Digimon World 2[edit]
At the start of the game, Zudokan took Akira to the Blue Falcon HQ to see their Leader. After he told the guard his name (chosen by the player, default Akira), he let them through. As Zudokan then explained to him, Akira just needed to finish this last training mission to become a Guard Tamer and join a Guard Team, so Akira promised to do his best. The duo then entered the Leader's room, where they met with said Leader, Cecilia, who explained Akira's situation to him once again, remarking that defending Digital City was Akira's dream, which got him excited, something Zudokan disagreed with. Regardless, Cecilia gave them their mission: to go to Boot Hole to destroy Leomon, who was hiding there. She then ordered Zudokan to hold back on helping Akira as this was a training mission, and both acknowledged the mission.
Both then went to the Main Gate, where they met with Mission Chief Khalil. Zudokan asked her if his DigiBeetle was ready, which she confirmed then asked Akira if he was done with his training. Akira explained this was his last training mission, and afterwards he'd get his own DigiBeetle. Zudokan asked Akira to be careful with his DigiBeetle then explained that it could take damage as it was closer to a tank than car, with all the equipment and items a Tamer could need. As they left on the Elevator Lift, Khalil wished Akira good luck and warned the two to be careful as the world was full of Wild Digimon outside Digital City.
Zudokan and Akira then moved to Boot Hole inside the former's DigiBeetle. As they continued on the first floor, they fought a Gazimon and a Gizamon with Zudokan's three Digimon: AKAGI the Mega Seadramon, NAOMI the Lilimon and DINOGON the Triceramon. Afterwards, they found a Floor Portal, which Zudokan explained would allow them to move up the floors of a Hole. As such, they moved up to the second floor, where they quickly found paths of Specialty Floor, first Water, then Fire. The latter made Zudokan realize they were close to the Boss Digimon of the Hole. He was correct, as Leomon soon appeared. Leomon arrogantly claimed Akira was a weakling Guard Tamer who couldn't defeat it, but Zudokan encouraged Akira to do it and complete his training mission.
Leomon is the Boss Digimon of Boot Hole. It fights alongside a V-dramon and a Toy Agumon. During the fight, Leomon can use Jūouken, V-dramon can use V-Breath Arrow, and Toy Agumon can use Toy Flame.
After defeating Leomon, the duo found the Exit Portal and returned to Digital City. Back in the Main Gate, Zudokan congratulated Akira on passing his last training mission and encouraged him to join a Guard Team to become a real Tamer. Both then went to Khalil who gave Akira his DigiBeetle (named by the player, default name Zero Gunner), explaining it came with a Steel Body. Zudokan then left Akira.
Afterwards, Akira went to one of the three Leaders in their respective HQ (Vandar of the Silver Cross, Cecilia of the Blue Falcons, or Skull of the Black Sword) to join their Guard Team. In doing so, he received their Mark, proof of being one of their Tamers, a DigiBeetle Browser which allowed them to use their DigiBeetle, and their first Partner Digimon: Agumon (SC), Patamon (BF), or Pico Devimon (BS). He then left the room, where he met with Bertran and Lin Lin Shao. The latter explained they were his teammates. While Lin Lin wanted them to work together as a team, Bertran arrogantly claimed they were Akira's seniors and that, no matter how highly Zudokan thought of his record, that only mattered on training missions and he could never measure up to him, the best Tamer in the City.
As his first proper mission, Akira left for Serial Hole. In its last floor, 4F, he confronted its Boss Digimon, Hagurumon, who wanted to crush him, though Akira was unfazed by it.
Hagurumon is the Boss Digimon of Serial Hole. It fights alone. During the fight, it can use Darkness Gear.
Akira then returned to his HQ and reported his success to his Leader, who congratulated him on a job well done and remarked his potential as a Tamer then ordered him to destroy the Boss Digimon of Plotter Hole and Resist Hole, who united a large amount of Wild Digimon and were expected to go into the offensive. Back outside, he met with Bertran and Lin Lin Shao once again. The former chalked Akira's success to luck and, after Lin Lin called him out on it, left in rage while claiming he'd never lose to him. Lin Lin tried to de-escalate the situation by explaining to Akira that Bertran saw him as his rival, which made Akira want to beat Bertran too.
In the Main Gate, Bertran told Akira about Angemon, who led a group of peace-loving Digimon. However, Bertran wondered why the Wild Digimon didn't attack them, which made him doubt this was true. Lin Lin Shao told Akira about Meridin Dome, where said non-Wild Digimon hid. However, she didn't know where it was.
In the Digimon Center, Akira met with Klon Gander of the Black Swords, who had heard about Akira and his skills from Zudokan and gave him a Toy Plane, the strongest Gift in the game that worked on any Digimon. Akira could also trade Yuki Agumon for Toy Agumon there.
Akira then went to Plotter Hole. In its last floor, 5F, he confronted its Boss Digimon, Cockatrimon, who thought Akira was there to steal its shining treasure. Akira explained he had no knowledge of that and was there to destroy the Wild Digimon that were a menace to the City. This only angered Cockatrimon further, who challenged Akira.
Cockatrimon is the Boss Digimon of Plotter Hole. It fights alone. During the fight, Cockatrimon can use Allergy Shower and Petra Fire.
After defeating Cockatrimon, Akira found and took its "shining treasure", the Dynamo Part.
Akira's next destination was Resist Hole. In its last floor, 5F, he found Numemon, who loved how dark and damp Holes were and wished the entire world was like that. It then identified Akira as an intruder in its paradise but thought he was part of Meridin Dome who had come to rescue Angemon. Akira ignored all it said as he was too disgusted about Numemon itself.
Numemon is the Boss Digimon of Resist Hole. It fights alongside a Scumon and a Pico Devimon. During the fight, Numemon and Scumon can use Unchi and Pico Devimon can use Pico Darts.
While he won, Akira pointed out how hard the battle had been. He then remembered Numemon's words about Meridin Dome and Angemon. Further into the floor, he found said Angemon, who recognized him as a Guard Tamer from the City. Akira was surprised that Angemon wasn't a Wild Digimon and introduced himself to it. Angemon explained that Numemon had captured it and blackmailed its friends in Meridin Dome, which was a place where Digimon who hadn't gone Wild could gather, and Numemon intended to force them to attack the City. To thank Akira for stopping Numemon's plans, Angemon invited him to Meridin Dome, then left the Hole.
With both Boss Digimon destroyed, Akira went back to his Leader, who was surprised at how fast Akira cleared the mission. The Leader then explained that they had received a message from the peace-loving Digimon of Meridin Dome, saying they would help the Guard Tamers of Digital City. The Leader pointed out that it'd be great if merely wishing for peace was enough, but sometimes, fighting was needed to protect said peace, and that was their job. The Leader then sent Akira to talk to other Tamers in the Tamer Club to exchange information.
There, Akira talked to Arc Schultz of the Silver Cross, who he thought seemed like a good person to talk to. Schultz knew about Akira from Zudokan and Akira asked him how he could become as good as his mentor. However, Schultz didn't know and would want that answer too. Akira apologised for his question but Schultz was fine with it since it proved how serious Akira was about becoming a good Tamer, even if that was not something he could just learn from anyone. However, what Schultz could tell Akira was the location of a Hole he had found with a Boss Digimon in it. Akira wondered why Schultz didn't take care of it himself and he explained that he had messed up Jogress Evolving his Digimon and lost all of his attack techniques, which caused him to be defeated in the last Hole he went to. As such, he wanted to focus on raising his Partner Digimon for a while. After Akira confirmed he'd go to the new Hole, Schultz gave him a Toy Plane and the location data of Packet Hole.
Before going to Packet Hole, however, Akira went to Meridin Dome. There, he met not only with Angemon, who gave him 2000 BITs, but also Bertran.
While going up the floors in Packet Hole, Akira surprisingly found a Metal Greymon. Akira wanted to make it his Partner as it was a Perfect Digimon, but Metal Greymon merely ran away. Going up to the last floor, 6F, Akira found the level 21 Metal Greymon once more. Deeper in, he found the Hole's Boss Digimon, Centalmon, who mocked Akira's youth and inexperience.
Centalmon is the Boss Digimon of Packet Hole. It fights alongside a Gabumon and a Starmon. During the fight, Centalmon can use Hunting Cannon, Gabumon can use Petit Fire, and Starmon can use Meteor Squall.
Back in HQ, Akira's Leader congratulated him for clearing the last three Holes. The Leader then gave him an Entry Pass which would allow him to enter the Tamer Ranking Tournaments in the Colosseum, not to win or lose but to sharpen his skills through battle. The Leader then explained that their spies had found that Wild Digimon were gathering in Dynamo Hole and Proxy Hole, so Akira was to go and destroy their Boss Digimon.
Outside the Room, Akira found Factory Manager Maisto who entered the HQ and ordered to turn off the Item Making Machines. He then went to the Leader and explained that the City's Power Generator had gone offline and, while they repaired it, had switched to a spare that couldn't supply the City's entire power needs so they had to shut off the Item Making Machines, which used the most energy. The Leader accepted this but asked why the Power Generator had failed so suddenly. Akira, who joined the conversation, agreed with the question. Maisto was just as confused about it as their last checkup had found no errors, and instead it seemed like several Parts were stolen but he didn't know who was behind it or why. Akira offered to find the culprit, which both adults agreed to.
To find out the culprit, Akira then went to the Tamer Club. There, he found Ayumi talking to herself about going back to Device Dome and how her sister Dorandona wanted her to get the Generator Parts. After realizing Akira was looking at her, Ayumi got mad at him, then left, while Akira was left wondering if Ayumi knew about the theft. He then went to Meridin Dome, where Angemon explained that Device Dome was created by the people who left Digital City during the Blood Knights revolt that happened 30 years ago in the City, at the same time the Digimon of Meridin Dome left as well. However, because all of them hid, Angemon didn't know where Device Dome was. That said, he did know about Ayumi, as she stayed in Meridin Dome from time to time, and in fact had done so recently. There, she asked Angemon about where Ancient Artifacts were dug out so Angemon told her about Dynamo Hole and Proxy Hole.
With two reasons to go there, Akira then went to Dynamo Hole. On its 7th floor, Akira met its Boss Digimon, Birdramon, who thought Akira was a fool who didn't care about his own life if he challenged it. Akira proudly stated he was a Guard Tamer and ordered Birdramon to allow itself to be peacefully captured or he'd be forced to destroy it, so Birdramon threatened to burn him up instead.
Birdramon is the Boss Digimon of Dynamo Hole. It fights alongside a Flare Lizamon and a Candmon. During the fight, Birdramon can use Meteor Wing, Flare Lizamon can use Flame Hit, and Candmon can use Bonfire.
After destroying Birdramon, Akira found the Converter on the ground, then went back to Digital City. From there, he entered Proxy Hole, where he found its Boss Digimon, Kuwagamon, also in the 7th floor. Kuwagamon called Akira a puny little Guard Tamer then dared him to face it.
Kuwagamon is the Boss Digimon of Proxy Hole. It fights alongside a Gesomon and a Octmon. During the fight, Kuwagamon can use Scissor Arms and Electric Thread, Gesomon can use Deadly Shade, and Octmon can use Kaimei Bokujū.
As usual, after defeating both bosses, Akira went back to his Leader, who praised him and stated that he'd make their Guard Team famous. However, he also pointed out they hadn't found the Generator Parts thief. Continuing said search, Akira returned to Meridin Dome, where Angemon told Akira that Orgemon had told Ayumi about Buffer Hole.
Akira did find Ayumi eventually in Buffer Hole 7F, riding her own DigiBeetle. She complained about finding nothing in the floor they were in. Akira called to her and, after introducing himself, asked her about the Generator Parts. Ayumi instantly refused having stolen the Parts or that she knew anything about them, then ran away. Greymon then confronted Akira in the highest floor, 8F. Rather than being merely a Boss Digimon, Greymon introduced himself as the King Digimon of Buffer Hole and ordered Akira to kneel before it, then attacked Akira when he refused.
Greymon is the Boss Digimon of Buffer Hole. It fights alongside a Saberdramon and a Toy Agumon. During the fight, Greymon can use Mega Flame, Saberdramon can use Meteor Wing, and Toy Agumon can use Toy Flame.
After the fight, Akira kept going deeper into the floor, where he met with Ayumi once more. Ayumi ordered Akira to stop following her and Akira ordered her in turn to return the Generator Parts. Ayumi refused, however, and dared Akira to take them back by force.
Ayumi is the true boss of Buffer Hole. She uses a team of Wizarmon, Seadramon, and Akatorimon. During the fight, Wizarmon can use Thunder Cloud and Necro Magic, Seadramon can use Ice Arrow, and Akatorimon can use Turbo Rooster and Petra Fire.
After the fight, Ayumi acknowledged Akira's strength and asked him for his name, despite having been told already. Akira returned the compliment. Ayumi asked Akira to go to Device Dome later so she could return the Generator Parts to him, as she always intended to do. She then left, though not before telling Akira that she had already sent the location of Device Dome to his DigiBeetle Browser.
Back in HQ, Akira explained the situation to his Leader, who ordered Akira to get the Parts ASAP, before the other Guard Teams could. Akira then went to Device Dome. There, Ayumi told him that her sister had already sent an engineer to the City with the Generator Parts and the Power Generator should be fixed now. She then took Akira to said sister, Dorandona, who immediately remarked how cute Akira was. She then apologised for the trouble Ayumi caused, but explained she needed the Parts for a new Radar System. She also gave Akira a Titanium Core as compensation as well as a bribe for if she ever needed the Generator Parts again. Ayumi explained to Akira that he could use the Titanium Core to upgrade his DigiBeetle from a Steel Body to a Titanium Body.
Akira then went back to his Leader, who explained to him how the Power Generator was restored by Device Dome engineers. The Leader then gave Akira 2000 BITs as a reward for both eliminating the previous Boss Digimon and solving the City's crisis. Afterwards, they suggested Akira should increase his Tamer Rank in the Colosseum.
As such, Akira then went to the Colosseum. There, he joined the Rank 2 tournament, whose rounds were:
- Bertran, with Toy Agumon, Patamon and Gizamon
- Lin Lin Shao, with Bakumon, Ganimon and Kunemon
- Esmeralda, with Tentomon, Piyomon and Bakumon. She was surprised to see both of them had gotten so far.
He then joined the Rank 3 tournament, whose rounds were:
- Yaruyaru, with Elecmon, Gottsumon and Floramon. He called Akira a wuss to his face and thought he'd have an easy win.
- Ototate Shina, with Otamamon, Pico Devimon and Gazimon. She thought she got to the second round only by luck and asked Akira to go easy on her.
- Bertran, with Raremon, Gabumon and Penmon. After his defeat, Bertran was left fuming, having lost to his rival not once but twice.
Now a Rank 3 Rookie Tamer, Akira went back to his Leader to show his achievement. Said Leader was aware of it already and told Akira about a group of Wild Digimon that had moved close to the City from deep in Directory Continent. However, before an actual mission could be given, the Security Guard entered the room to report that the Blood Knights had been spotted and a Guard Tamer was engaged in battle with a Blood Knight DigiBeetle. Furthermore, they were seen in three Holes: Resist Hole, Plotter Hole and Serial Hole. With them back, the Leader ordered to begin Operation Blood Knights. After Akira asked the Leader what the Blood Knights were, they explained that they were a mysterious army that attacked Digital City 30 years ago. Akira thought they had all been captured in that battle, but only most of them were in reality, as their leader, Crimson, as well as some officers escaped to somewhere deep in Directory Continent. While the Leader knew how strong the Blood Knights were, they believed that they had nothing to fear if all three Guard Teams joined forces. The Leader then asked Akira to find and destroy the Blood Knights hidden in the three Holes.
Back outside, Akira met with Bertran and Lin Lin Shao, now accompanied by Luckyta. Bertran was sure he could take care of the Blood Knights alone, then introduced Luckyta, a new member of the Team to Akira. He also introduced Akira to Luckyta as a good Tamer, but not as good as Bertran himself. Luckyta did not share Bertran's arrogance, however, and politely introduced himself to Akira and stated he would train hard to be a cool Tamer like Bertran and Akira. Bertran acknowledged Luckyta's potential, although he also denied Akira's own, told Akira to train if he didn't want to fall behind Luckyta, then both left to explore a Hole. Lin Lin Shao wondered why Bertran had to constantly be mean to Akira and asked him if he had bought everything he needed, but Bertran wasn't listening to her anymore.
To destroy the Blood Knights, Akira then went to Serial Hole. In its 6th floor, he confronted a Blood Knights Officer. He was surprised the Guard Tamers had found them already and decided that destroying them was more of a priority than finding the Archive Ship, though Akira was not scared of him.
The Blood Knights Officer is the boss of Serial Hole. He uses a team of Dark Lizamon, Bakemon and Deltamon. During this fight, Dark Lizamon can use Dark Inferno and Fire Blast, Bakemon can use Death Charm, and Deltamon can use Triplex Force.
Afterwards, Akira went to Plotter Hole. The Blood Knights Officer at the last floor wondered how the Wild Digimon of the Hole left a kid through, which angered Akira.
The Blood Knights Officer is the boss of Plotter Hole. He uses a team of Raremon, Devimon and Soulmon. During this fight, Raremon can use Hedoro, Devimon can use Death Claw, and Soulmon can use Thunder Cloud.
Finally, Akira went to Resist Hole. In Floor 7, he met with Bertran, who was surprised Akira got that far but refused to let him through as he had cornered the Blood Knight Officer and wanted to be the one to capture him.
Bertran is a boss of Resist Hole. He uses a team of Vegimon, Garurumon and Gabumon. During this fight, Vegimon can use Branch Drain, Garurumon can use Foxfire, and Gabumon can use Petit Fire.
Bertran was shocked about his defeat and couldn't understand what he did wrong. He then pretended he had gone easy on Akira and angrily left, allowing Akira passage to the deepest part of the Hole, where he found himself face to face with Damedabose, who wondered what had happened to Bertran. Akira was ready to destroy Damedabose, but he merely laughed at the Guard Tamer as he introduced himself as the invincible Don of the Blood Knights and decided to beat Akira to make an example out of him to the rest of the Guard Tamers. However, his attitude merely made Akira doubt if he truly was a high-ranking member of the Blood Knights.
Damedabose is the true boss of Resist Hole. He uses a team of Platinum Scumon, Waru Monzaemon and Nanimon. During this fight, Platinum Scumon can use Trance Mesmer, Waru Monzaemon can use Heartbreak Attack, and all three of them can use Unchi.
Damedabose was shocked at his defeat but Akira was just left thinking he was too weak for a boss. Damedabose angrily told him to shut up and how he was letting him go this time but not the next, so he should train hard, before leaving. Akira could not stop him and was left doubtful about Damedabose's claims. He then found the Red Orders on the floor, an order to search for the Archive Ship, which he took.
Akira then returned to his Leader to show them the Red Orders. After the Leader reacted to the Archive Ship, Akira asked them what that was, and they explained that it was a ship used by their forefathers to escape File Island. However, Akira thought that was just a myth. The Leader, now convinced of how evil the Blood Knights' plan was, angrily ordered Akira to find out where the Archive Ship was ASAP, and to do so, sent him to talk to Professor Hyotto who studied the Archive Ship.
Outside the Leader's Room, Bertran told Akira that his team got the order to find the Blood Knights' front-line base, which he was sure he could easily do if he got serious. Lin Lin Shao ordered him to buy an Anti-Freeze Disk and make sure his equipment was in order to avoid repeating an earlier issue, though Bertran bluffed that he had just been playing around back then. Luckyta then joined them with the Anti-Freeze Disk Bertran was meant to buy, so the trio left, with Lin Lin Shao angry at how Bertran refused to grow.
After getting information in Digital City, Akira learned that Professor Hyotto was in Device Dome, so he met with the Professor there and asked him about the location of the Archive Ship. Hyotto was willing to trade the information for three specific Digimon: Yanmamon, Shakomon, and Ikkakumon; and sent him to talk to Getdas to find out where they lived. After obtaining them, Hyotto confessed he didn't need the Digimon for his research and this was a test for Akira. He apologized for it and hoped Akira wasn't offended. He then told Akira to go to Ben Oldman for the Archive Ship, as he knew a lot about the old days though he was hard to deal with.
As he didn't know where said man was, Akira went back to his Leader and told them about him. The Leader pointed out Ben Oldman was a previous Blue Falcon Leader and weren't surprised he'd know about the Archive Ship. However, they also didn't know where Ben Oldman was, but believed someone must. Factory Manager Maisto then entered the room to tell the Leader about a strange sickness breaking out among the Digimon that caused Digimon to steal items from the Main Server. Akira told him that he had found Junk Parts in his Tool Box, making Maisto realize that the stolen items had turned into Junk Parts and that at least one of Akira's Digimon was infected. The Leader wondered if the Blood Knights were responsible for the sickness but couldn't understand how, as the sickness seemed to awaken a Digimon's wild instincts. Maisto didn't know but knew they had to do something before every Digimon in the City became wild. He then left to talk to the other Guard Teams. For their part, the Leader banned Akira from entering their room or any Colosseum Tournaments to stop the sickness from infecting more Digimon. Akira found it unfair but the Leader merely told him to solve the mystery if he did.
As such, Akira went back to Professor Hyotto and explained the situation to him. The Professor found it funny, to Akira's annoyance, then took Akira's DigiBeetle Browser to examine his Digimon. With that, Hyotto found something incredible: Akira's Digimon's DNA structure was showing a mutation or evolution, causing them to go wild, and he couldn't understand how Digimon DNA, made of 0s and 1s, could evolve. Akira asked him to focus on how to solve it rather than his scientific curiosity. Hyotto needed 3 Digital DNA Patches from Digimon with strong will power that could resist going wild to do so, one from each Attribute (Vaccine, Data, Virus). He could then use them to create a Wild Code that suppressed a Digimon's wild instincts.
Such Digimon could be found on Meridin Dome, so Akira went there. Angemon allowed him to take the Digital DNA Patches from the Digimon of the Dome if it meant helping their comrades. Clockmon gave Akira the Data Patch for a Digivice and Were Garurumon gave Akira the Vaccine Patch after meditating together for a while. However, there were no Virus Digimon in Meridin Dome at the time, as Orgemon had left for Device Dome. There, Ayumi gave Akira Orgemon's Virus Patch. With all three Patches, Professor Hyotto created the Wild Patch and healed Akira's Digimon.
With the mystery solved and now no longer a risk, Akira went back to his Leader and explained to them both the issue and its solution. While the Leader was glad they could now protect the Digimon in the City, they still wondered why Digimon DNA suddenly began to change. The Security Guard then entered the Leader's room to tell them that the Blood Knights had been spotted again. As such, the Leader ordered Akira once more to find the Archive Ship as soon as possible and uncover the Blood Knights' plot.
To do so, Akira went to Packet Hole. The Blood Knights Officer there swore to not allow the Guard Tamers to stop them and to defeat Akira, before hailing Crimson.
The Blood Knights Officer is the boss of Packet Hole. He uses a team of Clockmon, Tankmon and Drimogemon. During this fight, Clockmon can use Chrono Breaker, Tankmon can use Hyper Cannon, and Drimogemon can use Drill Spin.
Akira then went to Proxy Hole. The Blood Knights Officer there was looking all around for the Archive Ship, wanting to find it before the Guard Tamers got to the "legendary island". After spotting Akira, the Officer decided to silence Akira as he had heard their grand plan.
The Blood Knights Officer is the boss of Proxy Hole. He uses a team of Devidramon, Skull Greymon and Dark Tyranomon. During this fight, Devidramon can use Crimson Nail and Death Claw, Skull Greymon can use Ground Zero, and Dark Tyranomon can use Fire Blast.
Finally, Akira went to Dynamo Hole. The Blood Knights Officer there had already heard of Akira and wanted to destroy Akira, both as revenge for his comrades and for a promotion into Executive Officer. Akira was unfazed, however, as he was sure he could defeat the Officer.
The Blood Knights Officer is the boss of Dynamo Hole. He uses a team of Airdramon, Garudamon and Yanmamon. During this fight, Airdramon can use Spinning Needle, Garudamon can use Shadow Wing and Meteor Wing, and Yanmamon can use Thunder Ray.
Akira then went to Device Dome, where Ayumi told him about a machine she was repairing but it had something she couldn't understand, so she asked Akira to get her a Tankmon from Proxy Hole, whose Power Converter would let her perfect the machine. After obtaining one, Akira transferred it to Ayumi's DigiBeetle Browser. Ayumi was glad since she could use its data to fix the machine's energy system and gave Akira an EXP Chip as his reward. With that, Ayumi activated the machine, which after stuttering for a moment, identified itself as GAIA, then vaguely stated something about using Digimon to conquer the world.
Afterwards, Akira returned to his HQ, where the Security Guard told him that Luckyta kept walking back and forth. Luckyta worried about whether to report something to the Guard Leader and what to report. While he said there was nothing wrong to Akira, he still asked him for his time in the Tamer's Room. There, Luckyta finally confessed that Bertran and Lin Lin Shao may be in danger. He explained they had gone together to Buffer Hole, where they found an X-Mech Part with the Blood Knights symbol on it, which made them keep going. However, when they realized the Hole went deeper than 7 floors, they decided that Luckyta would go back with Auto Pilot while Bertran and Lin Lin Shao continued. However, they never came back, and Luckyta wasn't sure if to report it or not. Akira thought they may have been captured and Buffer Hole may be the Blood Knights' HQ as they had no information on it. Akira then took on the job of rescuing them while Luckyta reported the situation, and the latter gave the former the Part they had found.
As Luckyta had stated, Buffer Hole had more than 7 floors. The lowest floor was now Floor 10, where Akira found Lin Lin Shao in her pink DigiBeetle. She had clearly gone mad, as she kept talking about how everything was spinning and laughing at it, then attacked Akira as she saw his DigiBeetle as a Blood Knights one.
Lin Lin Shao is a boss of Buffer Hole. She uses a team of Raremon, Monzaemon and Igamon. During this fight, Raremon can use Hedoro and Poison S-mush, Monzaemon can use Lovely Attack and Heartbreak Attack, and Igamon can use Iga-ryū Shuriken Nage and Implant.
After defeating Lin Lin Shao, she came back to her senses. She had no memories of what had happened, only that she was chasing an enemy DigiBeetle. Akira explained she had probably walked into a trap and Luckyta had asked him to get them. He then asked her where Bertran was, since he thought they were together. Lin Lin Shao explained he had kept chasing the Blood Knights DigiBeetle all by himself. Akira offered to go look for him while Lin Lin Shao went back to the City and she accepted as her DigiBeetle was nearly out of energy and ammo, though not before asking him to find Bertran.
Deeper into the floor, Akira did find Bertran, who also had lost himself and was terrified, thinking he was in a dark and cramped place. Bertran then attacked Akira in fear as he thought Akira was a ghost who wanted to catch him.
Bertran is a boss of Buffer Hole. He uses a team of Digitamamon, Deramon and Tankmon. During this fight, Digitamamon can use Mega Heal, Deramon can use Royal Nuts and Unchi, and Tankmon can use Friendly Fire.
After the fight, Akira screamed at Bertran to wake up. While he still kept crying for a moment, he then recovered himself, and was left in the same state of confusion as Lin Lin Shao before. He remembered fighting an enemy DigiBeetle then he heard a weird sound and everything went dark. Akira explained he walked into an enemy trap and passed out. Bertran attempted to leave to destroy the Blood Knights DigiBeetle that had hit him with that sound, but ran out of EP, leaving Akira exasperated at his recklessness.
With both of his teammates safe, Akira continued onwards and finally found the Blood Knights Officer that had driven the other two mad. The Blood Knights Officer bragged that Akira had walked into his trap as his DigiBeetle had a beam generating device that caused craziness, and Akira should now be suffering from a terrible headache that would make him pass out and go insane. However, Akira was completely unaffected. The Officer was confused as to why the device didn't work on Akira when it had worked on Bertran and Lin Lin Shao, then realized that Akira must've picked up the Beam Neutralizing Device he lost, the very same part Luckyta had given Akira earlier. Out of options, the Officer decided to destroy Akira himself.
The Blood Knights Officer is the boss of Buffer Hole. He uses a team of Mamemon, Metal Mamemon and Guardromon. During this fight, Mamemon can use Smiley Bomb, Metal Mamemon can use Energy Bomb and Guardromon can use Destruction Grenade.
With Bertran and Lin Lin Shao rescued, Akira went back to the City. In the HQ, Luckyta thanked Akira for saving them and pledged to train hard to become a great Tamer like him and Bertran. In the right room, Lin Lin Shao also thanked Akira, though Bertran instead claimed he could've gotten out by himself. Lin Lin Shao didn't let the comment slide, however, and called him out on being too proud to accept the truth, which angered Bertran. Akira decided to ignore their argument and instead asked Lin Lin Shao about Ben Oldman. To that, she explained that he lived all alone and refused to move to the City despite her insistence about it, then sent Akira his address, Archive Port.
There, Akira met with Ben Oldman. After explaining who he was and how he knew about him, Akira asked him about the Archive Ship. Ben Oldman refused to answer to someone he didn't know, even after Akira explained that his life was in danger as the Blood Knights were looking for it too, so instead Ben Oldman challenged Akira to fight him in Old Hole, a Hole with only a single floor and only Ben Oldman himself as an enemy. There, the elder praised Akira's guts, which he thought uncommon in present kids, and promised to apologize if Akira could defeat him.
Ben Oldman is the boss of Old Hole. He uses a team of Centalmon, Metal Mamemon and Meramon. During this fight, Centalmon can use Hunting Cannon, Metal Mamemon can use Energy Bomb and Meramon can use Burning Fist and Meteor Squall.
After their fight, Ben Oldman asked Akira his name and, as he promised, apologized for insulting him, blaming his competitive nature, then told Akira to go back to Archive Port, where he'd tell him everything and watch him grow. There, Ben Oldman whined about losing to a kid but honoured his promise, explaining that the Archive Ship was a huge turtle Digimon in the big junk pile, too damaged to work. Akira couldn't understand why the Blood Knights were so interested in that and Ben Oldman didn't know either, though he guessed it may be because the Archive Ship had many old items so there may be something useful there. Ben Oldman then told Akira to call the security guards from the City to guard the place and gave him the data of a Hole Crimson had discovered when he was a Guard Tamer, guessing he may be there. Akira thanked Ben Oldman and saluting him, making him nostalgic as no one had done that for him for a long time, when he was the Blue Falcon Leader.
Back with his own Leader, Akira notified them about finding Ben Oldman and how he was living in the broken-down Archive Ship. Regardless of its state, the Leader accepted sending Guard Tamers to protect it. Akira then told the Leader about the map of the Hole Crimson had found in the past and the Leader offered obtain its exact location using that map and the latest geographical data. Determining it to be Ergono Hole, the Leader sent Akira there to destroy the Blood Knights.
Akira met again with Damedabose in the 11th floor of Ergono Hole. Both remembered each other, and Damedabose then praised Akira's luck for finding Ergono Hole only to point out said luck had run out as he would now defeat Akira. Akira was unfazed though and sure he'd win again, though Damedabose claimed he had just been playing around last time.
Damedabose is the boss of Ergono Hole. He uses a team of Etemon, Jyureimon and Orgemon. During this fight, Etemon can use Love Serenade, Jyureimon can use Cherry Bomb, and Orgemon can use Haouken.
Damedabose was shocked at his loss and decided to "let off" Akira for his braveness this time, promising it'd be the last. Akira was surprised that such a coward was a high-ranking Blood Knight.
Back in HQ, the security guard alerted Akira about how the Blood Knights had attacked Archive Port and injured Ben Oldman. In fear, Akira immediately went to Archive Port, where a Blue Falcon Tamer told him that Ben Oldman had gone to the City to meet with the Guard Team Leaders. Akira was glad he was fine and went back to the City, where the same security guard admonished him for rushing off without letting him finish talking, then explained that Ben Oldman had only gotten minor injuries and was talking with their Leader now. Akira entered the Leader's Room, where Ben Oldman explained that he was too tough to let the Blood Knights harm him but they had stolen the Navi-Disk from the Pilot Radar system, which the Leader explained held all the navigation map data from File Island to Directory Continent, which meant that the Blood Knights could now find where File Island was. Akira thought File Island was a myth but the Leader explained that it existed and it was where their ancestors escaped from after losing to the evil prince of the Wild Digimon. They then arrived to Directory Continent, where they formed Guard Teams and started training Tamers to retake File Island. Akira didn't understand why the Blood Knights would be interested in returning to File Island, which the Leader admitted they didn't know, but they could find out by interrogating Crimson personally, as they now knew he was in Decode Hole, where Akira was to go to capture Crimson.
Akira then went to Device Dome, where Ayumi complained that GAIA did nothing but mumble weird things. GAIA itself claimed to be almighty and out of control.
Akira and Damedabose clashed for the third time in Decode Hole 11F. Damedabose claimed that, the moment he learned a Tamer had Decode Hole, he knew it had to be Akira, his archenemy, and claimed he'd stop him. Akira, from his part, was just tired of Damedabose.
Damedabose is a boss of Decode Hole. He uses a team of Atlur Kabuterimon, Pinochimon and Red Vegimon. During this fight, Atlur Kabuterimon can use Thunder Ray and Horn Buster, Pinochimon can use Bullet Hammer, and Red Vegimon can use Hazard Breath.
Damedabose repeated the same act as always after his latest defeat. He also refused to acknowledge he was running away and justified it as a tactical retreat, which Akira was too dumb to understand. One floor later, Akira finally met with Crimson, who was surprised Akira came so far then introduced himself, having learned of Akira from Damedabose. He acknowledged Akira's outstanding power but thought he wasted it by not knowing how to properly apply it. Akira disagreed, as he used his power to protect everyone's peace as a member of a Guard Team. Crimson dismissed both peace and Guard Teams as illusions, proclaimed himself to be the only one who could light up the light of truth over their world of illusions, and challenged Akira to see if he had the power to regain the Real World alongside him.
Crimson is a boss of Decode Hole. He uses a team of Ex-Tyranomon, Skull Mammon and Deltamon. During this fight, Ex-Tyranomon can use Pretty Attack, Skull Mammon can use Enigma, and Deltamon can use Triplex Force.
After the fight, Crimson acknowledged Akira's strength but stated he hadn't used all of his power as he was merely testing him. He didn't want to destroy Akira, however, and instead asked Akira to join him and the Blood Knights so his power would be used for Crimson's grand plan. Akira refused as he fought for peace. Crimson accepted there was no point in trying to convince him as he didn't know the truth and decided to have his Digimon crush Akira instead. Before it happened, however, a Blood Knights Officer showed up and asked him to pull back as Birdramon had assembled their troops and they were waiting for Crimson's orders to begin their operation, so the Officer would take over Crimson there. Crimson accepted that was more important, even if he wanted to beat Akira up personally, so he challenged Akira to follow him to File Island where they'd finish their battle and gave him the Navi-Disk so he could do so before leaving. Akira accused him of cowardice but the Officer pointed out Crimson didn't have the time to deal with Akira so he'd do so himself instead
The Blood Knights Officer is the boss of Decode Hole. He uses a team of Tuskmon, Vademon and Cyclomon. During this fight, Tuskmon can use Panzer Knuckle, Vademon can use Deadly Shade and Kaimei Bokujū, and Cyclomon can use Hyper Heat.
After defeating this last enemy, Akira swore to hunt down Crimson, no matter where he went.
Akira apologized to his Leader and Ben Oldman for failing to capture Crimson. Both agreed he would get more chances, with Ben Oldman adding he just needed to go to File Island, which he could do by fixing the Emergency Pod of the Archive Ship using the Ship Key, the stolen Navi-Disk, and three other Ship Parts. Luckily, not only did Akira get the Navi-Disk from Crimson, he had also obtained the Ship Parts earlier in a Hole, though he didn't know what they were as they were very old. With that known, Akira promised to find the Ship Key. The Leader thought that, if said key was in a Hole, other Digimon may know about it, while Ben Oldman decided to return to Archive Port to prepare the Pod Ship.
As he needed to talk to Digimon, Akira then went to Meridin Dome, where he asked Angemon about the Ship Key. Angemon told him about a Digimon who collected all kinds of items that happened to be in Meridin Dome at the time. Said Digimon, Agumon, quickly joined them, so Angemon asked him about the Ship Key. Agumon had heard about it but couldn't remember from where. It promised to tell Angemon as soon as it remembered and left to check its collection of items.
Akira then returned to Digital City. In the Colosseum, Leomon, who had heard Akira intended to go to File Island, asked him to tell Master Tyranomon that he would go to see him one day, as he dreamed of having a match against the legendary fighter. In the Digimon Center, Akira found Agumon once more. Agumon had been looking for him as it had found the Ship Key among its items.
With the Ship Key in hand, Akira went to Archive Port. Ben Oldman took him to the control room to begin the start up sequence. The launch succeeded and the Archive Ship arrived somewhere else, though Ben Oldman couldn't be sure it was File Island as they used the Auto-Navigation System, so Akira decided to check out the area while Ben Oldman set up the Teleport Gate to connect to Archive Port. The only place he could go was the Village of Beginnings, where he accidentally acted rudely to Master Tyranomon by calling him "a huge thing" and being surprised he was a Digimon. After Master Tyranomon introduced himself as the guardian of the Village of Beginnings, Akira realized he was the Digimon Leomon had talked about, then apologized for his earlier rudeness and asked him about Crimson and the past of the Village of Beginnings. Master Tyranomon refused to let him into the Village, however, finding him suspicious, and after Akira insisted, Master Tyranomon challenged him to a fight as he could tell if a person was good or bad through battle and, if Akira was truly an enemy spy, he'd stop him there and then. Akira accepted the challenge and moved to the area Master Tyranomon sent him, Lex Hole. There, Master Tyranomon directly accused Akira of being an enemy spy and was angry that Akira made him wait. Akira pointed out he hurried to get there which made Master Tyranomon wonder if that meant it took him that long to get to the Hole or if he got lost in it, but regardless, that proved he was a loser Tamer who he'd crush. This greatly angered Akira who threatened to destroy Master Tyranomon.
Master Tyranomon is the boss of Lex Hole. He fights alone. During this fight, Master Tyranomon can use Panzer Knuckle, Fire Breath and Seishin Chūnyū.
Having lost, Master Tyranomon acknowledged Akira wasn't bad for a Guard Tamer and was, in fact, the strongest human he had met in a long time. Master Tyranomon apologized for thinking Akira was a bad guy and allowed him entrance into the Village of Beginnings, then went back to it himself. There, Akira explained to Master Tyranomon that he was investigating what Crimson planned to do on File Island. Master Tyranomon, in response, told Akira that the Blood Knights arrived before him. Master Tyranomon was sure that Crimson intended to meet with Chaos Lord, but the only one in the Village of Beginnings who knew where Chaos Lord was was the elder, Jijimon. Akira asked to meet with Jijimon but Master Tyranomon explained that Jijimon wasn't there anymore as he had been kidnapped by the Blood Knights, so Master Tyranomon asked Akira to rescue him, explaining he had to be in one of the four Holes around the Village.
Back in the Colosseum, Akira entered the Rank 4 Tournament, whose rounds were:
- Esmeralda, with Pidmon, Unimon and Birdramon
- Arc Schultz, with Saberdramon, Gururumon and Shima Unimon. He was excited to fight Akira and had been waiting for the chance.
- Lin Lin Shao, with Angemon, Kiwimon and Mushmon. She promised it wouldn't go like last time, but after it did, she left crying.
He then entered the Rank 5 Tournament, whose rounds were:
- Vivi, with Mori Shellmon, Jungle Mojyamon and Togemon. She remarked it was the first time they battled.
- Klon Gander, with Bakemon, Woodmon and Soulmon. He remained silent before the battle.
- Yaruyaru, with Tyranomon, Centalmon and Monochromon. He gave himself a cool title ("Dynamic Doug Duem" in the English translation) before the battle. After losing, he was surprised someone other than Zudokan could defeat him.
Following from that, Akira entered the Rank 6 Tournament, whose rounds were:
- Bertran, with Tailmon, Flare Lizamon and Devidramon. He was sure he'd win this time.
- Ototate Shina, with Gesomon, Devimon and Guardromon. She asked Akira how were him and his Digimon doing.
- Arc Schultz, with Saberdramon, Shima Unimon and Gururumon. He asked Akira to go easy on him and promised to give him something good in return.
Afterwards, he entered the Rank 7 Tournament, whose rounds were:
- Vivi, with three Mamemon. Before the fight, Vivi asked Akira how he was doing.
- Lin Lin Shao, with Angewomon, Lilimon and Etemon. Before the fight, she apologized for getting mad last time, though afterwards, she whined to Leomon about how mean Akira was to her. Leomon didn't agree, however.
- Klon Gander, with Fantomon, Vamdemon and Megadramon. He thought he'd fight Lin Lin Shao instead.
