Digimon Adventure:[edit]
In the past, Strabimon's village was destroyed by Zanbamon after it unsealed itself from Cres Garurumon's "Kijū Engetsutou", the first of many it would destroy, as it was in the same area as said sword. Afterwards, he joined other Digimon whose villages were destroyed by Zanbamon, forming a new one under Mojyamon.
During "The Gold Wolf of the Crescent Moon", Strabimon, alongside Gryzmon and Hanumon, tried to stall Zanbamon at night, so it would not find the other Digimon from the village that had hidden in a cave. However, Zanbamon was able to kill Gryzmon and Hanumon, and Strabimon was only saved by the appearance of Ishida Yamato and Garurumon who rescued him. The next day, Mojyamon offered himself to distract Zanbamon, though Strabimon tried to stop him, as it would be too dangerous if anything happened to him. Yamato and Gabumon would take on said role instead, which confused Strabimon, as he expected them to be scared of Zanbamon. Gabumon answered by saying that someone had to do it, and he would drag Zanbamon all around the forest with his speed. After daybreak, Strabimon would find the beaten-up Yamato and Gabumon, alongside Yagami Taichi and Agumon, and he was surprised that they managed to survive the night. Despite this, he wondered if there was any way to beat Zanbamon, who was immune to any attacks due to being a curse. Yamato would then ask Izumi Koshiro for information, and the latter explained the history of Cres Garurumon and Zanbamon to them, and how the latter was sealed by the former's soul. Strabimon would then let the rest know, if involuntarily, that he knew where said soul was, though after being asked by Yamato, he pointed out that it'd be pointless to go where it was. Nonetheless, after Gabumon pressured him to tell them, he led them to his village, though stressing out that they needed to return before nightfall. He explained that that was where Zanbamon was sealed, and thus, the first place to meet its wrath. Inside a cave, the trio found the broken down sword that was Cres Garurumon's soul, the "Kijū Engetsutou". Strabimon believed that its current state was proof that Cres Garurumon's power lost to Zanbamon's perseverance, and thus, there was no way to stop Zanbamon's curse anymore. Garurumon refused Strabimon's cynism, however, and took up the blade, which confused Strabimon who believed it to be useless. Strabimon was confused at Yamato and Garurumon's lack of fear, with Yamato explaining that, once they put their minds into something, they did it. Strabimon then watched Were Garurumon: Sagittarius Mode fighting Zanbamon, as well as his evolution into Cres Garurumon and victory over the curse.
The day after, Strabimon took the "Kijū Engetsutou" himself, realizing that Cres Garurumon's soul responded to Yamato and Gabumon due to their power to believe and their strength to never fear. He then promised them that everyone, including himself, would grow stronger and master Cres Garurumon's techniques.
After Negamon was finally defeated in "The End of the Adventure", Strabimon left flowers in the graves of his fallen compatriots, accompanied by the other Digimon of the village: Mojyamon, a Monimon, two yellow and a rare Pickmon, a Budmon, a Kotemon and a Gizamon.
