Koshiro and Mimi are both with their Digimon partners, and their beds are falling towards nearby islands. Unfortunately, they don’t see each other, and both land on their own. Mimi and Palmon are not sure where they are, but agree that they should look for the others, and that someone probably fell nearby.
Koshiro and Tentomon come across a large building in ruins. Koshiro is fascinated, and tells Tentomon it could help them understand more vital things about this world. Tentomon seems uneasy, but follows as Koshiro goes inside.
Mimi sees a large bunch of what appear to be bananas on a nearby tree. She points them out, and Palmon grabs them with her long fingers at Mimi’s request. Mimi tries to peel the banana, but as she pulls off the skin, she finds more under, and there’s no banana inside. She throws it, crying out that she hates it.
Scumon and Tyumon get their attention from the tree, and after throwing poop at them, demand that Mimi drop her bags. Mimi says she’d rather throw it in the ocean then give it to them. Scumon and Tyumon are offended and continue raining poop on them. Scumon slides down a tree and grabs the strap of Mimi’s bag. His hand hits the device there, and he and Tyumon start glowing. They say they feel refreshed, and Palmon asks if they’ve seen any others like Mimi. Tyumon excitedly says something to Scumon, and Mimi is delighted to hear that they know something. She smiles hopefully, and at the sight of her face, Scumon blushes and smiles at her. He says that they might have seen something like her and a Tentomon fell over by the ancient temple. They take Mimi and Palmon there, but encounter a large rift in the island that blocks their way. Scumon asks for a date in return for guiding them. Mimi is horrified, and Palmon says they should run away. Mimi grabs her, and Palmon uses Poison Ivy to get them across the break in the island, leaving Scumon and Tyumon. Mimi sighs that this happens all the time to her, and Scumon calls to tell her that they should meet somewhere for their date. Mimi and Palmon pull a face and tell them no.
Koshiro sees a large black gear turning in the floor of the temple, and says that if they can stop that the island should stop moving. Tentomon says they’re not big enough to do that, and they should go find the others. Koshiro finds the characters on the wall are the same as the ones on the giant battery in the factory. He gets out his computer and looks for a power source. Much to his and Tenomon’s surprise, he finds a power outlet that is able to power his computer.
Mimi and Palmon arrive at the temple, and Mimi is excited at the prospect of finding the others. They walk in, and find Koshiro and Tentomon. Tentomon welcomes them, surprised. Koshiro looks over his shoulder. Mimi asks where the others are. Koshrio says he doesn’t know, and turns back to his computer. Mimi says that they need to look for everyone else, but Koshiro says deciphering the characters is more important. As Mimi instantly tells him they need to look for everyone else, he doesn’t respond to her, instead pointing out a character on the wall with interest. Everyone sighs. After a while, Mimi asks him how long it’s going to take, and what it will accomplish. Koshiro doesn't respond, instead talking to himself and saying that this character goes over there. Mimi angrily stands up, causing Tentomon and Palmon to look at her in alarm. She demands to know when Koshiro is going to be done. He still doesn’t talk to her, and she calls him stupid and starts crying. Palmon looks at her, then starts crying too. Tentomon looks to Koshiro to know what to do, but he doesn’t know how to help either. Mimi says she wants to go home and she’s thirsty, and Palmon tearfully asks Koshiro why he’s not listening to them. He says the data he’s analyzing is important. Mimi runs off into a nearby corridor, but Koshiro is too preoccupied with the sobbing Palmon to notice. Tentomon doesn't want to let Mimi go alone, and he quickly follows her. Koshiro notices they’re gone, and asks about them. When Palmon realizes they’re not there anymore, she immediately stops crying and asks what to do.
Mimi trips, and Tentomon asks if she’s all right. She says she hates this and wants to go home. Tentomon cautions her about going too far into the ruins and getting lost, but she ignores this and keeps running. Outside the ruins, Koshiro and Palmon don’t see anyone. Koshiro tells Palmon about a map of the ruins he found, which contained a large maze. He says they’re probably lost in there somewhere.
Mimi says she’s seen the same smudge on the wall before, and they realize they’re lost. Palmon tells Koshiro she will go look for them, but he says she’ll just get lost too. Koshiro types, analyzing the maze and finding a way to help. Mimi says that their being lost is all Koshiro’s fault, and the way he ignores people makes her mad. Tentomon says that he’s not trying to be rude, but Mimi is still offended. Tentomon says he just gets caught up in his work, but he’s really a good person.
Koshiro makes a dot appear on the map, and when he clicks on it Tentomon’s voice sounds, telling Mimi to wait. Koshiro says that Mimi and Tentomon should be able to hear them too, and puts on an earpiece from his bag. He makes contact, and tells them he can get them out of the maze if they follow his directions. They agree to do this. After a moment of walking, a second dot appears on the map. Koshiro is alarmed, and the new dot begins closing in on Mimi and Tentomon. Koshiro asks them to run away, telling them someone else is in the maze too. Mimi and Tentomon look behind them and see Kentarumon leaping over the pit they just skirted. He has a black gear in his back. They run away, and Koshiro keeps directing them. After a moment, they reach a dead end, and Koshiro stops responding. Kentarumon closes in behind them, and they duck a blast from his Hunting Cannon. Mimi tells Tentomon to evolve, but he says he can’t without Koshiro. They start arguing, but are interrupted by the wall behind them crumbling. Koshiro and Palmon smash through it from the outside, and they are reunited. Palmon evolves to Togemon, and Tentomon to Kabuterimon. The space isn’t big enough though, and Mimi and Koshiro are pressed against the wall, Koshiro with several of Togemon’s massive needles almost impaling him.
Kentarumon smashes through the wall with his Hunting Cannon, and the fight moves outside. Kabuterimon uses Mega Blaster and Togemon uses Chiku Chiku Bang Bang. Those combined are enough to force the black gear out. Kentarumon tells the children that the small blue electronics they got before they left summer camp are Digivices, and the ruins are a temple to them. He is the protector of the temple, and the Digivices are supposed to drive out the darkness and bring light to the Digital World.
They are interrupted by Leomon, who comes in and says he must kill the children. Kentarumon jumps to protect them, catching Leomon’s fist before he attacks. Kentarumon tries to reason with Leomon, but he’s under Devimon’s control and tries to kill Kentarumon as well. Leomon uses Juuoken, and Kentarumon blocks it with Hunting Cannon. Kentarumon is defeated, however, because Leomon is strengthened by Devimon. As Leomon moves to attack the children, their Digivices begin to glow. The bright light drives Leomon away, and he flees.
Koshiro asks if Kentarumon can destroy the large black gear, but he says he cannot. Koshiro settles down to work on his computer again, much to Mimi’s dismay. She angrily kicks the black gear, and it reverses its direction. Everyone stares, and the island starts moving back the other way. They run outside to see, and across the island rift, see Scumon and Tyumon, who are happy to see them, saying they should go on a romantic date. Mimi and Palmon refuse again.
