Biography[edit]

Billingslea was born in Charleston, South Carolina, spending most of his childhood growing up in Connecticut. Before starting his acting career, he played as a quarterback for the football team at the University of Connecticut, and later became its captain.[1]

He started doing voice-overs between the late 1970s and early 1980s, mainly performing African accents for the American dubs of some foreign films and, under the influence of a couple of people who started doing anime, he was eventually called into doing voices for anime.[1] Since then, Billingslea has done voices for number of anime shows, of which Digimon is included, such as Bleach and Cyborg 009.
