Profile[edit]

Murmukusmon seeks to use Ornismon to conquer the Digital World. He is arrogant and malicious.

According to Bokomon's Monoshiri Book, Murmukusmon is capable of using magic to turn himself into any Digimon. He uses this ability to Slide Evolve into Darcmon and Hippogriffomon, who he uses as guises under which he leads, respectively, the Human Digimon and Beast Digimon. While in these guises, he affects different personalities to stoke different motivations in the Digimon he is speaking to. Darcmon acts as a pious figure, who hates seeing harm come to the Human Digimon, and wants to avoid conflict and break the cycle of hatred. Hippogriffomon is ferocious, vengeful, blunt, and emotional.

Digimon Frontier: Revival of the Ancient Digimon!![edit]

According to Bokomon's Monoshiri Book, Murmukusmon was once exiled for his malice against the Digital World.

In the past, Murmukusmon encountered the Wandering Island and found the underground ruins which documented the means of reviving Ornismon:

Let the bloodstained Digicode of hatred fill the Wings of the Sea Bird, and thus we shall be revived.憎しみの血で塗られたデジコードを海鳥の羽に満たすべし、されば我復活せり

He used this information to hatch a plan to revive Ornismon himself, based on manipulating the Human Digimon and Beast Digimon populations of the Wandering Island into war against each other to harvest massive quantities of Digicode. He took the Wings of the Sea Bird from the mural to use in the plan, destroying a significant portion of the mural and rendering much of it unreadable.

At some point, he adopted the two guises of Darcmon and Hippogriffomon and, as them, assumed the roles of leaders of both the Human Digimon and Beast Digimon. He convinced each side that the other was an existential threat to them and that they had no choice but to take revenge for the other's attacks and eliminate them. He does not personally join any of the battles in either form.

In the present day, when the Chosen Children arrive at the Wandering Island, the war is ongoing. Since he cannot be in two places at once, Murmukusmon routinely travels between the sides to act as their leader and deliver motivational speeches, even during a single battle. The commanders of the Human and Beast armies, Dinohumon and Gryzmon, are each loyal to Darcmon and Hippogriffomon, and routinely seek their guidance.

When the final battle begins, Murmukusmon is in the role of Darcmon. However, during the battle, Gryzmon calls for Hippogriffomon, so Murmukusmon/Darcmon sneaks away through the ruins to respond.

The Chosen Children, Bokomon, Kotemon and Bearmon first begin to suspect that Darcmon and Hippogriffomon are the same individual when they are working on restoring the mural. They notice that, after otherwise finishing the reconstruction, there is still a distinctive hole for the Wings of the Sea Bird, which is in the shape of both Darcmon's staff and Hippogriffomon's pendant. Orimoto Izumi and Shibayama Junpei leave to warn Kanbara Takuya and Minamoto Kouji, and inadvertently witness Darcmon Slide Evolving into Hippogriffomon on his way to the Beast Digimon side, confirming their suspicions.

When Hippogriffomon attempts to rally the Beast Digimon, Izumi and Junpei (as Fairimon and Blitzmon) arrive and expose both the fact that the two leaders are the same Digimon and the aim of the war to both sides. Hippogriffomon Slide Evolves back into Darcmon, confirms their suspicions, explains his plan and history, and absorbs the Digicode of the deceased Digimon into the Wings of the Sea Bird, successfully reviving Ornismon and fulfilling his plan.

Murmukusmon returns to his true appearance, mounts Ornismon, and begins attacking. The Chosen Children fight back but are overpowered. When he sees Kotemon praying for Ancient Greymon and Ancient Garurumon, he targets the group, tells them they are wasting their time, and has Ornismon blast them, killing Kotemon. In response to Bearmon's grief, Ancient Greymon and Ancient Garurumon are also temporarily revived, but he arrogantly assumes that they are no match for him and Ornismon. The Chosen Children and the tanks belonging to the two armies concentrate their fire on Murmukusmon and Ornismon to throw them off-balance, and Takuya (as Agnimon) catches Murmukusmon unawares and destroys him with Salamander Break.
