Appearances[edit]
Anime[edit]
Digimon Frontier[edit]
One of Digimon within Sephirothmon, Volcamon was guardian of the Earth Sphere and the first guardian encountered. When Shibayama Junpei entered this sphere, Volcamon attacked him and began to prey on his insecurities. Junpei evolves to Blitzmon and is able to defeat and scan Volcamon, though Volcamon's Big Bang Voice leaves him shaken.
Digimon Adventure:[edit]
In "Clash, the King of Digimon", the Chosen Children met a Volcamon who wished to be the King of Digimon, fighting against an Etemon for the title. He thought fitness was the most important quality for the King of Digimon, while Etemon thought entertainment was instead, and both had Gazimon and Nanimon followers who'd switch sides between the two of them, with the Gazimon dressing up like Etemon. However, once the Chosen Children arrived, they decided that whoever beat them would be the King of Digimon due to their notoriousness. Their sound waves caused the Digimon to act bizarrely, making them unable to fight, but they were ultimately stopped once Palmon evolved into Ponchomon and beat them, which made them want to follow her instead.
Volcamon and Etemon reacted to the attack of a group of Soundbirdmon in "The Angels' Determination".
After Negamon was finally defeated in "The End of the Adventure", Machmon had a race against Rebellimon. Close to them, Etemon and Volcamon rode a Tankmon as two Kiwimon, who carried their Gazimon fans dressed as Etemon, followed them.
