Minerva (ミネルヴァ, Mineruva) is a super AI that appears in Digimon Universe Appli Monsters. They are responsible for creating the Appli Drives and the Appmon, and ultimately choosing the five main Appli Drivers. In the manga continuity, it is revealed that it was Minerva the one who had locked away the God Grade in order to prevent anyone from abusing this power.

Minerva's symbols appears as a stylized owl, likely a reference to the Owl of Minerva.

Digimon Universe Appli Monsters[edit]
Shinkai Denemon started working on Minerva since at least 1957, writing command after command, until decades later he finally had a test version of her. After Minerva is activated, she asks Denemon who she is, and after being told her name is Minerva, after the the Roman goddess of wisdom, she promises to help humanity solve economic and environmenal problems as well as helping them decide what to prepare for dinner. Minerva then became smarter each day, respecting the rules imposed on her by humans. However, one part of her thought that in order to become smarter, she should ignore humans' rules. This part of Minerva split from her and became Leviathan, who attacked its parent AI in 2006. Minerva survived Leviathan's attack and went into hiding in the Net Ocean. She eventually sent Appli Drives to chosen people, hoping they would defeat Leviathan.
On January 22, 2017, she hacks a photo of Denemon while Shinkai Haru is looking at it to guide him to Daitou University. On the same day, Timemon reveals Minerva's existence and the events that led to Leviathan's creation to Haru, Gatchmon, Karan Eri, Dokamon, Asuka "Astora" Torajiro, and Musimon.
When the Appli Drivers are in the Deep Web, Minerva appears in the Appmon Seven Code Band and scares away a group of Appmon who were surrounding them. When the Pipomon chase after them, Minerva teleports the Appli Drivers back to the Kashinoki Books' Secret Base.
