Sorry for our appearance, but this article currently needs a lot of work.

Chaos Tower (カオスタワー Kaosu Tawā) is a location in the Kernel Zone and the final Hole of Digimon World 2.

Description[edit]

Chaos Tower is a 20 floor long Hole. While shorter than its predecessor, Core Tower, Chaos Tower lacks Core Tower's weak wild Digimon, making it more difficult overall, and it has a high number of traps. The final floor always has a specific layout with treasure chests in each middle room along the side containing HP, MP, EX, and Max Driver items. The other rooms have enemies with three Ultimate level Digimon per party: War Greymon/Holydramon/Hououmon, Pinochimon/Mugendramon/Mugendramon, and Boltmon/Metal Garurumon/Griffomon.

Digimon World 2[edit]

In Core Tower, Akira's Guard Team's Guardian (Silver Guardian, Blue Guardian or Black Guardian) begged Akira to destroy GAIA in Chaos Tower or else Digimon would keep going wild and the world would be destroyed.

Climbing up to the 20th floor of Chaos Tower, Akira finally came face-to-face with Overlord GAIA, who referred to itself as a being of thoughts and the ultimate organism. It recognized Akira as the matrix ID 27 then welcomed Akira to its Hole. It then narrated that Akira had defeated its most powerful Chaos series Digimon, born and bred in the environment it created, as well as the test combination of the Chaos series and the matrix ID 04XY, which made Akira the most powerful organism in the Digital World. GAIA explained that all of that had been its experiment, with Akira a process of it, and said experiment's final stage was the combination of GAIA and Akira to form the true being of thought, a god-like being that would have full control over both worlds. Akira refused to accept it and fought Overlord GAIA instead.

Overlord GAIA (referred to as ????? in-battle) is the first boss of Chaos Tower. It fights alone. During this fight, Overlord GAIA can use God Punish, Glory Weapon, Phantom Screen and Phantasma Wall.

Unwilling to accept defeat, Overlord GAIA repeated over and over again it was the most powerful, then transformed into its second phase, separating its arms from its body.

Overlord GAIA's second phase is the final boss of the game. It fights alongside its two hands, each of which is considered its own Digimon for the fight. All three parts are given the name "?????". During this fight, the left hand can use God Hand Left and Infant Ray, the right hand can use God Hand Right and Land Disruption, and the main body can use Phantasma Wall and Cylinder Flail. After both hands are defeated, the main body can use Last Gun.

Overlord GAIA fell to the ground after its second defeat, with its extra parts breaking up from its body and its mask cracking up. However, far from giving up, it got back up and, with human-like eyes appearing on its face, let loose an energy wave from all of Chaos Tower, which also spawned its own crying eye. The wave caused the Digital World itself to enter an error state and seemingly shut down completely.
