Digimon Xros Wars[edit]
As shown in a flashback in "Xros Miracle!! Reel in a Sliver of Hope!", after Bagramon had half his body burnt by Homeostasis, he discovered Yggdrasill, who he referred to as "the main server of the gods" and "the tree of information". He then cut part of it to replace the half of his body he lost and extend his life, which gave him great power and vast knowledge.
Before this event, the AI that controlled Yggdrasill brought its logical thinking to an extreme and saw the Real World as a threat to be destroyed. It was then destroyed itself by Daimon Masaru and Shine Greymon, and Homeostasis was created based on that incident as a calm, protective god.

Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode[edit]
After being sealed inside the Infinity Mountain, Yggdrasill is reactivated in order to be the responsible of repairing the Digital World from the damage caused by the lifeform Vitium. The only solution Yggdrasill can reuse consists of activating the X-Program. Because of this program, the Royal Knights Dukemon X and Omegamon X appear in the Digital World, wondering what are Yggdrasill's reasons to reactivate the program and repeat such tragedy.
Yggdrasill appears when the protagonist (Shinomiya Rina or Taiga, player's choice) reaches the 12th floor of the Infinity Mountain. Yggdrasill then takes control of DORUguremon and forces him to evolve to Death-X-mon. Once Death-X-mon is defeated, it confronts directly the protagonist and their companions, arguing it has already made a backup of the Digital World. Kuga Yuuya helps actively in this battle. When Yggdrasill is defeated, the X-Program is stopped.
Yggdrasill reappears at level 100 when the protagonist decides to go up to the 100th floor of the Infinity Mountain. To make Yggdrasill appear, the player must have overcome the 100 floors without being defeated once. It considers protecting the stability of the Digital World its main priority, and the protagonist, a bug to be erased as they disturb said stability. Since this second version of Yggdrasill is stronger than the previous one, the protagonist will be assisted by Alphamon, who wants to settle up with it for having been transformed him into Death-X-mon. After the fight, Yggdrasill wonders if this was the future that was meant to have disappeared, before perishing, leaving behind five of its Wills. Taiga can only pick one of them, as the rest will disappear afterwards, and each of them can be traded to Agumon (X-Antibody) for an item that makes one of Digimaru's stats 9999 in combat.
Based on what is hinted in the game, this Yggdrasill may be the same as the one of Digital Monster X-evolution.
Yggdrasill can only be obtained as a collectible card.
