Digimon Universe (デジモンユニバース, Dejimon Yunibāsu) is a monster-raising role-playing video game in Digimon Universe Appli Monsters. It was popular when Shinkai Haru and his friends were young, and features Digimon such as Agumon, Etemon, Vamdemon and Diablomon as game characters.

When he was young, Shinkai Haru played Digimon Universe under the player name "Haruharuman" and raised an Agumon. Although Haru eventually stopped playing the game, Agumon continued to remember him.

Years later, Uratekumon uses its abilities to take control of characters from Digimon Universe and other video games, sending them into the real world to search for Bootmon. Because Agumon avoided Uratekumon's control, it pursues the affected characters and returns them to their respective games. This initially causes Haru and the other Appli Drivers to mistakenly believe that Agumon is responsible for the disturbances.

After encountering Haru in an AR-Field, Agumon recognizes him as Haruharuman and explains what has happened. It subsequently joins Haru and Gatchmon in confronting Uratekumon. During the battle, Haru's encouragement enables Agumon to evolve into War Greymon, which defeats Uratekumon alongside Globemon. Once the controlled game characters return to normal, Agumon leads them back into their respective games and promises to meet Haru again.
