Profile

Ryouji lives in Mihamakou and is the leader of the Mihama Gang. He is the Cyber Arena's D-Rank Master. He is a passionate man who values humanity and justice to a degree rarely seen these days, and he is very popular as a leader. According to Gatchmon's search, he is a fan of Appliyama 470's idol Karan Eri.

At some point before Kazuki/Itsuki reached the D Rank, Naoto defeated Ryouji, turning himself into an enemy of the Mihama Gang.

After clearing the High-End GP (D-Rank), MCmon sent Kazuki/Itsuki to look for the D-Rank Master, Ryouji. Kazuki/Itsuki quickly found themself in the same situation after the Mihama Gang thought they had caused the Water Quality Lab incident and were a lackey or ally of Naoto's, rather than their friend. As such, they were not allowed to reach Ryouji, either for the Ranker battle or to explain the situation, and had to pass the Mihama Gang's trials (which Ryouji's Buddy Appmon, Kosomon, let them take) to meet with him.

The Mihama Gang member that blocked the warehouse area seemingly let Kazuki/Itsuki in to go meet with Ryouji after they cleared the trials. In reality, though, it was an ambush, and Kazuki/Itsuki and Logimon found themselves once again surrounded by Mihama Gang members. Despite clearing the trials, they couldn't forgive them for being Naoto's "ally" and decided to handle them themselves, without Ryouji. However, that very Ryouji then showed up. He was mad at his underlings' actions, as they violated rule #4: "Trust your comrades". Ryouji made it clear he'd never run or hide then interrogated Kazuki/Itsuki on the fake information in the secret forums app. While Kazuki/Itsuki tried to clear that up, Ryouji didn't care and was adamant in following rule #1: "Protect the peace of Mihamakou". He then Appliarised his Buddy Appmon, the Kosomon Kazuki/Itsuki had once helped. Kosomon congratulated Kazuki/Itsuki on passing the Mihama Gang trials then explained to Ryouji who Kazuki/Itsuki were, proving they weren't a villain. Kazuki/Itsuki explained they were only in Mihamakou for the D-Ranker battle and the Water Quality Lab incident was caused by an infected Weathermon which they stopped. Kosomon confirmed Weathermon testified the same on his secret forums app. With that, Ryouji was now fully convinced Kazuki/Itsuki was an important guest who had protected the town and was therefore subject to rule #5: "Treat guests with care". The other Mihama Gang members apologised and left. Ryouji then apologised himself and both Appli Drivers shifted their attention to the D-Ranker battle. MCmon then contacted them and summoned the Remote Cyber Arena.

Ryouji opens the battle by having Kosomon and Newsmon perform AppGattai into Gossipmon. He then explains he knows about the strength of Applink better than anyone as it was the strength of bonds, of connections, just like community. As such, this battle was a clash between each side's bonds. He follows Gossipmon with Weatherdramon, Sociamon, and Gossipmon, all Applinked with Tubumon. He also uses Effecmon for Appli Skills.

After Ryouji's loss and Kazuki/Itsuki's promotion to C-Rank, the Mihama Gang members showed up again, moved by their battle. Ryouji was sure Kazuki/Itsuki and Logimon could grow even stronger but they shouldn't rely just on their strength and Appmon Battles were not only about proving said strength. The Mihama Gang explained that he was talking about Naoto, who mocked Ryouji, saying that sticking with friends was what weaklings did. Ryouji disagreed, however, as friends made up for each other's weaknesses and shared their joy together. His words didn't reach Naoto, however, who believed that weaklings could never beat true strength, no matter how many gathered together. They then fought, with Naoto's way of battling feeling fierce and intense, outpowering Ryouji in a crushing, merciless victory. Naoto then left without even saying goodbye, as if he considered Ryouji beneath him. This went against the Mihama Gang's beliefs, that friends should rely on each other to achieve victory and support each other when in trouble, and Naoto mocked them for it. Ryouji realized in their battle that Kazuki/Itsuki understood the importance of relying on friends and gave Kazuki/Itsuki a Member Badge. As a member of the Mihama Gang, the rest would now help them whenever they needed it.

As they had to look out for a new infected Appmon incident in Mihamakou, Kazuki/Itsuki went to Ryouji for information. However, neither Ryouji nor Kosomon knew about it, so Kosomon searched the secret forums and found news about strange outfits becoming a trend, that after the Weathermon incident, a red-brick clothing store that used to sell popular fashion outfits instead started only selling strange ones, troubling its customers. Kazuki/Itsuki and Logimon decided to go check the store so Ryouji asked them if they wanted the Mihama Gang's help, but Kazuki/Itsuki refused it as this was a challenge against the C-Rank Master, Kayo. Regardless, Ryouji told him the Mihama Gang was always ready to help.

After Kazuki/Itsuki stopped Calendamon in the sub quest "Lady Eri is Here", Ryouji along with three Mihama Gang members showed up in her phone's AR Dungeon as Ryouji had seen a rumour that Karan Eri was in Mihamakou. All of them were surprised to find the real deal there and she told them that Kazuki/Itsuki was working as her manager/bodyguard. The rest of the Mihama Gang were very jealous of them for that and Ryouji challenged them to a battle for the role, even though Kazuki/Itsuki was completely fine with just giving it to him. Eri's Buddy Appmon, Dokamon, then joined the battle and defeated the Mihama Gang, leaving only Kazuki/Itsuki.

With Kazuki/Itsuki's victory, Ryouji admitted they were the best for the job and accepted being happy just getting to talk to Eri which his underlings shared. Eri threatening them with a Dokkan Punch made it the best day of their life. Kazuki/Itsuki was shocked at how differently Ryouji acted around Eri. The Mihama Gang wished for Eri to have a good time in Mihamakou then left.

During the Chaos Gate incident, Makoto asked Ryouji and the Mihama Gang to look for the Chaos Gate in Mihamakou. Ryouji and Kosomon found it in the warehouse area thanks to everyone's efforts. However, Ryouji thought only Kazuki/Itsuki could deactivate it. Before they could, however, Wakaba joined in, sure that they could fix the problem with the power of his Buddy Appmon, Gashamon. Gashamon then spawned in and Wakaba explained he could use his gashapon ability to pull out whatever would be most helpful to Kazuki/Itsuki, which they thought would be a huge help. Wakaba then switched to his evil overlord persona and, after laughing evilly, ordered Gashamon to show his true strength. However, Gashamon just pulled out trash, so Wakaba snapped back to his real personality in panic as he asked Gashamon to keep trying, only for even more useless junk to come out of him. Wakaba then got defensive and stated there was no way something so convenient could just pop out. Ryouji criticized him for getting defensive and asked why he had even come. Wakaba wondered if someone like him could help and thought that maybe he could be useful somehow despite the danger, hence why he went all the way to Mihamakou with Gashamon. Ryouji complimented Wakaba's Appli Driver spirit that wouldn't lose even to the Champion, proclaimed he would not let anyone deny it, and accepted Wakaba as a member of the Mihama Gang as his spirit had exceeded the gang's trials. Ryouji then offered himself and the Mihama Gang's new Ultra Rookie to stand guard and ordered Kazuki/Itsuki, as a member of the Mihama Gang, to deactivate the Chaos Gate. After they did so, Ryouji praised them and Wakaba was happy about it. Bootmon wanted praise too and Ryouji and Kosomon gave it to him as well, the latter proclaiming both Appmon to be proud members of the Mihama Gang. However, Wakaba saw that Kazuki/Itsuki wasn't happy, as they were deep in thought about the completed password of the Chaos Gates, "0UJ1", but once more they refused to talk about it and instead said that Mihamakou could now rest at ease. Ryouji agreed, though as they couldn't know what would happen next, Wakaba and him would keep defending Mihamakou. They all then left.
