Digimon Survive[edit]
Renamon was Minase Miyuki's partner. 50 years ago (in the human world), Miyuki and and her brother, Minase Akiharu, disregarded their parent's warnings about not to go near the local shine, and ended up lost in the Kemonogami Realm, and they befriended Renamon and Gabumon respectively. They were then attacked by a Kenzoku. Renamon and Gabumon defended the Minase siblings against the Kenzoku, but to no avail. Seeing that her brother's life is in peril, Miyuki used the Minase family's song to send Haru back to the human world, sacrificing her soul in the process. Miyuki was stuck alone in the Kemonogami World with Renamon, who began using her shapeshifting abilities to impersonate Akiharu so she could keep her sanity in check. Just like Gabumon, Renamon believed that Akiharu abandoned Miyuki and became deeply resentful of him as well.
Renamon and Miyuki were re-discovered in 2020 by Momotsuka Takuma and Hinata Minoru inside the abandoned school. The two boys find her (taking the form of Haru) and mistook her for a human. In response, Renamon scares them by modifying her Haru illusion, so it now has a creepy face with two hollowed-out eyes and a hollowed-out mouth, then disappears. They follow her up to the Piano room and spot "Haru", who now had a normal, human face and Miyuki.
After saving Shibuya Aoi from several Dokugumon, the party began joining forces with "Haru" and Miyuki to find their lost comrades. Speaking to "Haru" yields dialogue options that change alignment and grants Takuma items like a partner Kemonogami would, rather than affinity points like human characters. Furthermore, "Haru" can see through hostile Kemonogami (such as Archnemon) through their disguises and can leap down from bridges without being harmed.
In Part 5, "Haru" and Miyuki mostly remained neutral when Kayama Shuuji was unintentionally causing issues within the group. When the party was caught in Archnemon's scheme in the waterway, Haru and Miyuki were separated from the rest of the group. They managed to fight and make their way to Takuma on their own, with "Haru" first appearing in her true Renamon form in front of him rather than her disguise. After transforming back to normal, "Haru" lies to Takuma that Renamon is separate from him and is a Digimon protecting them before leaving.
During the raid against the factory building where the Master's cult made as their hideout, Piemon appears and abducts Miyuki to be sacrificed to the Master. This sends Renamon into a flying rage and she instantly runs away on her own, killing countless Dokugumon in a massacre. When Takuma and Miyuki vanished back to the human world, she stayed with the rest of the cast in her Haru form until their return.
After Takuma and Miyuki return to the Kemonogami world, Miyuki was possessed by the Master, who also speaks through her body. Renamon tries to stop the Master, only him to strike her down by summoning lightning bolts. After the battle against the Kenzoku invading the school area for Zhuqiaomon, Renamon enters the Master's keep to save Miyuki.
In the Master's Realm, the Master struck a deal with Renamon where she will draw out and send all of the survivors to be sacrificed to him in exchange for him releasing Miyuki. Renamon follows the deal, but the Master had no intent of following it. Whatever happens next depends on Route.
Moral Route[edit]
In the Moral Route, Renamon took her Haru form disguise again and draws Aoi and Kaito into a Library. The rest of the survivors follow suit and found themselves trapped and isolated. After fighting his way out of multiple Kenzoku impersonating his comrades, Takuma and the professor encounter Renamon, who reveals that she was behind everything, her sentiment towards the professor and that she is actually "Haru". Renamon evolves into Taomon and attacks the party with a group of Kenzoku. They manage to defeat her, and the Master reappears, citing that he had no intent to follow through a deal with a "lowly beast". He then summons more Kenzoku against the party. To help the survivors fight them and realizing her mistakes, Renamon evolves into Sakuyamon and joins the party.
Despite her true identity being exposed, Renamon continues to don her "Haru" disguise in the overworld as it was more comfortable for her to be in that form.
When the party goes to the Shrine to save Miyuki, the Master orders numerous Kenzoku to do a final compromise on her body, turning her into a towering, Super Ultimate Kenzoku that he has full control of. If either she, Agumon and Gabumon were to die in this fight, the game is over. Mid-fight, the professor tries to appeal to Miyuki's consciousness, only for the Master to take over completely and try killing him. However, Renamon takes the hit and dies instantly, cementing the Master's control over Miyuki. Seeing that the situation is dire, the professor and Takuma join forces, their resolve to save Miyuki Warp Evolving Agumon and Gabumon into the Super Ultimate Omegamon. Omegamon destroys the Kenzoku body and frees Miyuki, officially putting her out of the Masters control. Renamon succumbs to the injury and seemingly perishes, but a miracle from Miyuki caused her to revert back to an egg. In the Master's Realm, she was resurrected by Miyuki's tears (if one opens the Monster management menu during this time, Miyuki's Renamon is still intact at the beginning of the chapter). She bid farewell and was left back in the Kemonogami World following the Master's defeat.
Wrathful Route[edit]
In the Wrathful Route, when trying to investigate the newly-created Library, Aoi was baited by Renamon as "Haru" and strayed there alone. There, she was tortured by an illusion of Saki created by Renamon. She did not consciously create an illusion specifically against Aoi, and it merely reflects its victim's worst fears. The fake Saki berates Aoi for failing to save her and it is all her fault that she died, and the only way for her to atone was for her to be sacrificed by the Kenzoku. However, she was stopped short by Takuma, who fought his way out of multiple Kenzoku impersonating his comrades. After saving the rest of the survivors, Takuma and the professor encounter Renamon, who reveals that she was behind everything, her sentiment towards the professor and that she is actually "Haru". Renamon evolves into Taomon and attacks the party with a group of Kenzoku. They manage to defeat her, and the Master reappears, citing that he had no intent to follow through a deal with a "lowly beast" and summons multiple Kenzoku. To help the survivors fight them and realizing her mistakes, Renamon evolves into Sakuyamon and joins the party.
Renamon's actions did a fatal blow on Aoi's sanity, and she was barely clinging onto it before the fight prior and registers all of the Kenzoku as Saki, only to be snapped out by Takuma. Aoi strays away on her own after the fight, eventually going completely insane and fusing with Labramon into Plutomon trying to absorb the Master and annihilate all life from both the Kemonogami and human worlds. While pursuing Aoi in the Deep Under Shrine to stop her and save Miyuki, Renamon discovers that all of the Kenzoku had their "mind, body and soul all gone", indicating that by "making everyone become one with her", Aoi meant that she wanted to go on a rampage and eradicate all life. After defeating Aoi however, the Master already successfully absorbed Miyuki's soul and it was too late. As a result, Renamon's guise fades and she dies alongside her.
Harmonious Route[edit]
Renamon's role in Part 10 of the Harmonious Route is mostly identical to her role in the Wrathful Route. However, instead of baiting Aoi, she baited Shinonome Kaito, who fell into a despondent state after losing his sister Shinonome Miu to the Kenzoku. As a result, the illusion Renamon created takes the form of Miu and berates him for not being able to save her. Unlike Aoi in the Wrathful Route, Kaito was able to properly register "Miu" as an illusion after a while, causing him to leave the group out of disgust against them making amends with Renamon. Renamon's actions caused Kaito to become completely insane, beating random Digimon trying to find a lead against the Master who killed his sister, and eventually made his way to Piemon, whom he ordered Dracumon to fuse into Voltobautamon, a powerful Kemonogami he planned to use to destroy the Master, Miyuki and everything else that stood in his way out of revenge against his sister's death.
Renamon accompanied the group until after defeating Voltobautamon, where Piemon's consciousness took over and killed her alongside Miyuki, the professor and Kaito in one fell swoop.
