Taomon

This is the 222nd article to have been featured on the Main Page.

Versed in Onmyoudou, it is an onmyouji Digimon that freely uses every technique in battle. Its faculty with magic is particularly high, and attacks with talismans and spells are its forte. Also, it is a master of concealed weapons, and hides various weapons up its sleeves. It doesn't talk very much due to its extreme reticence, and it is a being that lives and lurks within the darkness. Also, it is able to turn its talismans into shikigami and command them. Its Signature Move is wreathing its talismans around the opponent's body, then detonating them (Kofūsatsu). Its Special Move "Bonhitsusen" is chanting an incantation while painting the Sanskrit character "Hūṃ" in the air with its gigantic brush, then hurling it at the opponent. An opponent that is hit with Bonhitsusen gets caught in a gigantic explosion and is annihilated.
  • It shouts "Bon-Hitsu-Sen" as it paints the Sanskrit character.

For Taiga to use it, it challenges him to survive its servants' attacks for 180 seconds, 60 affected by the Calm time. After doing so, Taomon acknowledges Taiga deserves to inherit the switch, but only one can control it, so he must defeat Taomon first. After being defeated, Taomon vanishes.

Taomon is the Partner Kemonogami of Minase Miyuki. In Part 10 outside of the Truth route, Renamon evolves on their own into Taomon in order to turn Momotsuka Takuma and the rest into sacrifices for the Master. In the Truth route, Renamon's rage at failing to kill Minase Akiharu, who they viewed as a traitor to Miyuki, and their wish for power no one could match, causes them to evolve on their own into Taomon.

Taomon is also a playable Kemonogami which can be obtained as both a Partner and a Free Kemonogami. It's a Special-type, Harmony (Data)-attribute, Perfect-level Kemonogami. Its unnamed Attack is Kofūsatsu (120 power, 0 SP, deals Dark damage to target) and its special attack is Bonhitsusen (250 power, 40 SP, deals Dark damage to target with a moderate chance of confusing them). Its Passive Skill is Taoist (Raises damage dealt by Light and Dark attacks one rank and increases all elemental resistances one rank). Taomon's evolutions differ depending on whether it is the Partner Taomon or a Free Taomon:
