Game Master
A Game Master (ゲームマスター Gēmu Masutā), abbreviated as GM, is an administrator responsible for supervising the virtual game Digimon Liberator within LACUNA. Most Game Masters are employees of its developer, I.D.E.A., although the position is also held by artificial beings such as Altea and Espimon.[1][2]
Overview[edit]
Game Masters patrol LACUNA while blending in with ordinary players. They investigate bugs and reports of misconduct, and possess temporary access privileges allowing them to intervene in the game system. After verifying complaints, they can issue warnings, suspend accounts, or ban offending players. Their investigations supplement automated moderation.
Players can also consult Game Masters at a meeting facility in Jewel, where they appear in avatars wearing white coats. These consultations address technical problems, disputes, and feedback about the game, making Game Masters an intermediary between players and the administration.[1]
The debugging team supports their work by investigating abnormalities and resolving problems, including incidents involving malfunctioning NPCs. Its members are generally recruited from ordinary players and can temporarily receive Game Master privileges under specific conditions. A Unique Emblem is required to exercise these privileges. Game Masters can also authorize entry to Garden for individuals who do not possess an emblem.[3]
Game Masters additionally serve as tournament judges. They are experienced Digimon Card Game players who can explain rules and advise participants. Planned events also allow players to receive instruction from them or challenge their personally constructed decks.[1]

- Altea: An autonomous AI concierge created by Yao Qinglan. He performs administrative duties from Garden and supports the debugging team.[2]
- Espimon: Altea's Partner Digimon, who likewise possesses Game Master status and assists with administrative work.[2]
- Horaiji Chitose: A developer, debugger, and Game Master who assists Cool Boy and Yao Qinglan.[2]
