Profile[edit]
Mio is Naoto's sister and Kazuki/Itsuki's childhood friend. Although she was not an Appli Driver at first, she learned about Appmon and became one during the events of the game when Tutomon became her Buddy Appmon. She is often seen playing with her smartphone and looks up anything that interests her right away.
She especially enjoys playing with the main character and Naoto. After becoming an Appli Driver, she also enjoys playing with Appmon and battling against the main character. When playing fighting games with her brother, Mio always wins by a landslide. Her favorite food is cream puffs with lots of custard.

Digimon Universe Appli Monsters[edit]
At the beginning of the game, Mio went to Kazuki/Itsuki's house to ask them to check on Naoto, as he was acting weird and wouldn't pay attention to her but surely would to his best friend, even though Kazuki/Itsuki had lost contact with him. After learning about Appmon and becoming an Appli Driver, Kazuki/Itsuki lied to Mio and said they couldn't contact Naoto, as they didn't want to reveal the existence of Appmon to her.
Later on, Mio's smartphone stopped working. To fix it, Kazuki/Itsuki dived into the AR Dungeon that formed in it and defeated Virusmon, who caused the issue. They also met Gatchmon there, who explained that Mio had it running all over as she kept searching things.
While looking for the E-Rank Master at Hifumigaoka Middle School, Kazuki/Itsuki met with Mio instead, who decided to stick with Kazuki/Itsuki as she realized they were hiding something from her, even if she couldn't tell what. Kazuki/Itsuki gave up on getting rid of her and instead asked her about Yukari. Mio explained that Yukari was a famous 3rd year student and told Kazuki/Itsuki to look for her in the 3rd year classroom. Mio then left before Kazuki/Itsuki to find out what they truly wanted from her as they merely said they wanted a favour. However, Yukari was not in her classroom so Mio suggested the infirmary as she was called the Angel of the Infirmary as she spent a lot of time there despite being healthy, and her being there made others feel better, making her an iyashikei. Mio then left for the infirmary.
Mio managed to find Yukari as Kazuki/Itsuki questioned the infirmary's Batterimon, which forced them to leave the AR-Field to talk to her. This left them somewhat panicked which Mio picked up on. Regardless, Mio told them Yukari was back at her classroom then left for it once more. Kazuki/Itsuki met with both girls in the hall leading to the classroom, where Mio introduced Yukari. Kazuki/Itsuki recognized her from earlier but didn't know how to ask her for their "favour" as Mio was there, only for Yukari to openly talk about the Ranker battle to Kazuki/Itsuki's surprise as they hadn't even brought forth the topic. Mio didn't know what that was so Kazuki/Itsuki vaguely explained it was like a type of game. Mio was annoyed that they had kept a game secret from her and wanted to play too, so Yukari took the chance to ask her to leave for a moment. Mio thought that meant Yukari intended to show her how the game worked by watching a battle from a distance.
After Yukari went to her classroom to look for her Appli Drive, an emergency shutter came down, separating Yukari and Mio from Kazuki/Itsuki and Onmon. Kazuki/Itsuki thought an Appmon was behind it and Yukari thought it may be related to the earlier doors incident, confusing Mio. The following events only confused her further. Kazuki/Itsuki ordered her to stay with Yukari but Mio instead ran away, deciding to investigate on her own so Yukari followed her.
Mio, Yukari and Kazuki/Itsuki talked to each other once again after the latter defeated Tapmon (System) and obtained the Blue Unlock Code. They were still in different floors, so Kazuki/Itsuki told them to wait there while they went to the roof to take on the culprit. However, Mio instead decided to go to the roof herself, dragging Yukari with her. The duo joined up with Kazuki/Itsuki after they defeated Protecmon. While both were worried for them, Yukari realized that everything was already over, once again confusing Mio. While Kazuki/Itsuki once again wondered how to deal with the topic, Yukari openly asked if the culprit was an Appmon and if it was Protecmon or Pipomon. She then explained to Mio what Appmon were. Mio was now angry at Kazuki/Itsuki and Naoto for keeping this from her while Kazuki/Itsuki was angry at Yukari for revealing all of that to Mio, who wasn't an Appli Driver. Yukari said she "slipped up". Mio wanted an Appli Drive for herself but Kazuki/Itsuki didn't really know how to get one, as they had gotten theirs by chance. Mio still wanted to be able to see the Appmon so Kazuki/Itsuki Appliarised Logimon, then Yukari did the same with Aidmon. Kazuki/Itsuki realized that Yukari was often in the infirmary because her Buddy Appmon was Aidmon. Mio now wanted an Appli Drive more than ever so she decided to become an "Appli Drive seeker" and Logimon decided to root for her. The group then returned home.
Mio looked for Kazuki/Itsuki afterwards. When they met up again, Mio told them and Logimon that she had talked to Yukari about a lot of things, then asked them if they were going to the Cyber Arena and battled with Appmon there. Kazuki/Itsuki explained it was exciting to do so and climb up the ranks, so Mio asked them if they had fought Naoto, which they had once but he otherwise refused to battle them, hence why they were working hard on getting stronger so Naoto couldn't ignore them. Mio wanted to go to the Cyber Arena too but she'd need an Appli Drive to do so. Nonetheless, she was fine with that, as it meant Naoto wasn't alone but accompanied by the Appmon. Kazuki/Itsuki then talked about how much Naoto had changed, he was calmer in the past, didn't care about getting stronger, and relied heavily on Kazuki/Itsuki. Mio wondered if his change started when they left town due to their dad's work. It was then when Naoto became twisted and lonely. Mio hoped being with Appmon would fix him and then he'd play with Kazuki/Itsuki again. Kazuki/Itsuki promised to climb up the ranks quickly to reach up to Naoto and Mio believed the three of them could play together again then. Yukari then joined up with them and informed Kazuki/Itsuki about a commotion at Blossom Park. Yukari had checked herself but couldn't find the Appmon responsible, so she asked them for their help, which they agreed to give.
After Kazuki/Itsuki obtained the C-Rank Voucher, he talked to Naoto. Mio and Yukari then showed up, the former screaming at her older brother that he was wrong and had never been alone, with her, Kazuki/Itsuki, and his Appmon by his side. Naoto was shocked Mio knew about Appmon and blamed Kazuki/Itsuki for telling her, though Yukari confessed she had done it. Regardless, Naoto was still angry at Kazuki/Itsuki for getting Mio into Appmon battles as she couldn't see Appmon, so she might end up in any kind of danger. Mio believed all Appmon were good and she had already befriended some of them, but Naoto ordered her to stay away from Appmon as they were dangerous. Both siblings screamed at each other and Naoto left. Yukari knew Naoto wasn't wrong but still believed he was being overprotective. Mio confessed that a long time ago, she had gone camping with Naoto and Kazuki/Itsuki and almost drowned in the river. Due to that, Mio was hospitalized for a short time. Despite that, Naoto blamed himself for not being able to save her, became deeply depressed, and started rejecting everyone. This was also the time their family left Hifumigaoka. Neither Kazuki/Itsuki nor Mio understood why Naoto took it so hard, but regardless, Mio worried for her big brother and left to look for him.
Mio was then kidnapped by Jammingmon, who tricked her by using a fake treasure app campaign with an Appli Drive as its prize. Jammingmon used her as a hostage to manipulate Kazuki/Itsuki and Naoto, as well as Recomon who was also tricked into believing Mio was a top idol and Kazuki/Itsuki were villains that wanted to cause her trouble.
After a long search, Naoto and Logamon finally got to the sound room in a TV store in Nikotamagawa where Mio was trapped, with Kazuki/Itsuki and Logimon soon joining them. Mio explained she couldn't get out nor contact anyone and thanked them for coming. Naoto intended to open the door but Jammingmon refused to allow it. While Naoto screamed at Jammingmon, Mio got confused because she couldn't see him as he wasn't Appliarised. Kazuki/Itsuki told Mio the bad Appmon that kidnapped her was right beside her, though Jammingmon disliked being called bad and Mio still believed he'd give her an Appli Drive. Kazuki/Itsuki explained that wasn't true and Jammingmon mocked humans for being so easily deceived, angering Kazuki/Itsuki and Naoto. Jammingmon didn't stop there, however, and decided to insult Naoto personally, calling him irresponsible for making Mio worry and want an Appli Drive. Naoto intended to fight Jammingmon for hurting Mio but he refused to fight and sent out a jamming signal to Kazuki/Itsuki and Naoto's Appli Drives so they couldn't battle. Jammingmon then revealed his plan, which he thought about from observing Mio: he'd share Appli Drives with other humans that didn't know about Appmon and wanted to do bad things so they'd cause total chaos. Mio didn't want this to happen as that'd turn Appmon into tools of evil and would make even good Appli Drivers and Appmon be seen as villains. Mio's feelings got to Tutomon, who messaged both Mio and Kazuki/Itsuki with a tutorial to handle the situation, explaining Logimon should go online to summon Recomon. He then contacted Naoto, telling him to cut the power off with Logamon once Recomon arrived so Jammingmon couldn't escape. Recomon, who then arrived, also received a message from Tutomon, in this case guiding him to broadcast Jammingmon's jamming signal at full power. Jammingmon realized it was the jamming system he had Recomon record to stop the elevator and panicked at it but Recomon went ahead with it as revenge for Jammingmon's deceit. The jamming signal forced Jammingmon to drop his cyan Appli Drive, which Tutomon then had Mio take. Through it, Tutomon Appliarised, declaring the tutorial to make Mio an Appli Driver complete. Tutomon then introduced himself, explaining he had been watching Mio from her smartphone all along, with Mio's trust in Appmon and honest heart moving his soul, so he wanted to become her Buddy Appmon. Recomon was mad because he wanted that position. Jammingmon complained that Tutomon stole his Appli Drive while Tutomon threatened to make Jammingmon pay for his misdeeds and explained his jamming signal had been neutralized by Recomon's own, allowing Kazuki/Itsuki and Naoto to battle him. However, Tutomon stopped Naoto as Logamon had to keep their place offline so Jammingmon couldn't escape, while Mio had no experience as an Appli Driver and wasn't ready to face Jammingmon, so Kazuki/Itsuki had to do it.
After being defeated, Jammingmon gave up and begged for forgiveness, but Naoto had no intentions of giving it. Logamon took that as an order to release the offline lock, which let Jammingmon escape, who promised only to bother Kazuki/Itsuki from now on. Logamon apologised but Naoto didn't care as Mio was safe. Meanwhile, Mio played with Tutomon and Recomon. Naoto was happy Mio had become an Appli Driver, though as usual, he refused to admit it, as he had tried hard to stop both Kazuki/Itsuki and Mio from becoming Appi Drivers. Regardless, he ordered Mio to avoid Appmon battles and focus on playing quietly with her Appmon, then left with Logamon. However, Mio, with Tutomon by her side, refused and challenged Kazuki/Itsuki to a battle, which they attempted to reject but ultimately didn't. MCmon then contacted them to host the battle as a special exception, though with a handicap on Kazuki/Itsuki, fully accepting he was being soft on Mio because cute girls boosted the views on battle videos. He also added some "hype" Appmon to Mio's deck as a special treat.
Mio uses Tutomon, Medicmon, and Dosukomon, all Applinked with Setmon. She also uses Roamon, Coordemon, and Yadomon for Appli Skills. At the start of the fight, Mio asks Tutomon what to do. After examining MCmon's deck, Tutomon tells her to start by using Appli Skills of many types to charge her Signature Skill gauge. Mio thinks she can easily beat Kazuki/Itsuki, which gets them not to hold back. With two Signature Skill gauges full, Tutomon tells Mio to deal the finishing blow with AppGattai. At this point, she switches to Addmon + Mailmon, which form Sociamon and instantly perform Heavy Gift.
Despite losing, Mio found the battle really fun, as did Logimon. Tutomon thought it was proof of Mio's talent as an Appli Driver while Recomon intended for its live video to be his lifelong treasure. Mio promised to battle more, be it Kazuki/Itsuki, Yukari, or anyone else, and wondered if she could battle Naoto too. Kazuki/Itsuki knew they'd get along again someday. They then headed back to Hifumigaoka. There, Mio exclaimed how happy she was and how she wanted to tell Yukari and see the Cyber Arena. She then left to do the latter.
In the Cyber Arena, Mio ran all around, with Tutomon totally incapable of stopping her and MCmon vainly attempting to explain the Cyber Arena to her. Kazuki/Itsuki managed to calm her down. Despite her wildness, Yukari and MCmon were happy for her. Mio then left for the school to meet with Protecmon and Pipomon, with Tutomon rushing behind her, to MCmon's annoyance. While Kazuki/Itsuki then thought she got lost inside the school's AR-Field, in reality she just went to talk to Protecmon and decided to stay with him a bit longer while Kazuki/Itsuki returned to the Cyber Arena, thus finishing the quest "Before She Gets Lost". Mio then asked Kazuki/Itsuki if the High-End GP was going well but Kazuki/Itsuki couldn't find the C-Rank Master so Mio suggested they should go talk to MCmon again.
After beating Kayo, Kazuki/Itsuki returned to the Cyber Arena where Mio was complaining to MCmon about being unable to battle due to a network outage. Mio then revealed that was stopping her F-Ranker battle, to Kazuki/Itsuki's surprise. Mio thought she had reached it that fast because she inherited Naoto's Appli Driver talent. Regardless, she intended to catch up to Kazuki/Itsuki and Naoto quickly and thought a conspiracy was stopping her. Kazuki/Itsuki also intended to challenge the B-Rank, but that was fine as the Cyber Arena itself was working. While he fixed the issue, MCmon suggested to Mio that she watch Kazuki/Itsuki in battle, which Mio agreed with and Logimon enjoyed though Kazuki/Itsuki didn't feel comfortable with it. After the tournament, Mio asked MCmon if Ranker battles were fixed but they weren't, so remote battles were still a no-go and all Ranker battles would have to happen in the Cyber Arena. With that knowledge, Mio left to get the F-Rank Master, even though she didn't know that was Wakaba.
Yukari and Mio joined Kazuki/Itsuki on the school's roof's AR-Field after they defeated Roamon, confirming the Chaos AR-Field had disappeared and the Cyber Arena was back to normal. Naoto joined them soon after, explaining he had been blown quite far away so the Chaos Gate AR Dungeon was already gone by the time he came back, and was in disbelief about Kazuki/Itsuki solving the situation by themselves. Kazuki/Itsuki explained they didn't solve it alone because Bootmon and the other Appmon were there with them, and Naoto was with them too. While Mio found this amazing, Naoto got angry because he didn't and couldn't do anything. He then ran away in rage, leaving Kazuki/Itsuki and Mio behind thinking about him, and creating a huge gap between their hearts.
After Kazuki/Itsuki defeated Makoto, they went back to the Cyber Arena, which had gone down after an even worse network failure. Yukari and Mio then joined them, terrified, and explained the Chaos AR-Field was spreading across all of Hifumigaoka. After confirming with their own eyes the situation, Kazuki/Itsuki and Makoto went back to the Cyber Arena to discuss the situation with the rest. While the Cyber Arena hadn't received further damage, the effects were so obvious that even non-Appli Drivers were panicking. Kazuki/Itsuki wondered if the Chaos AR-Field had spread even beyond Hifumigaoka. A terrified Kagefumi then joined them, though the mere fact that he had left his house distracted Kazuki/Itsuki and made them really happy for him. Kagefumi explained that, after their battle, he had been thinking of what he wanted to do and who he wanted to be, and his answer was that he wanted to be an Appli Driver, so he couldn't hide in his room during such a serious crisis. Kagefumi didn't understand what said crisis was though, but the abnormalities had reached Yongendori. Of course, he also didn't know what a Chaos AR-Field was, so Kazuki/Itsuki quoted Ouji's explanation verbatim. Kagefumi then explained that, while the AR-Field hadn't visibly changed like in Hifumigaoka, parts of it had nonetheless changed and rampaging Appmon appeared, and the Craftmon patrol reported the same, so it was probably starting to turn into a Chaos AR-Field. Kazuki/Itsuki remembered Jammingmon said the previous Chaos AR-Field was caused by a Chaos Gate and imagined the same was true here. Makoto knew there had to be Chaos Gates in Hifumigaoka and Yongendori but there may be more elsewhere too. Yukari wished Ouji and Kayo were there to help, and Mio thought the same of Naoto, who they couldn't even contact due to Appli Talk being down. Makoto had Kazuki/Itsuki look in Hifumigaoka and Yongendori while the rest split up and searched for other Chaos Gates. Everyone enthusiastically agreed, except Kagefumi who couldn't keep up with their energy. Yukari and Mio left first.
Mio and Kagefumi reached the Yongendori Chaos Gate before Kazuki/Itsuki did. During the time before they joined them, Kagefumi found out there was a programmatic block that stopped them from entering the Chaos Gate's AR Dungeon. However, Mio and Kagefumi were ready to try something else, namely, leaving it to Craftmon, who reverse-engineered the block, which he saw as nowhere near enough to repay Kazuki/Itsuki for saving Kagefumi. However, before they could go in, a red symbol Appmon spawned from the Chaos Gate and attacked Mio, though it was stopped by the newly-arrived Naoto and Shutmon. Afterwards, Naoto was greatly angered with Kazuki/Itsuki for, in his eyes, putting Mio in serious danger, so she had to point out she wanted to help. This calmed him down somewhat, though he still stated he couldn't leave protecting Mio to Kazuki/Itsuki so he'd take care of her while they deactivated the Chaos Gate. Naoto allowed Kagefumi to go too but he decided to stay behind as he was worried about Mio with Naoto alone protecting her. Naoto was pleasantly surprised at Kagefumi speaking his mind. Mio was glad Kazuki/Itsuki was right about Naoto appearing when she was in trouble and truly believed they knew him better than anyone. After Kazuki/Itsuki deactivated it, Kagefumi praised them while Mio and Naoto were glad it was stopped. Kazuki/Itsuki was left thinking about the three password pieces they had found in the Chaos Gates: "0UJ", but rejected telling Mio about it.
After Rebootmon explained his mad plan in the Teito Security laptop AR-Field, Mio called, screaming that she knew Naoto since far before Rebootmon did and wouldn't let him make a world for only them. Alongside her were the Rank Masters Yukari, Makoto and Kagefumi. Ouji also proclaimed they would protect the world, even against a God Appmon. Rebootmon explained that, as the fusion of Shutmon and Bootmon, he possessed both the ability to cut Appmon off and steal their power. With that, he took everyone's Appmon, and cut the connection with Mio and the rest. He then once again beckoned Naoto to go with him to a world without Kazuki/Itsuki where they wouldn't need to rely on anyone. Naoto agreed but with one condition: return all of Kazuki/Itsuki's Appmon, as if he had to not rely on Kazuki/Itsuki, then Rebootmon couldn't rely on their Appmon either. Rebootmon agreed and released them, including Bootmon, which to Ouji's surprise didn't make him revert, thanks to his ability to reboot and restore which instantly regenerated Bootmon's part, making him unneeded. Naoto told Kazuki/Itsuki this was his problem to solve then left with Rebootmon to go into the system.
With the two gone, Kazuki/Itsuki, Ouji and Kayo returned to the Real World where Mio and the Rank Masters were. Ouji's laptop was replaced with the proper Chaos Gate, and Ouji knew that's where Naoto and Rebootmon were but only Kazuki/Itsuki could follow them, as no one else had Appmon anymore. There, Mio asked Kazuki/Itsuki where Naoto and Tutomon went.
As Kazuki/Itsuki prepared to enter the AR Dungeon, Ouji asked them if they were going to save Naoto. Kayo reminded them that they had to save the world, but they should save their precious friend too. Makoto accepted it was all up to them again. Yukari was certain they would succeed. Kagefumi knew that their side that helped others even when told not to was what saved him and what would save Naoto. Mio wondered if it was her fault that Naoto had changed and begged Kazuki/Itsuki to save him, promising not to be selfish anymore. Bootmon had been saved by Naoto and wanted to return the favour. With all of those feelings riding on their back, Kazuki/Itsuki and Bootmon entered the AR Dungeon.
The intense fight between the two Rebootmon pushed Kazuki/Itsuki and Naoto back to the Real World and removed the Chaos Gate. Ouji asked them if that meant Rebootmon was defeated and they tried to explain the situation as much as they understood it. Rebootmon then called Kazuki/Itsuki, who confirmed the virus-infected Rebootmon was defeated, though the Chaos AR-Field was still active and the virus-infected Appmon rampage was still ongoing, as Kayo confirmed. Ouji stated it was because the deepest parts of the system had been corrupted by the Chaos Gate and the infected Rebootmon spread the virus worldwide. Rebootmon could undo it with their powers of regeneration and rebooting though, returning the system to the state before it was corrupted. While Mio thought that was amazing, Ouji pointed out that the system contined the Artificial Intelligence of all the Appmon in the area, so resetting it could mean their Appmon would disappear, Rebootmon included. Oujamon stated the Buddy Appmon were aware of the risk, however, and chose to entrust everything to Rebootmon. Mio begged Rebootmon not to do it as Tutomon may disappear, but Tutomon found the request too heartbreaking, as this was something they were all prepared for. Mio cried out they finally got to meet and be together. Rebootmon asked Kazuki/Itsuki to give them the signal to reboot. Kazuki/Itsuki reminded them they said they'd always be together, and Rebootmon confirmed it, as their souls would always remain by Kazuki/Itsuki's and Naoto's side. With that acknowledged, Kazuki/Itsuki gave the order. Rebootmon thanked Kazuki/Itsuki and Naoto and told them they were glad to have met them.
The reboot succeeded, vanishing the Chaos AR-Field and the infected Appmon, alongside the Buddy Appmon. Yukari tried to comfort Mio only to break down into tears herself. Makoto couldn't believe that Yadomon would disappear just when he decided to stay an Appli Driver. Kayo tried to get everyone to cheer up as the system and the world had been saved, and their Buddies would be sad too if they were. Naoto blamed himself for everything and said he intended to make up for it. Kazuki/Itsuki took responsibility too. However, the Buddy Appmon then returned, with Bootmon and Shutmon separated. The credits then roll.
