The "Enhanced-armor Mode" of Ballistamon, who excels in defense, confers physical strength and defense several times over to that Digimon by housing another Digimon within, and furthermore, as a result of fusing the latent abilities of these two Digimon, it brings out many powerful Special Moves.
Its Special Moves are full of variety, with close-combat attacks, beam attacks, and live ammunition attacks, and have the range to cope with anything from one-on-one combat to group battles, so its might draws more than enough from Ballistamon's latent abilities. In particular, it can be said that its "Horn Breaker DX", an enhancement on Ballistamon's "Horn Breaker", is a vital technique, breaking into the enemy lines by hovering and sends opponents flying, opening a breach. Also, its "Buddy Blaster", which it can only use when it synchronizes the power of friendship between the two Digimon, is its greatest Special Move, converting its emotional strength to energy and shooting it from its horn.

Manga[edit]

Digimon Xros Wars[edit]

In ""Xrosroad!! The Boys' Paths Cross"", to fight Mach Leomon, Kudou Taiki performed his first DigiXros with Shoutmon and Ballistamon, creating Shoutmon X2. While originally everyone was unimpressed by the form, with Taiki expecting Shoutmon X4 instead, Hinomoto Akari and Tsurugi Zenjirou finding it ugly, and Mach Leomon thinking that Shoutmon had just gone into Ballistamon; X2 proved to be strong enough to easily overpower Mach Leomon before sending him flying with a Buddy Blaster.

Shoutmon X2 is used once again in "Xros Pride!! A Warrior's Pride!!" to fight against Aonuma Kiriha and Greymon, however, he was outsped and outpowered by Greymon.
