The strange holographic man looks around, and says that it’s impressive the Chosen Children have defeated Devimon. They ask who he is, and the man reassures them he is on their side. Sora says it’s good to see another human there, and the man says he is human, and he is not. He says his name is Gennai, and that he couldn’t contact them earlier because of Devimon’s interference. He says he is on the Server Continent, which is far away from File Island. Mimi asks who brought them here, and Gennai says he doesn’t know. Takeru asks if he knows how to get home, and Gennai says he doesn’t know that either. Taichi sighs at his lack of helpful information. Gennai tells them to come to Server and defeat the evil there, and sends a map to Koshiro’s laptop.
Jo points out that they won’t be able to beat anyone stronger than Devimon, as they barely won that fight. Gennai says that their Digimon can evolve again with the help of the Tags and Crests. He says the Crests are scattered around the Server, and the Tags were gathered by Devimon and secreted somewhere. Suddenly, his projection begins to blur, and he disappears.
After eating, everyone starts to discuss what they heard. Koshiro notes that the continent is far away from where they are. Jo points out that after the week they’ve spent there, they know the island fairly well, and Devimon and his black gear are gone, so it’s safe. He says that they don’t know Gennai enough to trust him. Taichi is opposed to this way of thinking, saying that they can’t get home if they just sit there. Most of the other children voice negative thoughts, not wanting to cross an ocean to go fight an incredibly powerful evil. Taichi still wants to go, but everyone else is opposed, until Takeru says he wants to go. He says that Angemon would have wanted that too, and the Digimon chime in to point out that the Crests will make them stronger, and say that they want to go.
The group is working in the forest to cut down trees and make a raft. Koshiro sighs, able to see that at the rate they’re working, it will take a while. Leomon suddenly walks out of the trees, and says that he heard that they’re leaving for Server, and brought others to help with preparations. Elecmon, Kentarumon, Mojyamon, Monzaemon, Meramon, and a large group of Pyocomon all come out too, and with everyone’s help, the Chosen Children are ready to go much sooner than expected.
As everyone is almost ready to board the raft, Takeru gasps suddenly. The Digiegg he has been carrying around cracks. It finishes hatching, and a Poyomon comes out. Takeru is thrilled, and everyone congratulates Takeru. The ground boards the raft and begins to sail away, waving to the Digimon on the shore.
Taichi looks through his pocket telescope, but doesn’t see anything but waves. Jo worries that their food supplies will be inadequate, and Taichi waves him off, saying they can fish or something. After a bit of sailing, Mimi and Koshiro are feeling seasick. The waves suddenly start going much higher, and everyone fearfully wonders what’s causing them. They see Whamon crest the waves, and don’t recognize him at first. He continues to throw their raft around, and after a bit of that swallows them. The Digimon say that this is uncharacteristic of Whamon, but no one has time to reflect on that.
After a moment, they end up in a large chamber that Koshiro identifies as Whamon's stomach. From the edges, brown oil leaks out into the water, and Koshiro says that it’s gastric juice, and will dissolve the contents of the stomach. Their raft starts to smoke slightly where it touches the water. Sora suddenly points up to the top of the cavern, where a black gear is lodged. Palmon uses Poison Ivy to make a way to get up. Taichi climbs the vines, and when he gets close, his Digivice flashes, destroying the gear. As soon as it breaks, the raft starts to rise. Everyone yells in alarm, and they quickly reach open air, having been pushed out of Whamon’s blowhole. Their raft is in pieces, and everyone is hanging onto a log to float.
Whamon comes over and apologizes for swallowing them. They kindly reassure him that it wasn’t his fault. They ask if Whamon knows how far Server is, and he says it would take him five days to get there. Takeru says that’s not good, because their raft is broken. Whamon asks if they’re trying to get there, and Agumon replies affirmatively. Whamon says he would be glad to take them there as thanks for removing the black gear. They are delighted, and climb onto Whamon’s back. The ride is smoother and faster than the raft. Taichi says that the next thing to do is find the Tags and Crests that Devimon hid. Whamon overhears, and says that Devimon once placed something valuable at the bottom of the ocean. Taichi urgently asks where, and Whamon says it’s on the way, and he will take them there if they shelter inside of him.
After everyone is inside, he swims deep into the ocean. He arrives in an air pocket in a large cave, and drops the group off. They walk deeper, and after a moment find a conveyance store. As they walk over, Drimogemon breaks through the floor with his large drill horn. He has a black gear, and says that no one is allowed to enter the store by Devimon’s orders. The Digimon say they’ll fight while the humans look for the Tags. Gomamon evolves to Ikkakumon and engages Drimogemon. Tentomon evolves into Kabuterimon and joins in. Drimogemon uses Crusher Bone, which Kabuterimon doges before hitting the black gear with Mega Blaster. This removes it.
Inside the store, Takeru briefly loses track of Poyomon, and finds him clinging to a small wooden box. Outside, Drimogemon apologies and says that the Tags should be in the store, before running away quickly. Inside, Yamato opens the box that Poyomon found, and sees that it contains their crests.
A little later, as the sun goes down, everyone is riding on top of Whamon and wearing their new Tags around their necks. They are looking forward to going to the Server and finding their Crests.
