Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]
At some point in the eight year timeskip, Grappu Leomon got angry at Mercurymon's passive attitude towards the Titans' actions and, joining forces with Digimon of similar mindset, left Rebellion Village and formed the Shinjuku Underground Arena, a place where they could train themselves to eventually strike back and recover the Digital World: Iliad, though Tyumon in Rebellion Village thought they just used it as a way to vent their stress. Grappu Leomon himself became its first champion and went undefeated for a long while.
Eventually, in their search for Bearmon (Younger Brother), Tyumon and Pegasmon in Rebellion Village told Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan, Misono Inori and Aegiomon about the Shinjuku Underground Arena and Pegasmon took them to it. To get to Bearmon (Younger Brother), who evolved into the undefeated champion Grappu Leomon, they entered the Arena as the Rookie Team. They fought four rounds of ever-fiercer opponents (Tyumon and Platinum Scumon, three Fantomon, Taomon and Yatagaramon, and the Kings of Celebrity (Prince Mamemon, Superstarmon and King Etemon)) then went against Grappu Leomon himself. After being declared the new champions, Aegiomon asked Grappu Leomon if he remembered them, which he at first didn't but soon realized who the humans were. After Grappu Leomon explained why he formed the Shinjuku Underground Arena and how he believed his big brother was still alive and wanted to find him, Aegiomon told him said big brother had become the undisputed champion of the High-Rise Colosseum and one of the Titans, Callismon. While this greatly angered Grappu Leomon, they seemingly managed to convince him to go with them to confront his older brother instead of doing something risky. However, before they could, Inori received a call from Sagisaka Hiroko who wanted to tell her something. Grappu Leomon claims that he needed to make preparations as well, so the group separated. In actuality, Grappu Leomon had no intent to follow the deal and went straight to fighting Callismon alone, dying as a result.
After Aegiomon went back in time through his Akashic Vision, Inori rejected Hiroko's call and they both convinced Grappu Leomon not to go on his own.
No enemy in the Shinjuku Underground Arena can be refought after winning the SDGP for the first time.
