Digimon Story[edit]
He gathers the Player's bio-energy data after they touch the computer's monitor, and finds in them the potential to be a Tamer. Mr. Gure believes that Digimon and humans can exist happily in this world, but he needs the Player's help and introduces the Player to the leader of the Tamer Union, Clavis Angemon after obtaining agreement. He then leaves as the Player gets registered to be an official Tamer.

A younger version of Kogure appears as the final opponent in the Legend Tamer Quest at the DigiColosseum. He fights with a Level 99 Chronomon Holy Mode. Defeating him allows the player to attain the rank of Legend Tamer. Afterwards, Kogure gives the player Chicchimon Scan Data.
Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars Red & Blue[edit]
Kogure is the Bronze Battle Master at the DigiColosseum, leading Team Chrono (クロノ, Kurono). The Referee introduces him as a white-coated scientist responsible for bringing children to the Digital World. Kogure states that he has fought at the Coliseum since its establishment and remembers its battles.
After Taiki and Xros Heart defeat him, Taiki attains the rank of Bronze Master. Kogure advises him that what matters is not merely attaining a rank, but how he reaches it and what he does afterwards. Taiki promises to do his best, reassuring Kogure about his intentions.
