Yagami Taichi mentioning he knows a bit of French reminded Ishida Yamato that he had visited his grandfather in the past. Yamato later said that he got an international driving license because it was the last request of his grandfather, implying Michel died between the events of Digimon Adventure 02 and Digimon Adventure -Beyond-.
