Introduced in Digimon Liberator, it is a Jogress of the two split halves of Maquinamon and is referred to as the titular "Digimon Liberator". Ex Maquinamon features several design elements of Maquinamon’s Ultimate level "machine" half, Metatromon, and its Ultimate level "beast" half, Dalphomon. The horned head of Dalphomon and the metal-masked face of Metatromon form the head of Ex Maquinamon. The "machine" halves of both Maquinamon and Ex Maquinamon feature an AppLink cable; in the Digimon Card Game, this is represented with Maquinamon being the first Digimon (without the [Appmon] trait characteristic) to have the Link effect, while Ex Maquinamon is the first Digimon card to ever have the Link +2 effect (the lower number Link +1 has been reserved solely for God Grade Appmon as of the release of EX-11 Dawn of Liberator). Ex Maquinamon also bears resemblance to the Faravahar, a male humanoid with a winged lower body commonly used as a depiction for Ahura Mazda. The logic of this Digimon's fusion is similar to Chaosmon, as a Digimon made of two contrasting, symmetrical halves and possessing qualities reminiscent of biblical angels, and as a Unique Digimon with two Digicores.

Digimon Liberator

Ex Maquinamon is the Partner Digimon of Unchain, known as the "Digimon Liberator". A Digimon referred to as a god-like being, it is the cornerstone of Unchain's plan to merge both LACUNA and Cross Connectia into a single world inhabited by only Maquinamon.

Metatromon evolves into this form in "DIGIMON / LIBERATOR" by absorbing Dalphomon. However, Dalphomon was hacked by Cool Boy to carry a trojan before being absorbed by Metatromon, which caused Unchain's programming to become like those of a regular NPC, meaning that they cannot refuse any and all duel requests.
