An Appmon Chip (アプモンチップ, Apumon Chippu) is the form an Appmon assumes in the Real World, or when they are exhausted or have been defeated in combat. Through the use of a device such as an Appli Drive, they can Appliarise from their Chips.

Structure

All Chips are square with rounded corners. The center features the image of the Appmon they belong to, while the border is the color associated with its type. Non-active Chips are entirely gray in color. When two Appmon undergo an AppGattai for the first time, a Non-active Chip (ノンアクティブチップ, Non-akutibu Chippu) of the resultant Appmon is formed.

Functions

In the Real World, Appmon can only materialize through the power of an Appli Drive. Their Chips can be used to perform AppLink and AppGattai. Super- or Ultimate-grade Chips can also be used to evolve lower-grade Appmon through Appliarise. Appli Drivers typically store their Chips inside the Appmon Band, a bracelet-like device worn on the wrist.

Appmon Chips in the game can be obtained in three ways:

• Forming an Appmon Chip from 100 Appmon Chip Fragments of the same Appmon (obtained by battling them, getting them in the AR-Field overworld or from other characters) in the Appmon Fragment Exchange menu.
• Getting a fully-formed but random Appmon Chip from Gashamon's Appmon Gasha.
• Scanning a real-life Appmon Chip's QR Code.

Once an Appmon Chip is obtained, the player can add it to any of their Appmon Decks. Adding an Appmon Chip to one deck does not exclude it from being added to other decks. Multiple copies of the same Appmon Chip can be obtained and added to any deck. An Deck can have up to 60 Appmon, including one Buddy Appmon and four Favourite Appmon.

Having an Appmon Chip in the player's main deck allows them to use them in-battle, where they have a "hand" of up to 15 Appmon Chips, drawing more every turn. The Buddy Appmon will always be drawn in the first hand and Favourite Appmon have a higher chance to appear in it. At the start of a turn, the player can use Appmon Chips for:

• Appliarise and Applink said Appmon.
• Perform an Appli Skill attack. For this, the player can select as many Appmon Chips as they want from their hand, so long as they're the same Attribute. This triggers the first Appmon's Appli Skill, then increases its power (if it's an attacking ability) or increases the Signature Gauge (if it's a suppporting ability) by 10% for each Chip used.

If the player runs out of Appmon Chips, they will be forced to pay an amount of Battery to reload their Appmon Deck.

Appmon Chips can be upgraded through the Strengthen Appmon menu. This allows them to increase their resistances to each Attribute by sacrificing 10 Chip Fragments of the same Attribute. However, an Appmon Chip can only be upgraded so many times, which can be increased by increasing the Appmon Chip's Version.

Opponent Appli Drivers and wild Appmon can use Appmon Chips in the same in-battle ways as the player.
