Black Tailmon is the Partner Digimon of Shiroki Asuna in Digimon Story: Time Stranger.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]
While trying to find Monica Simmons' device's activation switch in the Outer Dungeons in The In-Between, Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan, Misono Inori, Aegiomon and Minervamon came across three Black Tailmon who quickly ran away. However, they couldn't recover the activation switch even after pursuing and defeating all three of them. Instead, all three got back together to play with the activation switch, while boasting about how they had to keep stealing from humans and enjoy their reactions. Unwilling to give the device back, all three Black Tailmon attacked the Agent at the same time. After defeating them, the Agent recovered the activation switch and returned it to Kuroi Shota.
Throughout all fights, the Black Tailmon use basic attacks and Neko Punch.
One of the Black Tailmon befriended Dr. Simmons before the Agent returned from Iliad. She sent them to help them get the batteries to their generators in "The Defense of Nishi-Shinjuku". Thus, Black Tailmon joins the party as a level 22 Digimon with the Nightmare II, Guard Bind, Meditator and X-Heal Attachment Skills.
During the mission, a group of special force soldiers, including Shiroki Asuna, were under attack by a Dagomon and several Chrysalimon in the Shinjuku sewers. Aegiochusmon and Black Tailmon fought them off. After saving them, Asuna was shocked Black Tailmon, who she fought before, had joined Dr. Simmons. After the team met up again, Asuna thanked Black Tailmon for their help and reocgnized they were different from the other Black Tailmon that played pranks earlier.
After Asuna sent the Agent to Higashi-Shinjuku to get the parts she needed to repair the generator, Black Tailmon decided to stay with Asuna. While uncomfortable about it, Shiroki allowed them to stay. However, when the Agent came back, they found the duo under attack by two Coredramon (Green), with Black Tailmon badly injured after trying to protect Asuna. After defeating the Coredramon, Aegiochusmon healed Black Tailmon. Afterwards, having repaired the generator, Asuna took Black Tailmon to Dr. Simmons, acknowledging them as her guardian.
The Agent meets Black Tailmon after the eight-year timeskip in Rebellion Village. During that time, they became the Partner Digimon of Asuna, evolved into Beel Starmon, and gained the ability to speak.
Beel Starmon joins the party for the incursion into the underground lab in "No Cure for Stupidity" as a level 45 Digimon with the Burst Flame III, Magma Fall III and Critical Field Attachment Skills. She leaves the party alongside Asuna to protect Dr. Simmons when she stays behind in the server room and rejoins after security is called to said room. After leaving the underground lab, the party disbands.
Beel Starmon admits to the Agent in "The Cycle of Time" that she doesn't understand complicated stuff, but nonetheless swears to protect Asuna and, if they're together, Dr. Simmons, no matter what, and so, the Agent shouldn't worry about her.
A fledgling cosplayer in Akihabara mistook Asuna and Beel Starmon as two incredible cosplayers in the side mission "Memories of Bonds". Due to how good their "cosplays" were, she didn't have the guts to talk to them, so the Agent offered to do it instead. They met the duo in a backalley close to there, where they were enjoying a moment of relaxation while strolling together for the first time. They both reminsced about how their early days together were, with Asuna's heart closed to Digimon and Black Tailmon unable to speak. However, the latter was determined to make friends with the former, and by talking to her, she learned how to speak and evolved. They remembered when Black Tailmon got wounded protecting Asuna after the latter fixed the generator, where Asuna's pleading for Black Tailmon to survive taught her her first words and got her to ask her to be her friend and Asuna accepted, even if no human had been friends with a Digimon before. Black Tailmon then nearly faded away, but her wish to be friends with Asuna saved her life and made her Warp Evolve into Beel Starmon. Their friendship continued from there on, with Beel Starmon teaching Asuna words and Asuna's values changing in return. Asuna then turned to the Agent and ordered them to stop eavesdropping and join in. Both thanked the Agent for being key to their survival and friendship. They then left.
