News reports reveal that Digimon and Dark Towers have been appearing all over the world.
The Chosen Children agree to meet at Koushirou's apartment, but Daisuke elects to go and check on Ken because the reports listed Tamachi as a location where Digimon had appeared. Elsewhere, Qinglongmon gives Gennai one of his Digicores. At Koushirou's apartment, Koushirou explains that there are more Chosen Children all over the world. In Tamachi, Ken encounters a wild Triceramon rampaging. He tries to evolve Wormmon, but the evolution is blocked. Realizing that Archnemon must have activated a Dark Tower, he spots her and Mummymon in the top of a building. Daisuke arrives on Lighdramon and demolishes the Dark Tower before quickly devolving Lighdramon. Daisuke and Ken evolve their partners into XV-mon and Stingmon and try to stop Triceramon, but Triceramon effortlessly dismisses them. Mummymon cheers on Triceramon, but Archnemon scolds him for it, reminding him that Triceramon was a wild Digimon who wouldn't listen to them. She ponders where the other Chosen Children are out loud. Daisuke and Ken fuse their partners into Paildramon, but Triceramon still dominated the fight.
To make matters worse, Mummymon joined the fight and shot Paildramon in the back. At Koushirou's apartment, Koushirou reveals that Digital gates had opened up all over the world, but had then closed. He stated that they would have to manually reopen the gates with D-3s in order to return all of the Digimon back to the Digital World. Taichi suggests traveling through the Digital World, but Hikari states that it would take too long because only one gate can be open in each area of the Digital World. Takeru stated his concerns that the Dark Towers are causing distortions.
Gennai appears before them via Koushirou's computer. Takeru explains who he is to Miyako and Iori. Miyako is surprised because she had heard that he was an old man and compliments him on his looks. Koushirou gets the conversation back on track by stating to Gennai that the world was in crisis. Gennai says that is why he was there and uses the Digicore to restore the ability to Super Evolve to Agumon, Gabumon, Piyomon, Tentomon, Patamon, and Tailmon.
Back in Tamachi, Paildramon continues to take a beating from Triceramon and Mummymon. Daisuke and Ken run to Paildramon in concern, but Mummymon open fires on them. They narrowly avoid the attack, but the attack hits the building behind them, causing debris to fall towards them. The light of Qinglongmon reaches them, allowing Paildramon to ultimate evolve into Imperialdramon. Imperialdamon covers Daisuke and Ken to block the falling building. In Koushirou's apartment, the others see a news report saying that one of the monsters grew larger under a strange bright light. Gennai explains that it is Imperialdramon who evolved from Paildramon with Qinglongmon's light, the same light he had given to them. In Tamachi, Mummymon retreats after seeing the enormous Imperialdramon. Triceramon charges, but Imperaildramon grabbed him with his claw, allowing Daisuke and Ken to return him to the Digital World via a Digital Gate. Imperialdramon has Daisuke and Ken get on his back and flies into the air. He fires several shots of his Positron Laser until all of the Dark Towers in Japan were destroyed. Archnemon watches, shocked that the Divine Power could affect the real world. Imperialdramon, Daisuke and Ken then return a Knightmon, a Waru Monzaemon, and a Drimogemon to the Digital World.
Gennai explains that he and his people had been busy erasing information about the Digital World from the real world's military labs and intelligence operations that was gathered when the Digital World came close to the real world during the battle with Apocalymon. Miyako asks who the others are. Gennai explains that his partners were working with Chosen Children in other countries. Koushirou states that Gennai had showed him the network of Chosen Children. Gennai stated that the plan to return all of the wild Digimon was to gather them to Digital Gates in New York, Moscow, Sydney, and Paris. Imperialdramon arrives at Koushirou's apartment complex, and the others rush out to meet them. Gennai briefs Daisuke and Ken on the plan and vanishes. Masami gives Koushirou some rice balls as Koushirou assured her that he would be back as soon as he could. They all board Imperialdramon, who disperses them all over the world. Archnemon and Mummymon watch them leave. Mummymon is annoyed at them destroying all of their hard work. Archnemon gets a call from Oikawa instructing them of the next phase of their plan.
