Burst (バースト, Bāsuto), also known as Appli Burst (アプリバースト, Apuri Bāsuto) in Digimon Universe Appli Monsters (3DS), is a temporary power-up that enhances an Appmon's capabilities. Its activation conditions and effects differ between the Appli Drive Toy and the Nintendo 3DS game.

Burst can be activated during the Appliarise sequence by rapidly pressing either the A or B button on the side of the device. Upon successful activation, the LCD backlight turns red, the screen displays "BURST", and the device announces "Burst!". The backlight then cycles through several colors before displaying the Appmon's enhanced Power value.

The resulting Power value exceeds the Appmon's normal value. For example, Gatchmon can reach a Power value of 1,100 through Burst, compared with its normal value of 1,000.

Power values obtained through Burst are also eligible for inclusion in Ranking Mode, which records the five highest Power values achieved through Appliarise and AppLink. Burst-enhanced AppLink combinations can therefore also appear in the device's rankings.

Digimon Universe Appli Monsters (3DS)

Appli Burst is a battle mechanic that may activate when an Appli Driver's remaining battery power becomes low. It provides an opportunity to recover from a disadvantaged position, although reaching a low battery level does not guarantee its activation.

When an Appmon enters the Appli Burst state, all of its stats are significantly increased and its HP is fully restored. The combination of recovery and enhanced stats can allow it to withstand further attacks and turn the battle in its user's favor. Buddy Appmon and Appmon designated as favorites have a slightly higher chance of activating Appli Burst than other Appmon.
