Yukari attends Hifumigaoka Middle School and is friends with Mio. She is the Cyber Arena's E-Rank Master. She's known as the Angel of the Infirmary due to spending a lot of time there and helping others heal in it, thanks to her Buddy Appmon, Aidmon.

After fixing their door from Flickmon (System)'s attack and leaving their house, Kazuki/Itsuki got intercepted by Yukari while going to the Cyber Arena, who forced them to go help a woman while she left to another location.

After clearing the High-End GP (E-Rank) Tournament, Kazuki/Itsuki was told by MCmon that the E-Rank Master was Yukari, who was in Hifumigaoka Middle School. They went to the school to look for her, where they met up with Mio, who introduced Yukari as a famous 3rd year student. However, they couldn't find her at all in her classroom so Mio suggested the infirmary as she was called the Angel of the Infirmary as she spent a lot of time there despite being healthy, and her being there made others feel better, making her an iyashikei. Yukari wasn't there either so Kazuki/Itsuki instead asked the Batterimon there if Yukari went to the infirmary often to charge her Appli Drive. Batterimon tried to explain that that was only one of the reasons why she did, and the other was related to her Buddy Appmon, but couldn't finish the explanation as Mio arrived, having found Yukari in her classroom.

Kazuki/Itsuki met with both girls in the hall leading to the classroom, where Mio introduced Yukari. Kazuki/Itsuki recognized her from earlier but didn't know how to ask her for their "favour" as Mio was there, only for Yukari to openly talk about the Ranker battle to Kazuki/Itsuki's surprise as they hadn't even brought forth the topic. Mio didn't know what that was so Kazuki/Itsuki vaguely explained it was like a type of game. Mio was annoyed that they had kept a game secret from her and wanted to play too, so Yukari took the chance to ask her to leave for a moment. Mio thought that meant Yukari intended to show her how the game worked by watching a battle from a distance. Afterwards, Yukari confessed she already had known about Kazuki/Itsuki for a while as Makoto told her about them, leaving Kazuki/Itsuki surprised about his network. Onmon then Appliarised, wanting to connect Kazuki/Itsuki with Yukari. While Kazuki/Itsuki were worried Mio would see him, Onmon knew he was safe as his location was hidden from Mio's view. Regardless, Yukari left for her classroom as her Appli Drive was there. However, an emergency shutter then came down, separating Yukari and Mio from Kazuki/Itsuki and Onmon. Kazuki/Itsuki thought an Appmon was behind it and Yukari thought it may be related to the earlier doors incident, confusing Mio. Protecmon then exclaimed that it was quarantining harmful apps to purge them so Yukari and Kazuki/Itsuki decided to investigate the school's security system as the quest "School Security Investigation". Kazuki/Itsuki ordered Mio to stay with Yukari but Mio instead ran away, deciding to investigate on her own so Yukari followed her.

Mio, Yukari and Kazuki/Itsuki talked to each other once again after the latter defeated Tapmon (System) and obtained the Blue Unlock Code. They were still in different floors, so Kazuki/Itsuki told them to wait there while they went to the roof to take on the culprit. However, Mio instead decided to go to the roof herself, dragging Yukari with her. The duo joined up with Kazuki/Itsuki after they defeated Protecmon. While both were worried for them, Yukari realized that everything was already over, once again confusing Mio. While Kazuki/Itsuki once again wondered how to deal with the topic, Yukari openly asked if the culprit was an Appmon and if it was Protecmon or Pipomon. She then explained to Mio what Appmon were. Mio was now angry at Kazuki/Itsuki and Naoto for keeping this from her while Kazuki/Itsuki was angry at Yukari for revealing all of that to Mio, who wasn't an Appli Driver. Yukari said she "slipped up". Mio wanted an Appli Drive for herself but Kazuki/Itsuki didn't really know how to get one, as they had gotten theirs by chance. Mio still wanted to be able to see the Appmon so Kazuki/Itsuki Appliarised Logimon, then Yukari did the same with Aidmon. Kazuki/Itsuki realized that Yukari was often in the infirmary because her Buddy Appmon was Aidmon. Mio now wanted an Appli Drive more than ever so she decided to become an "Appli Drive seeker" and Logimon decided to root for her. The group then returned home.

After returning home, Yukari called Kazuki/Itsuki and apologised for forgetting about the Ranker battle then asked them to go to the school to do it. There, Yukari asked Kazuki/Itsuki to stop talking so politely to her as, even though she was their senior at both school and as an Appli Driver, right now they were rivals. With that said, Yukari called MCmon to have him set up the Remote Cyber Arena, though as MCmon pointed out, they were close enough to just fight in the real Cyber Arena, but Yukari thought a battle in the open was more exciting.

After Appliarising, Yukari explained Kazuki/Itsuki the "Overclock" status effect. For the battle, Yukari uses Aidmon, Puzzlemon, and Dopemon; all Applinked with Sleepmon. She also uses Yadomon for Appli Skills. After the fight, Yukari praised Kazuki/Itsuki and Logimon, realizing what Makoto saw in them, and encouraged them to push beyond D-Rank as she cheered for them, for Makoto's sake. Before Yukari could explain what that meant, Logimon suddenly screamed, realizing he forgot what he had found deep inside the school's system: a message for them that said "don't go any deeper". After that, Yukari merely told Kazuki/Itsuki to go talk to MCmon to continue ranking up.

Later on, Yukari joined up with Kazuki/Itsuki and Mio and informed Kazuki/Itsuki about a commotion at Blossom Park. Yukari had checked herself but couldn't find the Appmon responsible, so she asked them for their help, which they agreed to give.

After Kazuki/Itsuki obtained the C-Rank Voucher, he talked to Naoto. Mio and Yukari then showed up, the former screaming at her older brother that he was wrong and had never been alone, with her, Kazuki/Itsuki, and his Appmon by his side. Naoto was shocked Mio knew about Appmon and blamed Kazuki/Itsuki for telling her, though Yukari confessed she had done it. Regardless, Naoto was still angry at Kazuki/Itsuki for getting Mio into Appmon battles as she couldn't see Appmon, so she might end up in any kind of danger. Mio believed all Appmon were good and she had already befriended some of them, but Naoto ordered her to stay away from Appmon as they were dangerous. Both siblings screamed at each other and Naoto left. Yukari knew Naoto wasn't wrong but still believed he was being overprotective. Mio confessed that a long time ago, she had gone camping with Naoto and Kazuki/Itsuki and almost drowned in the river. Due to that, Mio was hospitalized for a short time. Despite that, Naoto blamed himself for not being able to save her, became deeply depressed, and started rejecting everyone. This was also the time their family left Hifumigaoka. Neither Kazuki/Itsuki nor Mio understood why Naoto took it so hard, but regardless, Mio worried for her big brother and left to look for him.

After becoming an Appli Driver, Mio ran all around the Cyber Arena, with Tutomon totally incapable of stopping her and MCmon vainly attempting to explain the Cyber Arena to her. Kazuki/Itsuki managed to calm her down. Despite her wildness, Yukari and MCmon were happy for her. Mio then left for the school to meet with Protecmon and Pipomon, with Tutomon rushing behind her, to MCmon's annoyance. After she left, Makoto complained about how noisy she made the Cyber Arena. Yukari and Makoto both agreed that she could get lost in an AR Dungeon while looking for Protecmon and Pipomon so Kazuki/Itsuki offered to go with her as the quest "Before She Gets Lost". Despite that, both Makoto and Yukari shared Mio's happiness.

Appli Drivers meet for the C-Rank battle.

As the C-Rank Master, Kayo challenged Kazuki/Itsuki in the Cyber Arena. Kazuki/Itsuki was surprised she was her C-Rank Master though Yukari thought they already knew. Kazuki/Itsuki exclaimed they thought that nothing was disclosed about the Rank Masters until the challengers got their vouchers but Yukari denied this and explained the B-Rank Master was Kagefumi. However, before she could state the A-Rank Master's name, Makoto stopped her, arguing it was more fun for Kazuki/Itsuki to find out themself.

Yukari and Makoto showed up at the Cyber Arena while it was going through a major communication outage just as Kazuki/Itsuki had to fight the High-End GP (A-Rank). She stayed silent while Makoto, Ouji, Naoto, and Kazuki/Itsuki talked about the situation. After all the rest left, she apologized to Kazuki/Itsuki for being useless at such a critical moment but her Appli Drive was also suffering from the outage.

Yukari and Mio joined Kazuki/Itsuki on the school's roof's AR-Field after they defeated Roamon, confirming the Chaos AR-Field had disappeared and the Cyber Arena was back to normal. She then witnessed another fight between Naoto and Kazuki/Itsuki. Off-screen, Yukari then told Makoto about all that had happened.

Yukari also watched the livestream of Makoto and Naoto's Ranker fight, which, as she told Kazuki/Itsuki afterwards, left her worried that Makoto may quit as an Appli Driver. Yukari then gave Kazuki/Itsuki more details about Makoto's past, about how he loved battles and was known as the Rising Star, had never lost since his debut, and was authorized to battle the Champion. However, this only meant he was unaccustomed to defeat and losing to Ouji hit him all the harder, making him stop aiming higher as he had been shown a wall he could never overcome. This led him to settle into his position as the A-Rank Master and rarely battle otherwise. He also confided to Yukari that he planned to quit, but then he met Kazuki/Itsuki, who resembled his past self and had fun again. However, the Makoto Yukari saw in the livestream was the gloomy one of the past, the one that wanted to quit. Yukari then told Kazuki/Itsuki they may be the only one that can stop Makoto, who tended to go to the riverbank on Nikotamagawa's south side when he wanted to be alone.

After Kazuki/Itsuki defeated Makoto, they went back to the Cyber Arena, which had gone down after an even worse network failure. Yukari and Mio then joined them, terrified, and explained the Chaos AR-Field was spreading across all of Hifumigaoka. After confirming with their own eyes the situation, Kazuki/Itsuki and Makoto went back to the Cyber Arena to discuss the situation with the rest. While the Cyber Arena hadn't received further damage, the effects were so obvious that even non-Appli Drivers were panicking. Kazuki/Itsuki wondered if the Chaos AR-Field had spread even beyond Hifumigaoka. A terrified Kagefumi then joined them, though the mere fact that he had left his house distracted Kazuki/Itsuki and made them really happy for him. Kagefumi explained that, after their battle, he had been thinking of what he wanted to do and who he wanted to be, and his answer was that he wanted to be an Appli Driver, so he couldn't hide in his room during such a serious crisis. Kagefumi didn't understand what said crisis was though, but the abnormalities had reached Yongendori. Of course, he also didn't know what a Chaos AR-Field was, so Kazuki/Itsuki quoted Ouji's explanation verbatim. Kagefumi then explained that, while the AR-Field hadn't visibly changed like in Hifumigaoka, parts of it had nonetheless changed and rampaging Appmon appeared, and the Craftmon patrol reported the same, so it was probably starting to turn into a Chaos AR-Field. Kazuki/Itsuki remembered Jammingmon said the previous Chaos AR-Field was caused by a Chaos Gate and imagined the same was true here. Makoto knew there had to be Chaos Gates in Hifumigaoka and Yongendori but there may be more elsewhere too. Yukari wished Ouji and Kayo were there to help, and Mio thought the same of Naoto, who they couldn't even contact due to Appli Talk being down. Makoto had Kazuki/Itsuki look in Hifumigaoka and Yongendori while the rest split up and searched for other Chaos Gates. Everyone enthusiastically agreed, except Kagefumi who couldn't keep up with their energy. Yukari and Mio left first.

Yukari and Aidmon got to the Chaos Gate in Hifumigaoka's Fountain Park first. Kazuki/Itsuki and Bootmon arrived after them, finding them with a Tapmon (Tool) who was hurt by rampaging Appmon. While they were trying to help it, it was close to death and they kept getting attacked by rampaging Appmon, like an infected Consulmon which spawned and went after Kazuki/Itsuki. After defeating it, Yukari and Aidmon thanked Kazuki/Itsuki and Bootmon for their help. They then explained how they waited for them to arrive at the Chaos Gate but they weren't strong enough to deal with the rampaging Appmon and then they met the Tapmon who wasn't affected by the Chaos AR-Field and fought alongside them. Now safe, Aidmon healed Tapmon, who then went to hide. Makoto then joined them, justifying his lateness because he first went to Nikotamagawa and Mihamakou, confirming the former had no active Chaos Gate, so the one they deactivated earlier was likely the one meant for that area. However, Mihamakou did have a Chaos Gate, so Makoto asked Ryouji and the Mihama Gang to look for it. Meanwhile, Makoto and Yukari would guard the Hifumigaoka Chaos Gate so no more rampaging Appmon could get near it while Kazuki/Itsuki deactivated it. After doing so, Yukari and Makoto celebrated Kazuki/Itsuki's achievement, but they were more focused on the log Bootmon found inside the Chaos Gate, a trace of whoever created it. Yukari was shocked that the Chaos Gate was the work of someone, while Makoto realized the log was the same as the password they found earlier. Both Makoto and Kazuki/Itsuki reached the same conclusion but decided not to pursue it without further proof, keeping Yukari unaware of how said password was "OUJI". They also decided to prioritize the Chaos Gates in Mihamakou and Yongendori. Makoto decided to decipher the log and asked Yukari for her help while Kazuki/Itsuki took care of the remaining Chaos Gates.
