Noah Project

Noah Project (ノア・プロジェクト Noa Purojekuto), is a scheme orchestrated by Unchained in Digimon Liberator, serving as a central conflict within the story.

Overview

The Noah Project is conceived as a form of "twisted salvation" for the metaverse spaces Cross Connectia and LACUNA. Driven by deep despair and disillusionment, Unchained views the existing world as irreparably "poisoned" and seeks to erase and recreate it through drastic means.

Description

The primary goal of the Noah Project is to purge the current state of LACUNA and the Digital World, replacing it with a purified existence according to Unchain's ideals. This plan reflects a warped interpretation of salvation, prioritizing destruction as a precursor to rebirth.

Digimon Liberator

When Unchain was created into LACUNA, he noticed that a miasma of unknown nature is killing Digimon in Cross Connectia, and hordes of Digimon were migrating from it to LACUNA where they will also inevitably perish. Amidst the Digimon however, was a Yolkmon who possessed a unique antibody that made it immune to the miasma. Unchain managed to clone the antibody and administer it onto a Metatromon who begged it to save its other half, and then used his Alter Ride to turn other Digimon into copies of Maquinamon with the immunity. Unchain's end goal is to merge Metatromon and Dalphomon into Ex Maquinamon, a Digimon that possesses the divine power to merge both Cross Connectia into LACUNA, to merge both worlds into a single land exclusively inhabited by Maquinamon immune to the miasma.

A key component of the Noah Project is the Digital Lifeform Close, who was originally created by Unchained to function as the project's "ark." In this role, Close was meant to preserve selected data or entities deemed worthy of surviving the destruction, mirroring the symbolic concept of an ark safeguarding life during a great flood.
