After an earthquake hit the Village of Beginnings, Jijimon's room suddenly lit up and an amnesiac girl appeared out of nowhere. Akira introduced himself to her as a Guard Tamer of Digital City. The girl didn't remember anything but both felt like they had met each other before. This led her to remember her name, Estina, though she didn't understand why seeing Akira triggered that memory. Akira felt like he had heard her name before. Jijimon offered to take care of Estina while Akira continued his work.

After clearing Bug Bug Hole and Spool Hole, back in Digital City, at the Main Gate, Akira wondered where Crimson was hiding. He then saw a Black Sword Tamer mocking Digital City's security and wondering where he'd set up his next bomb. However, upon seeing Estina, he ran away, pushing Akira out of his way. Akira asked Estina what was happening but she merely told him she was in a hurry and left. After said "Black Sword Tamer", in reality Damedabose in disguise, confessed to Akira in the Tamer Club that he was going to blow up Digital City with bombs; Estina, who had found all the bombs and gotten Factory Manager Maisto's team to take them apart, showed up alongside a Tamer of each Guard Team and ordered Damedabose to give up. Damedabose refused to do it, however, instead threatening to use his karate on all the Guard Tamers, only for it to completely fail him. With no options left, he finally surrendered and the Guard Tamers took him to their Leaders.

Akira then turned to Estina and asked her if she had called security, which she had as she didn't want anything to go wrong. Akira praised her for that and for saving the City and wanted to repay the favour. Estina didn't think he needed to, but she nonetheless asked him for information about GAIA, which she claimed was extremely important for both of them. Akira remembered that was the name of the strange device Ayumi had built at Device Dome from Parts she found in various Holes. He further explained it could think and talk despite being neither human nor Digimon. This confirmed to Ayumi that that GAIA was what she looked for and she asked Akira to take her to Device Dome. There, Akira escorted Estina to GAIA. She accessed Program GAIA through an ID and password then asked GAIA if it recognized her, which it did, recognizing her as First Class Engineer Estina Violet. Estina was glad its backup program still worked but GAIA stated its original program was still inaccessible and out of control. That was why Estina had gone there, thinking there would be a way to stop GAIA once she took it back but they had to hurry as the life support system of the humans there would run out. GAIA then received an emergency code, an outside transmission call, which made Estina glad as it meant it could now receive call signals from the outside. Akira asked her what was going on and who she was. Estina had no time to explain everything but nonetheless did explain that she was from the "outside world" and they were inside a huge computer called GAIA, a cyberspace created to study digital evolution, and Akira was like her. GAIA then transferred both of them after detecting a transfer beam, leaving Akira alone and extremely confused.
