Profile[edit]
Makoto is the Cyber Arena's A-Rank Master. He acts as a mentor to Kazuki/Itsuki. Since Makoto himself does not want to be looked up by Gatchmon, his information is hidden and unknown thanks to Yadomon, and he avoids others knowing even of his rank, even though thanks to that he has a lot of connections. Originally the Rising Star that quickly rose through the ranks without a single loss, a crushing defeat to Ouji made him depressed. While he improved thanks to Kazuki/Itsuki, he went back to that state after losing to Naoto. He intended to quit being an Appli Driver in both cases, though in both he managed to recover thanks to Kazuki/Itsuki, who's similar enough to him to recover his love for battles.

Digimon Universe Appli Monsters[edit]
Kazuki/Itsuki and Onmon met Makoto while looking for the F-Rank Rank Master in Nikotamagawa. Onmon immediately realized he was an Appli Driver as he had an Appli Drive, which made him assume he was said Rank Master, though Kazuki/Itsuki thought he was being too hasty. This didn't stop Onmon, though, who immediately tried to "connect" Kazuki/Itsuki and Makoto by confronting the latter. Makoto had never seen an Onmon before but nonetheless quickly clarified he wasn't the F-Rank Master. Despite that, however, Onmon started a battle between the Appli Drivers against both of their wills. Onmon apologised but still wanted to battle, justifying himself by pointing out Kazuki/Itsuki wanted to get stronger by connecting to many people and also he wanted to learn about bonds in battle. This made Makoto agree to the fight.
For the fight, Makoto uses Yadomon, Jetmon, and Resshamon, all Applinked with Navimon. He also uses Newsmon and Weathermon for Appli Skills. After the fight, Makoto promised to fight Kazuki/Itsuki and Onmon again in the future, so long as they followed the proper procedure this time. While Onmon said he reflected on his actions, he was too focused on connecting with others to truly believe, which Makoto found amusing, and the duo reminded him of himself when he first started. He then offered to help them look for the F-Rank Master. His Buddy Appmon, Yadomon, then Appliarised and questioned if he should. Yadomon calling him "Makoto" made Kazuki/Itsuki realize they had never heard his name, so everyone involved introduced themselves. Makoto also introduced the F-Rank Master as Wakaba and adviced Kazuki/Itsuki to look for him in the AR-Field as only Appli Drivers could be there. The Appmon then left and Kazuki/Itsuki asked Makoto for their Rank but they refused to answer, merely stating he was "slightly above [them]" as he had been an Appli Driver for longer.
Makoto showed up again after Kazuki/Itsuki met Wakaba in Greenery Park. He mocked Wakaba for not sticking to a character then said he was curious about Kazuki/Itsuki so he wanted to watch their battle, while Kazuki/Itsuki were surprised that both knew each other. Makoto became angry about how casual Kazuki/Itsuki was around Makoto, nearly telling them who Makoto was, but he stopped him and ordered him to face Kazuki/Itsuki already. While Wakaba agreed to do it, he asked for a bit of time. Onmon refused to wait however and tried to force a connection as he had done with Makoto earlier, only to get rejected. Wakaba explained his Appli Drive couldn't get online. While Onmon and Kazuki/Itsuki believed an Appmon had created an AR Dungeon in Wakaba's Appli Drive, Wakaba explained that it wasn't only him, and that a lot more people in the town had their smartphones go offline. Furthermore, the offline area was getting bigger. Wakaba was investigating the cause and Onmon decided to join up, followed by Kazuki/Itsuki as the quest "Net Outage Investigation" as he wanted to climb up the ranks so he could face Naoto. Wakaba warned them of the risk to their Appli Drive but Onmon said he'd connect them so they wouldn't go offline. Makoto believed in them as well. Wakaba then asked them to keep in contact, only for Makoto to point out that Wakaba couldn't do that as he was offline, so Makoto and Kazuki/Itsuki would continue the investigation while Wakaba waited for them. Wakaba suggested they ask normal people as he had already asked every Appli Driver in the area and got nothing out of it. Makoto then left, with Kazuki/Itsuki following after him.
Now far from Wakaba, Makoto suggested they should look outside the park as Wakaba had that zone covered. He then left the AR-Field.
After defeating Tapmon (Tool) of the Three Evil Mons, Kazuki/Itsuki returned to Wakaba. As his Appli Drive was still offline, they realized that they had to beat all Three Evil Mons to fix the situation. This starts the quest "Net Outage Investigation 2". Makoto then called Kazuki/Itsuki and joined them, so Kazuki/Itsuki told him what they learned. They decided to search for more AR Dungeons in the north part of Nikotamagawa. There, Kazuki/Itsuki found the second of the Three Evil Mons, Flickmon (Tool), and defeated it. Afterwards, Makoto called Kazuki/Itsuki and told them to go to the control panel of the vending machine near the station in the same area as it seemed suspicious, explaining that someone's Appli Drive stopped working near it. While they did that, Makoto decided to keep searching for information.
After defeating Jammingmon, the cause of the jamming, Kazuki/Itsuki went back to Wakaba in the AR-Field. Wakaba praised Kazuki/Itsuki for their success even if they did it with Makoto's help, though said Makoto then joined and pointed out Kazuki/Itsuki and Onmon did it by themselves. When their ranked fight was about to start, Wakaba fumbled then tried once more to act like a cartoon villain, only for Makoto to state his character was all over the place.
After Kazuki/Itsuki defeated Wakaba, he tried to praise their rank up with his villain persona, only for them to tell him to talk normally. Makoto praised the bond between Kazuki/Itsuki and Onmon and said he wished he could fight like that, which MCmon took as a joke as he was actually something, but Makoto refused to let him continue, arguing the protagonist now was Kazuki/Itsuki. He then adviced them to get more battle experience to improve their teamwork with Appmon as their opponents would only get more skillful as their rank increased. Wakaba believed Kazuki/Itsuki could become the Champion, though it'd be a long road ahead, while Makoto worried they would eventually hit a wall.
Once Kazuki/Itsuki goes back to the Cyber Arena for the E-Rank matches, they find Makoto and Yadomon there. As their new fan, Makoto pledges to watch their battles from now on, while Yadomon merely wishes them good luck.
At some point before their E-Rank Match, Makoto told Yukari about Kazuki/Itsuki. Yukari believed Kazuki/Itsuki rising up the ranks would help Makoto somehow.
Makoto accidentally overheard Kazuki/Itsuki's conversation with Naoto, Yukari and Mio. He called Kazuki/Itsuki afterwards and asked them to join him at the Cyber Arena. There, Makoto asked them about that fight with Naoto. Makoto realized Naoto didn't trust Appmon and treated them just like tools, unlike most Appli Drivers who trusted their bonds and fought together, especially Kazuki/Itsuki and Logimon, which made Logimon happy. Kazuki/Itsuki was surprised at how carefully Makoto watched other people's battles but he pretended he was just echoing someone else's words. Naoto and Logamon then showed up to ask Kazuki/Itsuki where Mio went. Kazuki/Itsuki explained she was looking for him but had evidently failed to find him and Naoto mentioned that that meant the "talk" was true, but refused to explain further and left with Logamon. Kazuki/Itsuki would learn about it regardless, however, as they also received an Appli Talk message, extorting them to go to the south apartment complex in Hifumigaoka with Appmon if they wanted Mio back, while also threatening her if they told any other Appli Driver. While Makoto realized something was wrong, Kazuki/Itsuki couldn't tell him the truth and left.
Later on, Makoto observed Mio as she ran all around the Cyber Arena in happiness after becoming an Appli Driver. After she left, he complained about how noisy she made the Cyber Arena. Yukari and Makoto both agreed that she could get lost in an AR Dungeon while looking for Protecmon and Pipomon so Kazuki/Itsuki offered to go with her as the quest "Before She Gets Lost". Despite that, both Makoto and Yukari shared Mio's happiness.
As Kazuki/Itsuki was about to face Kayo, the C-Rank Master, Yukari explained the B-Rank Master was Kagefumi. However, before she could state the A-Rank Master's name, Makoto stopped her, arguing it was more fun for Kazuki/Itsuki to find out themself. Ouji then arrived. While Makoto said nothing, he was clearly rattled by Ouji, becoming unusually serious.
Yukari and Makoto showed up at the Cyber Arena while it was going through a major communication outage just as Kazuki/Itsuki had to fight the High-End GP (A-Rank). Makoto confirmed to everyone that there was no way to battle at all outside the Cyber Arena as well as repeating what MCmon had said before, that the High-End GP (A-Rank) could not be competed in either, though he seemed happy about it as if he was relieved. Makoto denied this however then attempted to leave for his home until the Cyber Arena was fully restored. He was blocked by Ouji before he could, however, who called him out on ignoring the situation. Makoto, however, just left silently anyways.
Makoto joined Kazuki/Itsuki and MCmon in the Cyber Arena after the incident was resolved. While he was already aware of the situation thanks to Yukari, he didn't seem to particularly care about it and quickly left, arguing that he was busy. However, Kazuki/Itsuki stopped him to tell him about their latest fight with Naoto, though Yukari had already told Makoto about that as well. Makoto explained that, when all someone cared about was aiming higher and focus on winning, things stopped being fun. Makoto wondered if it was the same for Kazuki/Itsuki, but they still had fun with Appmon battles, which Makoto already knew from watching their battles. However, he warned them that, the more they ranked up, the more negative emotions would overwhelm them, like what Kagefumi had to face, and Naoto may already be there too. Makoto adviced them to stop aiming high and take it easy, like him, but Kazuki/Itsuki refused to do it as they wished to hit the same wall Naoto did to understand how he feels. Bootmon told them to crash into it if they had to, though that was too much for Kazuki/Itsuki. Regardless, Kazuki/Itsuki felt better after their talk and apologized to Makoto for taking his time since he was busy, though Makoto was happy to help.
Clearing the High-End GP (A-Rank) tournament gave Kazuki/Itsuki the right to face the A-Rank Master. MCmon described him as someone that went undefeated until he challenged the Champion, with a relaxed fighting style that earned him the nickname Sleeping Lion. However, he couldn't reveal his name as Naoto barged in and demanded a fight from said A-Rank Master: Makoto, who accepted Naoto's challenge. MCmon was left wounded that his hype was deflated, but nonetheless knew he had to prioritize Naoto's challenge. Naoto said that Makoto would just be another stepping stone for him to become stronger like all the rest he had defeated until that point, while Makoto calmly stated he was merely fulfilling his role as a Rank Master.
During the fight, Makoto's Beautymon faced off against Naoto's Shutmon. Makoto had higher Battery than Naoto but Beautymon had taken more damage than Shutmon. Makoto used Cometmon's "Astrology" Appli Skill, dealing good damage to Shutmon. Both Bootmon and Kazuki/Itsuki were impressed by Makoto, who had held the advantage against Naoto the whole fight. Naoto countered with Shutmon's "Forced Termination" Appli Skill, which dealt damage to Beautymon while filling his third Signature Skill gauge and giving him the last Attribute he hadn't used yet, Tool, though it also dealt Shutmon some recoil damage. Afterwards, Naoto pointed out that he expected more of a challenge from the A-Rank Master and was disappointed by him, then defeated Makoto with Shutmon's Luna Impulse. Kazuki/Itsuki was left wondering if Naoto took Makoto's attacks on purpouse and how easily Makoto lost. Naoto, who could now challenge the Champion, pointed out it was the natural result as he couldn't lose to someone who stopped aiming for the top, then left. Makoto was left silently fuming after his defeat and asked Kazuki/Itsuki to hold off on their battle for a bit as he was exhausted. He then left the Cyber Arena.
Yukari also watched the livestream of Makoto and Naoto's Ranker fight, which, as she told Kazuki/Itsuki afterwards, left her worried that Makoto may quit as an Appli Driver. Yukari then gave Kazuki/Itsuki more details about Makoto's past, about how he loved battles and was known as the Rising Star, had never lost since his debut, and was authorized to battle the Champion. However, this only meant he was unaccustomed to defeat and losing to Ouji hit him all the harder, making him stop aiming higher as he had been shown a wall he could never overcome. This led him to settle into his position as the A-Rank Master and rarely battle otherwise. He also confided to Yukari that he planned to quit, but then he met Kazuki/Itsuki, who resembled his past self and had fun again. However, the Makoto Yukari saw in the livestream was the gloomy one of the past, the one that wanted to quit. Yukari then told Kazuki/Itsuki they may be the only one that can stop Makoto, who tended to go to the riverbank on Nikotamagawa's south side when he wanted to be alone, the same place Kazuki/Itsuki first met him in.
Indeed, Makoto and Yadomon were there. Yadomon, who had always been with Makoto, knew that Makoto loved battles deep down. He pointed out how similar he was to Kazuki/Itsuki and how much fun Makoto had in their impromptu battle. Makoto knew Yadomon was right and had gone back to his cheerful self thanks to that battle, but that didn't last, and now he found no fun in battles anymore and was terrified he may end up hating Appmon, even Yadomon, who he already felt like he was betraying. Kazuki/Itsuki and Bootmon then joined them and Makoto apologized for abandoning their battle, then resolved to pull himself together for the A-Ranker battle, the last battle he'd ever have, then he'd quit as an Appli Driver for good. However, Makoto couldn't call MCmon for the Remote Cyber Arena, which could only mean a Chaos Gate had opened again somewhere. After Kazuki/Itsuki and Bootmon explained the danger of the Chaos AR-Field to Makoto, he decided to postpone their battle again, and instead called for them to split up and ask the people in the area if they had seen something strange to find the Chaos Gate. Makoto found it first, in the park, but couldn't contact Kazuki/Itsuki due to the network outage it caused, though they arrived soon after anyways. Makoto fiddled with it in the meantime, but it asked him for a 4-digit password. He also found it had a timer for something. Kazuki/Itsuki thought Ouji may know, and although he dodged saying his name in fear of triggering Makoto again, he easily realized who they meant anyways. However, Makoto thought they had no way to contact him with Appli Talk down, but Kazuki/Itsuki knew Bootmon could connect Appli Talk as he had done before. The bigger issue was that neither had Ouji's contact information. Kazuki/Itsuki thought of contacting Teito Security but Makoto knew they wouldn't give his info to a random stranger. Thinking about it once again, Makoto realized they could contact Ouji's Buddy Appmon, Oujamon, who had stayed with Yadomon in the past and they could trace the lodging record from that time. To do so, Makoto called to Yadomon, who found his contact. He knew he shouldn't tell them due to confidentiality but it was an emergency. Bootmon then established a connection with a full-power boot, bringing Oujamon to them, who introduced himself then asked the others to do the same. Kazuki/Itsuki did as asked then asked him to let them talk to Ouji. Oujamon recognized Kazuki/Itsuki as the one Ouji was interested in and left to do as asked. It worked, as Ouji then called Kazuki/Itsuki, who explained the situation in fear. Ouji was already aware of the Nikotamagawa Chaos Gate as he was investigating it but couldn't stop it, they'd have to do it from their side, and he didn't know the password either. What he did know was that four nearby AR Dungeons were linked to the Chaos Gate, which Makoto realized meant the password was in them. Ouji sent the AR Dungeon locations to Kazuki/Itsuki and Makoto then cut the call. Makoto split them once more, taking two AR Dungeons while Kazuki/Itsuki took the other two as the quest "The Two Password Parts".
The two met again at the Chaos Gate with their respective two digits of the password. While originally they didn't know how to input it, and had no time to brute force it, Makoto quickly realized that the two numbers could be identified as letters, and so, the four letters (0/O, U, J, 1/I) spelled "OUJI". The password deactivated the Chaos Gate. While neither knew what to think of it, they nonetheless agreed they should just be happy that they managed to disable it. Afterwards, they left the AR-Field and Makoto, with Yadomon by his side, wanted to get back to their Ranker battle. However, before that, Kazuki/Itsuki asked him if he truly intended to retire as an Appli Driver after the battle, arguing if it wasn't for Makoto and Yadomon, they could not have stopped the Chaos Gate in time, help they couldn't give if he quit being an Appli Driver. Yadomon also disagreed with Makoto retiring but his orders were absolute. Instead of answering the question, Makoto gave Kazuki/Itsuki one: knowing Ouji, their next opponent, was incredibly strong, and how they may never win against him, would they not quit battling? Kazuki/Itsuki replied that they had lost to Naoto about 99 times in all sorts of challenges but never thought of giving up on challenging him, as doing so would be losing to themself. Kazuki/Itsuki then repeated their question but Makoto decided to give them his answer only if they defeated him.
At the start of the fight, Makoto confessed he never expected to battle Kazuki/Itsuki when they first met and Onmon said he wanted to battle to connect through bonds, but things had changed since then. Kazuki/Itsuki was much stronger and Makoto knew his own level, and the bond between them had grown strong too, so he'd give it his all, as both their friend and the A-Rank Master. Makoto opens the fight with Yadomon + Jetmon, which AppGattai into Tripmon. He then uses Beautymon + Scorpmon. He also uses Timemon, Sateramon, and Coachmon for Appli Skills.
After the fight, Makoto congratulated Kazuki/Itsuki on their win and on how they could now challenge the Champion. Rather than accepting it, however, Kazuki/Itsuki demanded his answer to their question. Makoto pointed out that Kazuki/Itsuki and Bootmon were mysterious, as battling them heated up his heart again and made him not want to lose to himself. As such, he would not retire, which made Kazuki/Itsuki happy as they believed it to be the right choice. That said, he may retire as the A-Rank Master to become the Champion, which made Kazuki/Itsuki his rival for the throne. Yadomon was also glad to not have to "close the hotel" and that Makoto was feeling better. Makoto apologized to him but Yadomon knew that Makoto was merely overwhelmed by his own thoughts, and thanked Kazuki/Itsuki for letting him "check out" of them. He then advertised his hotel to them. However, the happy moment was broken by MCmon, who had bad news and asked them to go to the Cyber Arena, which was seemingly going through another network outage. Makoto and Yadomon prepared to go there, but before that, Makoto proclaimed himself the next Champion, and he'd make Kazuki/Itsuki the next A-Rank Master, only to say it was a joke afterwards. Bootmon thought the recovered Makoto was super cool, while Kazuki/Itsuki was newly motivated to beat Naoto and Ouji and become the Champion.
The duo met back at the Cyber Arena which had gone dark again. The panicking MCmon explained that another Chaos AR-Field had appeared and a big network failure happened after their battle, affecting the Cyber Arena once more, and the damage was greater than last time. Yukari and Mio then joined them, just as terrified, and explained the Chaos AR-Field was spreading across all of Hifumigaoka. After confirming with their own eyes the situation, Kazuki/Itsuki and Makoto went back to the Cyber Arena to discuss the situation with the rest. While the Cyber Arena hadn't received further damage, the effects were so obvious that even non-Appli Drivers were panicking. Kazuki/Itsuki wondered if the Chaos AR-Field had spread even beyond Hifumigaoka. A terrified Kagefumi then joined them, though the mere fact that he had left his house distracted Kazuki/Itsuki and made them really happy for him. Kagefumi explained that, after their battle, he had been thinking of what he wanted to do and who he wanted to be, and his answer was that he wanted to be an Appli Driver, so he couldn't hide in his room during such a serious crisis. Kagefumi didn't understand what said crisis was though, but the abnormalities had reached Yongendori. Of course, he also didn't know what a Chaos AR-Field was, so Kazuki/Itsuki quoted Ouji's explanation verbatim. Kagefumi then explained that, while the AR-Field hadn't visibly changed like in Hifumigaoka, parts of it had nonetheless changed and rampaging Appmon appeared, and the Craftmon patrol reported the same, so it was probably starting to turn into a Chaos AR-Field. Kazuki/Itsuki remembered Jammingmon said the previous Chaos AR-Field was caused by a Chaos Gate and imagined the same was true here. Makoto knew there had to be Chaos Gates in Hifumigaoka and Yongendori but there may be more elsewhere too. Yukari wished Ouji and Kayo were there to help, and Mio thought the same of Naoto, who they couldn't even contact due to Appli Talk being down. Makoto had Kazuki/Itsuki look in Hifumigaoka and Yongendori while the rest split up and searched for other Chaos Gates. Everyone enthusiastically agreed, except Kagefumi who couldn't keep up with their energy. Yukari and Mio left first. Makoto said he'd go to Mihamakou to talk to Ryouji and the Mihama Gang and left too.
Makoto joined Kazuki/Itsuki and Yukari at the Chaos Gate in Hifumigaoka's Fountain Park after they had already been fighting there, justifying his lateness because he first went to Nikotamagawa and Mihamakou, confirming the former had no active Chaos Gate, so the one they deactivated earlier was likely the one meant for that area. However, Mihamakou did have a Chaos Gate, so Makoto asked Ryouji and the Mihama Gang to look for it. Meanwhile, Makoto and Yukari would guard the Hifumigaoka Chaos Gate so no more rampaging Appmon could get near it while Kazuki/Itsuki deactivated it. After doing so, Yukari and Makoto celebrated Kazuki/Itsuki's achievement, but they were more focused on the log Bootmon found inside the Chaos Gate, a trace of whoever created it. Yukari was shocked that the Chaos Gate was the work of someone, while Makoto realized the log was the same as the password they found earlier. Both Makoto and Kazuki/Itsuki reached the same conclusion but decided not to pursue it without further proof, keeping Yukari unaware of how said password was "OUJI". They also decided to prioritize the Chaos Gates in Mihamakou and Yongendori. Makoto decided to decipher the log and asked Yukari for her help while Kazuki/Itsuki took care of the remaining Chaos Gates.
After Rebootmon explained his mad plan in the Teito Security laptop AR Field, Mio called, screaming that she knew Naoto since far before Rebootmon did and wouldn't let him make a world for only them. Alongside her were the Rank Masters Yukari, Makoto and Kagefumi. Ouji also proclaimed they would protect the world, even against a God Appmon. Rebootmon explained that, as the fusion of Shutmon and Bootmon, he possessed both the ability to cut Appmon off and steal their power. With that, he took everyone's Appmon, and cut the connection with Mio and the rest. He then once again beckoned Naoto to go with him to a world without Kazuki/Itsuki where they wouldn't need to rely on anyone. Naoto agreed but with one condition: return all of Kazuki/Itsuki's Appmon, as if he had to not rely on Kazuki/Itsuki, then Rebootmon couldn't rely on their Appmon either. Rebootmon agreed and released them, including Bootmon, which to Ouji's surprise didn't make him revert, thanks to his ability to reboot and restore which instantly regenerated Bootmon's part, making him unneeded. Naoto told Kazuki/Itsuki this was his problem to solve then left with Rebootmon to go into the system.
With the two gone, Kazuki/Itsuki, Ouji and Kayo returned to the Real World where Mio and the Rank Masters were. Ouji's laptop was replaced with the proper Chaos Gate, and Ouji knew that's where Naoto and Rebootmon were but only Kazuki/Itsuki could follow them, as no one else had Appmon anymore. There, Makoto apologized for doing nothing and called out Yadomon's name.
As Kazuki/Itsuki prepared to enter the AR Dungeon, Ouji asked them if they were going to save Naoto. Kayo reminded them that they had to save the world, but they should save their precious friend too. Makoto accepted it was all up to them again. Yukari was certain they would succeed. Kagefumi knew that their side that helped others even when told not to was what saved him and what would save Naoto. Mio wondered if it was her fault that Naoto had changed and begged Kazuki/Itsuki to save him, promising not to be selfish anymore. Bootmon had been saved by Naoto and wanted to return the favour. With all of those feelings riding on their back, Kazuki/Itsuki and Bootmon entered the AR Dungeon.
The intense fight between the two Rebootmon pushed Kazuki/Itsuki and Naoto back to the Real World and removed the Chaos Gate. Ouji asked them if that meant Rebootmon was defeated and they tried to explain the situation as much as they understood it. Rebootmon then called Kazuki/Itsuki, who confirmed the virus-infected Rebootmon was defeated, though the Chaos AR-Field was still active and the virus-infected Appmon rampage was still ongoing, as Kayo confirmed. Ouji stated it was because the deepest parts of the system had been corrupted by the Chaos Gate and the infected Rebootmon spread the virus worldwide. Rebootmon could undo it with their powers of regeneration and rebooting though, returning the system to the state before it was corrupted. While Mio thought that was amazing, Ouji pointed out that the system contined the Artificial Intelligence of all the Appmon in the area, so resetting it could mean their Appmon would disappear, Rebootmon included. Oujamon stated the Buddy Appmon were aware of the risk, however, and chose to entrust everything to Rebootmon. Mio begged Rebootmon not to do it as Tutomon may disappear, but Tutomon found the request too heartbreaking, as this was something they were all prepared for. Mio cried out they finally got to meet and be together. Rebootmon asked Kazuki/Itsuki to give them the signal to reboot. Kazuki/Itsuki reminded them they said they'd always be together, and Rebootmon confirmed it, as their souls would always remain by Kazuki/Itsuki's and Naoto's side. With that acknowledged, Kazuki/Itsuki gave the order. Rebootmon thanked Kazuki/Itsuki and Naoto and told them they were glad to have met them.
The reboot succeeded, vanishing the Chaos AR-Field and the infected Appmon, alongside the Buddy Appmon. Yukari tried to comfort Mio only to break down into tears herself. Makoto couldn't believe that Yadomon would disappear just when he decided to stay an Appli Driver. Kayo tried to get everyone to cheer up as the system and the world had been saved, and their Buddies would be sad too if they were. Naoto blamed himself for everything and said he intended to make up for it. Kazuki/Itsuki took responsibility too. However, the Buddy Appmon then returned, with Bootmon and Shutmon separated. The credits then roll.
Makoto is one of the possible opponents for Kazuki/Itsuki in the Rankers' Match tournament. There, he tells Kazuki/Itsuki he's been waiting for them and to accept this rematch. He uses his Buddy Appmon, now Sateramon, and Beautymon, all Applinked with Scorpmon. He also uses Ouranosmon for Appli Skills.
