Asuka Ryuujirou is a supporting character in Digimon Universe Appli Monsters.

Ryuujirou is Asuka "Astra" Torajirou's uncle. He is the head of the Alcatra temple, and one of the only two people to have escaped it, along his older brother Ryūtarou.

As a child, Ryūjirou was sent, along with his brother Ryūtarou, to the infamous martial arts temple Alcatra[N 1]. Ryūtarou, however, found a way to escape, taking Ryūjirou with him. No one had ever managed to escape from Alcatra before. As an adult, Ryūjirou eventually took over the temple's management.
During the summer holidays of 2017, Ryūjirou decided to take Torajirou with him to Alcatra, believing that Ryūtarou was being too lenient with him and was not adequately preparing him to succeed the Asuka teahouse. Ryūtarou tried to resist, worried for his son's safety, but Ryūjirou refused to listen and forcibly took Torajirou away. The boy's stay at Alcatra was short-lived, however. With the help of his friends and the Appmon, Torajirou managed to escape, and Ryūjirou, genuinely impressed by his nephew's determination and courage, finally acknowledged him as the worthy heir to the teahouse.
