Summary[edit]
Spoiler Warning | |
---|---|
Yamato led the rest of the children to the mountaintop. As they rejoin the group, Jo worries about what the children should do now.
Leomon walks up the path to the mountain, he sees a black gear fly by, and says he needs to stop this from happening. As he is about to proceed, Ogremon jumps out and attacks him. Leomon draws his blade and strikes Ogremon’s bone EOTGJI aside. Ogremon tells Leomon to leave the mountain, and Leomon says he has come to stop the black gears which are enraging all the peaceful Digimon. Ogremon doesn’t want this, and attacks Leomon with Haouken. Leomon meets this with his own Jūouken, and the impact shatters the stone on either side of them. They are about to attack again when a mysterious voice commands them to stop fighting and work together. Ogremon recognizes the voice as Devimon a second before he appears next to the two. Ogremon immediately demands to know why he has to work together with Leomon, and Devimon says that the Chosen Children have arrived. Leomon is surprised, and Devimon goes on to say the children are taking longer than expected to defeat. Upon hearing this, Leomon says that Devimon is the one who must be beaten, and attacks him with Jūouken. It simply fades through Devimon, who vanishes. He comes up behind Leomon, rising from the ground and using Death Claw. Leomon yells in pain, then his eyes go blank white. On the mountaintop, Taichi is looking through his pocket telescope and making notes on a paper. He tells Agumon he’s making a map for later. Koshiro comes up behind him, saying that could be useful- until he sees the paper. It looks like Taichi has scribbled on the paper, and Yamato says it doesn’t look useful at all. Sora sighs that Taichi was never good at drawing. Taichi says that because he drew the map he can understand it fine. Behind them, Jo glumly says everything they do is useless. The group is distracted by a loud sound. They follow the path back quickly, alarmed to discover that something has sheared away the narrow path, and there’s no way to get through. Leomon steps up to the other side of the chasm. The Digimon are happy to see him, because he’s a very strong, good Digimon who always fights for justice. Leomon draws his sword, saying mechanically to ‘kill the children’, much to everyone’s surprise. He jumps across the hole, straight toward the children, and they flee back up the mountain. As they’re running, Taichi drops his map. He tries to turn back for it, but freezes when Leomon comes within sight again. Agumon shoots Baby Flame at Leomon, and on the way, the fire catches the edge of Taichi’s map, burning it to ashes. Taichi and Agumon run to catch up with the others, and Agumon apologies. Everyone is forced to stop as Ogremon comes out from hiding in front of them. Leomon catches up quickly from behind, and they are trapped. Koshiro says that they must have planned this from the beginning. Piyomon says that’s crazy, because Leomon and Ogremon are mortal enemies. The two large Digimon attack, Ogremon using Hone Konbou and Leomon Shishi Oumaru. All of the partner Digimon evolve except for Patamon, and they push back the leaping attackers. Devimon stands atop a ledge above them, observing, and notes that six on two is too much for Ogremon and Leomon. Yamato grabs Takeru’s hand and pulls him behind a rock to shelter. The six adult forms are winning, and Greymon is about to use Mega Flame to finish the enemies, but a sudden shower of large stones breaks off the cliff above them, right where Devimon was watching from. The Chosen Children’s Digimon need to break off their battle against their opponents in order to protect their partners. They use their attacks to destroy the falling boulders, and everyone below is covered in dust. None of them are hurt, but the partner Digimon have reverted to their child forms, and are exhaustedly laying on the ground. Taichi agrees that evolving twice in the same day would be hard for them. They all notice that Ogremon and Leomon are gone, and wonder if they were swept off by the rockslide. Jo says that if they fell off the edge, there’s no way they could survive. Taichi looks up at the rocks, and tells Agumon he’s wondering why they fell so suddenly. Koshiro says that the earlier break in the path might have further weakened the stone, perhaps made a crack. As the children walk away, Devimon muses that they were stronger then he expected, but now that they’re tired, he has many chances to kill them. The group makes it off the mountain and walks for a while. As they’re walking through a forest, Koshiro wonders how the Digimon were able to evolve twice. Taichi says he doesn’t care why, but Sora says that maybe they’ve just gotten stronger. Koshiro excitedly says that could be possible. Yamato says that even if that’s true, it was pretty hard on the Digimon. He’s right, as their partners are sagging, some unable to keep their eyes open as they walk. Piyomon whimpers that she can’t walk anymore. Yamato says that this isn’t going to work and they need to rest somewhere. Sora agrees, starting to say that the humans are also pretty tired. She is interrupted by Jo, who cries out in shock and points at a large house peeking through the trees. The group runs towards it down a large path. The whole mansion looks very well maintained. Jo says that there could be humans in there this time. He runs towards the door, and Yamato chases him, telling him to be careful. Taichi thoughtfully says he didn’t remember seeing this place from the top of the mountain. Agumon asks if he’s sure, and then if he drew it on the map. Taichi isn’t sure, and Agumon asks if he lost it. Taichi reminds Agumon that he burned up the map. Jo and Yamato open the doors to the massive house. Jo calls out, apologizing for barging in and asking if anyone is there. No one responds, and his voice echoes in the large, empty room. Koshiro says that it’s creepy, and Sora agrees. Jo seems surprised that they don’t like it, and says that they can’t leave such a nice place. Takeru runs over to a pretty picture on the wall of an angel, and Jo says that since there’s such a beautiful angel painting, there's no way anything bad could be there. The others aren’t very convinced by this reasoning, but Sora says that it is harder for them to camp outside. Yamato looks at the Digimon, who are asleep on their feet, and says that they have no choice. The group moves into the mansion and starts to explore. Gabumon says he smells a lot of food, and everyone runs off to follow him. They find a large table that appears to be set with a feast. Everyone looks at it, and agree that it seems like food, but Sora and Yamato say that this is going too well to be real. The Digimon are hungry, though, and before anyone can stop them are eating at the table. They say the food is delicious. Jo says that it’s ok to be lucky once in a while, and starts eating. The other children watch him eat, and after a moment, give in as well to their hunger. After dinner they find that the mansion has baths, and the boys go to one side with the girls on the other. Jo walks into the boys side wearing a towel, and Yamato and Taichi are offended that he’s wearing it in an all boys bath. They start to pull off his towel. Sora, on the other side, says the boys are being stupid again. Mimi and Sora are very startled when Gomamon floats over, saying the bath feels nice. Palmon grabs him and throws him over the wall separating the baths, where he lands on Jo and knocks him over. After the baths, the group meets up again and finds a room with eight beds. They all choose one and lay down, happily exclaiming at how nice they are. Mimi says that it feels like camping school. Jo says that they were supposed to be at summer camp to begin with, so it really is. Everyone starts looking sad, thinking about how they thought they were just going to camp, not another world. Yamato says that everyone at home must be looking for them. Takeru is turned away from everyone else, crying softly and hugging Patamon. Sora says everyone should get some sleep. After all the lights are off, Devimon’s voice mocks the children, saying how easy they were to fool. He flies through the wall, emerging from the angel painting. Ogremon and Leomon appear as well, saying that they are ready to kill the children. Their conference is interrupted by a creaking door, and Taichi asking Agumon why he can’t go to the bathroom alone. Agumon says that Taichi is scared to go to the bathroom at night too. Taichi insists that he’s not, and he’s old enough to do it by himself. In the bathroom, Taichi waits outside Agumon’s stall, telling him to hurry up. Agumon says nothing’s coming out, even though he ate so much earlier. Taichi says that he’s going to leave soon, and Agumon says he’ll hurry. He farts several times, causing Ogremon, who is hiding in the stall next to him, to choke on the stench. Ogremon bursts out, holding his club, snarling that it stinks. Taichi and Agumon are shocked, and run away, yelling to everyone else that Ogremon is there. They are met in the hallway by Leomon, and Deviomon, standing on the railing, says that they should have just slept quietly. Agumon fearfully recognizes him. Devimon says that this dream should end now, and the mansion dissolves around him, spreading so the whole building shatters, leaving only some ruins. The other children in the beds wake up, (because the beds were real I guess), but their robes are gone. Devimon sends them flying into the air by waving his hand, and they all cry out in fear. Agumon tells Taichi he has no energy, even though he ate so much before. Devimon says that the food and baths were illusions. Taichi asks why he’s doing this, and Devimon says that they are the Chosen Children, and are nuisances to him. He spreads his arms, and the mountain behind him cracks. The island splits into many pieces that start to move in away. Devimon says that the island has been taken over by the black gears, and that the other side of the ocean is next. Taichi is interested to learn that there’s more to this world, but Devimon says he will die before seeing it. Leomon charges, knocking aside Agumon after he fails to use Baby Flame due to his depleted energy. Leomon grabs Taichi, and pulls out his sword. Suddenly, Taichi’s bed crashes next to them, and the small blue gadget falls out. It clatters into Leomon’s foot and starts glowing brightly. Leomon screams in pain, but a wave of shadow ripples out of his back. He falls to his knees, and his eyes are no longer blank. Amazed, he says the evil in him is gone. Taichi grabs the item off the ground. Devimon is worried at the loss of Leomon, and starts using his power to drop everyone else’s beds, which have been circling around them in the air until now. Leomon uses Jūouken to distract him, and the beds level out again before they hit the ground. Ogremon attacks Leomon, and Leomon demands that Taichi and Agumon flee, leaving him to fight. Taichi doesn’t want to, but Leomon pushes them onto a moving bit of the island, which carries them quickly away. He says they must survive because they are the only hope for his world. Leomon’s screaming soon echoes to them, but they can’t see what happened. Devimon says he will kill the children off one by one. Beside him, white eyed once again, Leomon says to kill the children. |

Edits[edit]
English[edit]
- This is the first episode of the Saban dub to feature their localized name for the Chosen Children, the “DigiDestined”. The Animax dub leaves the Chosen Children name intact.
- Devimon’s name was previously localized as “Darkmon” for the virtual pets. The Saban dub chooses to leave his original name intact.
- Devimon’s Death Claw attack is changed to “Touch Of Evil” in the Saban dub, presumably to remove the reference to death.
- Leomon only says “Destroy the Chosen Children” while he is hypnotized in the Japanese version. The Saban dub gives him more things to say.
- All shots of Yamato, Taichi, and Jou while they are naked are cut from the Saban dub.
- The scene of Agumon trying to go poop is heavily censored by Saban. Instead, he is simply hiding from Orgemon in the bathroom. In addition, Orgemon’s expression of disgust is not changed.
- A shot of Taichi getting choked by Leomon is removed from the Saban dub.
