Muchomon is the original Partner Digimon of Kazama Shoto in Digimon Liberator. Unlike Pteromon, it is sealed in a trading card and can be temporarily summoned from it. Shoto owns multiple Muchomon cards, but whether the same Muchomon is summoned every time, or if each card has a different Muchomon isn't specified. This page focuses on the one that talks and appears outside of duels.

Profile[edit]
Kazama Shoto's original Partner Digimon, summoned when he first came to LACUNA. Muchomon is very happy most of the time, and even when it gets mad at Shoto for forgetting about it, it gets back up soon and goes back to its chipper disposition. Unlike Pteromon, it doesn't consider Shoto to be heavy and can easily carry him as Cockatrimon. While a relatively fast mount, it isn't as fast as Dimetromon.
Appearances[edit]
Manga[edit]
Digimon Liberator[edit]
Kazama Shoto first summoned Muchomon from his D-Storage after setting it as his Partner Digimon in "Welcome to LACUNA" after arriving in LACUNA, where they quickly hugged each other.
Shoto summoned Muchomon again in "DigitalGate Open". While it complained about how long Shoto took to do it, they nonetheless high-fived and hugged each other, clearly happy to be together. Unlike Shoto, it didn't get frustrated after losing to Kinosaki Arisa.
When Shoto befriends Pteromon, it takes Muchomon's place as Shoto's partner. Shoto still used Muchomon cards in duels, though.
In "SELECT FEW (Part 1)", Shoto joins the debugging team and tries to get Pteromon to carry him around. Pteromon refuses to do so feeling Shoto is too heavy. This has Shoto set Muchomon as his partner again, with Pteromon simply watching Muchomon and Shoto complete missions from within the D-Storage. One day they chased down a Maquinamon alongside Owen Dreadnought and Elizamon. After Owen evolved Elizamon into Dimetromon through his Unique Emblem, Shoto did the same, evolving Muchomon into Cockatrimon to ride it and catch up with them, although it was not fast enough to do so. Cockatrimon was the only one to defend Shoto after Pteromon refused to carry Shoto due to his weight and everyone else piled up on him. Shoto thanked Cockatrimon and Owen after they managed to successfully capture the Maquinamon, and Cockatrimon returned his praise. Shoto then rode Cockatrimon again to chase down an out-of-control NPC. After they broke into the battlefield that was generated by three NPCs in "SELECT FEW (Part 2)", Cockatrimon went back to Shoto's D-Storage.
Muchomon evolved into Medieval Dukemon off-screen during a duel against a main quest NPC in "RAID ON THE WORLD (Part 1)". In the last turn of that duel, Medieval Dukemon destroyed the last security shield of the NPC and Zephagamon ended it. Later on, from Shoto's D-Storage, Muchomon offered to carry him as Cockatrimon to improve the efficiency of their search of the Deep Savers, which made Pteromon jealous. Shoto agreed and used his Unique Emblem to evolve Muchomon into Cockatrimon, then rode him. They were still together when Unchain found them in "OVERWRITE BLACK (Part 1)".
Muchomon is mentioned as one of the people/Digimon that helped Shoto grow in "SHOW ME YOUR BRAVE HEART (Part 2)".
In "Prelude of Destruction (Part 1)", Shoto used his Unique Emblem to evolve Muchomon once again to head towards the Emerald Coast's Sanctuary.
Before the fight with Xeno in "HOPELESS TO YOU (Part 1)", Muchomon popped out of Shoto's D-Storage to confirm he would also follow Shoto. He also reacted to Xeno calling Shoto a "worthless noob".
After Shoto awakened in the Void in "HOPELESS TO YOU (Part 2)", Muchomon emerged from Shoto's D-Storage because it was worried about him. It also tried to protect Shoto after Unchain threatened him. Unchain tried to calm Muchomon down then pointed out how Muchomon was a great partner from Shoto, who had a gift for being loved by Digimon. Both Shoto and Muchomon were then equally shocked when they saw Unchain's Partner Digimon, Metatromon. As Shoto broke down from being trapped in the Void, Muchomon tried to protect Pteromon's Digitama and console Shoto. This was still the case when they were briefly shown in "MIRACLE MAKER (Part 2)".
Muchomon was part of the future Owen wanted to see in "MIRACLE MAKER (Part 1)". In it, Zephagamon and Medieval Dukemon faced off against Owen's Partner Digimon, Medusamon and War Greymon.
Seeing Shoto's state, in "BE THE BELIEVERS (Part 2)", Muchomon asked him why he wanted to protect Lacuna. Shoto explained to it that he decided he needed to find a goal of his own after talking to Yuuki in the two weeks after Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode's attack. After Shoto got depressed again, Muchomon asked him if he was going to give up again, saying it was something Owen or Pteromon may say. However, it then added they may not, as Muchomon didn't think Shoto had given up, but instead was frustrated and suffering, something only those who had hope could feel. This made Shoto realize that they still wanted to protect Lacuna. Muchomon felt proud of Shoto's newfound determination and thought Pteromon would feel the same. With his Unique Emblem glowing from his D-Storage, Shoto asked Muchomon and Pteromon if they'd fight by his side once more. Muchomon agreed and they became a Vortexdramon of pure light.
Shoto and Medieval Dukemon arrived to the battle against Unchain and their army in "DIGIMON / LIBERATOR (Part 1)". There, Medieval Dukemon supported Shoto as he worried about being the one chosen to fight Unchain. To do so, the duo charged towards their enemy in "DIGIMON / LIBERATOR (Part 2)" alongside Owen Dreadnought and War Greymon, though they couldn't reach them as Ex Maquinamon's full power had distorted space into an endless corridor. After Owen used Xeno's power to cause an Alter Ride and force everyone into a test map, the devolved Muchomon posed alongside Shoto as the latter confirmed he was ready to fight Unchain in a 2-vs-1 Situation Battle.
Shoto played Muchomon during the Trinity Situation Battle in "THE GOD (Part 2)" who he then evolved into BT24-047 Cockatrimon and BT24-048 Delumon. As Delumon, Muchomon backed Shoto's determination to protect the world that saw him change and rejecting Unchain's "justice" that sacrificed Digimon and humans, as it loved spending time with Shoto and Pteromon and refused to lose those memories. Delumon then begged Pteromon to come back, which finally caused its Digitama to hatch, which Delumon was greatly thankful for. Shoto had Delumon attack Unchain's security then evolved it into EX8-074 Medieval Dukemon, who Shoto unsuspended with his EX7-064 Tamer Card to then trigger Vortex, which was upgraded with EX11-062's effect to allow it to attack players. In response, Unchain triggered EX11-073 Ex Maquinamon's End of Opponent's Turn effect to bounce Medieval Dukemon back to Shoto's deck. Shoto would play Muchomon back into the field in "TO THE NEW WORLD (Part 1)" through EX11-032 Grand Galemon's When Evolving effect. After Grand Galemon evolved into Vortexdramon[N 1], it suspended Muchomon to gain 6000 DP and immunity to effects. Muchomon was then returned to the deck again by Ex Maquinamon's End of Opponent's Turn effect as Vortexdramon was immune to it.
