Joan of Arc was noted for her deep Christian piety and is now canonized as a saint of the Catholic Church, hence the angel theming of the Digimon. Darcmon's sword, La Pucelle, is also named after an appelation of Joan of Arc's, "Jeanne la Pucelle" (Joan the Maiden). Darcmon's staff is topped with a distinctive winged egg ornament, which is also present on Hippogriffomon as a pendant. This ornament, and the fact that it is present on both Digimon, is a plot point in the film Digimon Frontier: Revival of the Ancient Digimon!!, where it is called the Wings of the Sea Bird 「海鳥の羽」. A synopsis of Revival of the Ancient Digimon!! that was published on Toei Animation's official English website in the 2000s mentions a character called "Generamon" in the same role that Darcmon holds in the released version of the film. No Japanese version of this synopsis is known to exist, so there is currently no known evidence whether Generamon was ever connected to this role in Japanese material. A Digimon concept by the name of Generamon had won second place in a Digimon design contest two years prior, but had not (and to date, still has not) ever appeared in any official Digimon media; whether this synopsis means that the Generamon from the contest (who, unlike Darcmon, is a Perfect Digimon with no obvious visual connection to angels or feminine traits) was reworked into Darcmon, or whether the mention was simply a mistake, is unknown.

Digimon Frontier: Revival of the Ancient Digimon!!

Darcmon is a disguise used by Murmukusmon to pose as the leader of the Human Digimon army. In this form, he deceives the Human Digimon into fighting a war against the Beast Digimon, which he also commands in the form of Hippogriffomon, yet never personally takes part in the fighting. The fact that Hippogriffomon and Darcmon are the same Digimon is discovered by Orimoto Izumi and Shibayama Junpei, who accidentally witness his Slide Evolving between the two forms.

In "Werewolf" , after Lamortmon overpowered Manticoremon, its Darcmon handler arrived. She explained that the Manticoremon served the Darcmon, but this one had escaped and eaten the data of the werewolf legend, making it mistakenly believe it was the werewolf itself. Darcmon then purged said data from the Manticoremon and took it back to where they came from.
