A Larva Digimon with a timid, cowardly personality. Just like V-mon and the others, it's a descendant of an ancient species, so it is able to perform special Armor evolutions, but since Wormmon is powerless when by itself, it can't possibly match up to larger Digimon. However, by Armor evolving with the power of the Digimentals, it is able to manifest unbelievable power. Also, it is said that in order for the fragile larva to grow into a powerful imago, Wormmon will one day evolve into an Adult overflowing with power. It can definitely be said that it is a Digimon who has hidden potential for the future. Its Special Moves are spitting out the threads of a tough, adhesive net, completely restricting the opponent's movements (Nebaneba Net), and spitting out stiff threads that are as thin as a silk thread but as pointed and sharp as a needle (Silk Thread).

Novel[edit]

Digimon Liberator[edit]

In "Oasis", Funbeemon thought the green caterpillar Digimon Yuuki and Impmon saw in the Obsidian Desert could be Wormmon, Dokunemon, or a new type of Digimon. Said Digimon turned out to indeed be a Wormmon, which was saved by Unchain and a Maquinamon before it could disappear due to Lacuna's effects on Digimon that could not acclimate to it. In "Unchain", Wormmon slept in a sphere of light that Unchain carried. However, Wormmon was still about to die, and even sending it to Garden wouldn't help. Unchain talked to Wormmon, not expecting a reply, then asked it for its help, promising it could still live. Unchain then had a Maquinamon fuse with Wormmon, pasting both its "new world" data and the data of the former Partner Digimon of Unchain's collaborator. This caused Wormmon's body to bend backward with a huge jolt as if new life had been forcefully breathed into it. Unchain also planned to conceal Wormmon inside an NPC. Unchain then apologised to Wormmon for not being able to take it with them, but promised no one would forget it after it became the root of many a Digimon's salvation, then transported it from the Void to Lacuna.

Digimon World: Digital Card Arena[edit]

Wormmon is a recurring antagonist in the game. He takes over Battle Arenas, brainwashing their original Battle Masters and taking their place with his different evolved forms. He first appears in Jungle City's Battle Arena, using the Tryout Deck, a Green/Nature and Black/Darkness deck with 3 attack, 2 defense and 1 evolution speed, which uses the Wormmon card. Upon being defeated, he worries about Ken being angry at him, then abandons the Arena without giving the player the Passcode.

Wormmon appears once again in his Child form in Dark City's Battle Cafe, where he tells the player that he won't lose in his Battle Arena, which shows his different evolved levels, and even if he did lose, the player has no chance against Ken. In it, Wormmon is the first opponent, having switched his deck to the Somewhat Serious deck, which has 1 more evolution speed but otherwise has the same stats, as an improved version of the Tryout deck. Upon losing, he evolves to Stingmon.

After the player clears Dark City's Battle Arena, in the Battle Cafe, Wormmon thanks him for beating Ken, telling him that Ken is changing his ways and he'll take care of him, before giving the player the Passcode to Pyramid City as well as the second Digimental for his first partner. Afterwards, he reopens the Battle Arena, with his Coatlmon form as the Battle Master.

Wormmon is also an obtainable Child-level Black/Darkness card. It is a Partner Card, and part of the third and last set of Partner Cards the player can obtain, as an option between all the Partner Cards in the game the player has not picked yet. Fittingly enough, this means that the Wormmon card can only be obtained from Wormmon's Partner, Ken. Wormmon's stats at level 1 and with no Digi-Parts are:

  • HP: 550
  • +P: 20
  • Circle attack: 300
  • Triangle attack: 250
  • X attack: 170
  • Support Abilities: Lower opponent's attack power -100. Draw 1 card.

Wormmon's attacks are Nebaneba Net, Silk Thread and Random Roll.

Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode[edit]

In the Train Garage, Wanyamon attempted to scare a cowardly Wormmon that wouldn't leave a train to feel strong. After Wanyamon left, Taiga entered the train and confirmed to Wormmon that the bully was gone. Wormmon thanked him for that and explained the train was its secret sanctuary where it was always safe, and no one but it could normally enter but Taiga was an exception. Talking to it, Wormmon explained that it was told it could do anything if it put its mind into it, which only made it feel pressured and made it develop a complex.

The next time Taiga goes to visit Wormmon, the train suddenly activates on its own and takes them both to the Dark Area, which terrifies Wormmon. After Taiga calls it a coward, Wormmon gets greatly angered and evolves into Stingmon.
