English[edit]

  • The two names Takeru suggests for Patamon’s evolution, “TabunKonnamon” and “KittoKonnamon”, are changed to “Porkymon” and “Hogmon”, respectively. The Filipino English dub leaves the original names intact.
  • The eggs make jingling sounds when Takeru shakes them in the Japanese version. In the dub, voices are heard inside of them instead.
  • Takeru chants “rub rub rub” when he tries to get the egg to hatch. The dub replaces this with him wondering if a genie will appear.
  • Takeru’s flashback has added narration in the dub, while the original is silent.
  • Elecmon accidentally uses the incorrect pluralization of “Digimons” in the dub.
  • The electricity sounds that play when Elecmon charges up his attack are missing in the dub.
  • Elecmon is portrayed in the dub as being older than he is in the Japanese version, where he came across as young and immature.
  • Takeru’s introduction to the tug-of-war fight is delivered like the beginning of a sumo match in the Japanese version. The dub version treats it more a like a wrestling match.
