Living in the deep oceans of the Net, it is a Digimon of large build. Its enormousness is of the highest class in the Digital World. Due to that enormousness, it carries a volume of data that couldn't be processed by a normal computer. Although it has been possible to confirm it as the same species as those in File Island's coastal waters, this Whamon, which lives off of Folder Continent's coast, and whose appearance is totally the same, has surpassed the previous in both offensive ability and vitality, and accomplished an evolution to Perfect. Its Special Move is generating a gigantic tidal wave, destroying everything (Tidal Wave).

Appearances[edit]

Anime[edit]

Digimon Xros Wars: The Evil Death Generals and the Seven Kingdoms[edit]

Whamon is among the Digimon whose bodies were used as dummies controlled by the Drippins, serving Splashmon in "The Mysterious Cyber Land! The Beauty of the Steel City".

Whamon is the focus of the Digimon Data Collection segment of "Bagra Brothers, The Bond of Darkness!".

Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time[edit]

Digimon Adventure:[edit]

While soaring through the network during "Holy Digimon", Izumi Koshiro and Tentomon got eaten by Whamon. Whamon was then attacked by a group of Tylomon controlled by Soundbirdmon, which caused Whamon to spit them out. The Tylomon then pursued Koshiro and Tentomon rather than Whamon, which Koshiro took as a chance to separate them and allow Whamon to run.

Before the events of "Bolt, Herakle Kabuterimon", Whamon was captured by Nanomon, who threatened to have it eaten by its Gran Kuwagamon should Koshiro not solve his riddles. The last riddle was a hint of where Nanomon was hidden: inside Whamon itself, and Koshiro was able to lure him out once he understood that by sending him footage of Whamon being set on fire by the newly-evolved Herakle Kabuterimon. Whamon was then released after Herakle Kabuterimon defeated Nanomon and Gran Kuwagamon.

Whamon is seen in "The Angels' Determination" and "The End of the Adventure".

Manga[edit]

Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01[edit]

Whamon was a powerful "support program" and the protector of the Net Ocean and the one who gave Yagami Taichi the Digivice 01. He entrusted a Gomamon named Gon with his position as the Net Ocean guardian before being deleted and reverting to a Digitama.

Digimon Next[edit]

In "Battle for the Future!", a Whamon is one of the Digimon who cheer the heroes on in the final fight against N.E.O.

Digimon Liberator[edit]

One of the Deep Savers NPCs used an EX8-025[39] Whamon against Kazama Shoto in "CHAIN OF LIBERATION (Part 1)". It was forced to Rest by EX7-036 Zephagamon's When Evolving effect, then returned to the NPC's deck by the same effect triggered When Attacking.

A Whamon is one of the Digimon from Cross Connectia that moved to Lacuna to help the Debug Team fight Unchain in "DIGIMON / LIBERATOR (Part 2)".

Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]

After obtaining Shellmon's conch, Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan can blow it in a specific place in the Abyss Area to call Whamon to go into the Abyss Depths. This specific Whamon constantly makes "whale" puns.

The same Whamon reappears in the Akashic Records in "The Final Battle over the Natural Order". Due to being exposed to poison, its memory was unreliable, but it nonetheless takes the Agent, Misono Inori and Aegiomon to Venusmon and Neptunemon after the Agent blows the conch to give it a morale boost.

Clearing the "Survive to the End 3" Outer Dungeon Mission awards the Agent with a Whamon who joins them because it wants to be taken to the sea. Whamon joins at level 30 with the Hydro Water II, Lethal Blizzard II and Guard Break Attachment Skills.

Pinochimon, Lilimon and Whamon are fought in the "We don't lie" round of the "Greatest Omega Carnival" side mission. Before the fight, Etemon thinks they're lying about not lying. Whamon says that Pinochimon is being truthful, who in turn states that Lilimon never lies. Meanwhile, Lilimon affirms that it has never seen either of the other two lie.

  • Other than normal attacks, Pinochimon can use Void Ray III. It is weak to Fire and Steel, and resists Plant and Earth.
  • Lilimon can use Flow' Cannon. is weak to Fire and Steel, and resists Plant and Wind.
  • Other than normal attacks, Whamon can use Hydro Water III, Idle Bubble and Tidal Wave. It is weak to Electricity and Steel, resists Ice and is immune to Water.

Whamon is also an obtainable Digimon. It evolves from Ikkakumon, Seadramon, or Shellmon. It can evolve into Leviamon, Neptunemon, Plesiomon, or Marin Angemon.
