymon". Upon being defeated, he drops a DEF Break DigiPiece, which allows the equipped Digimon to perform an attack that lowers the attacked enemy's defense.

After defeating Nanomon, the Chosen Children rescued Sora and got her Digivice and Crest of Love back. Etemon and the other Chosen Children then arrived. Nanomon was not willing to give up his revenge on Etemon, however, and attempted to make everyone disappear into the power of darkness, which made the Inverted Pyramid shake. The Chosen Children escaped through Birdramon, while Etemon threatened to kill Nanomon and Nanomon returned the threat to him, grabbing him, so he could not escape and both would die. However, Etemon survived by fusing with the Dark Network into Etemon Chaos, so only Nanomon perished.
