Summary[edit]
In Wall Slum, a Deltamon and a Dark Tyranomon clashed against each other. Nagasumi Eiji, also known as Cracker Fang and the new leader of the Sons of Chaos (SoC), ordered them to stop as fighting was strictly prohibited on Ninth Avenue, but neither cared much for him until Loogamon, his Partner Digimon, stated he worked for him, the boss of Wall Slum's Ninth Avenue, who ordered them to follow his rules if they intended to stay. As they were both Adults and Loogamon was only a Child, they just laughed at him, so Loogamon easily took both of them down, against Eiji's wishes. Loogamon wanted to go back on patrol afterwards, but Thunderballmon (Loogamon's underling Nº6) riding on Tyranomon (Loogamon's underling Nº3) showed up, with the former telling their boss they couldn't find Nº8 (Dogmon) or Nº9 (Espimon). Loogamon ordered them to keep looking. Eiji didn't know they were missing so Loogamon explained they had skipped out on their bait duties this morning. While Eiji was unhappy that he wasn't told before, Loogamon thought it'd be fine for him to learn now, then explained that more Digimon had disappeared on the other Avenues so they were going to investigate it, which Eiji agreed with.
In a library on the First Avenue, with a Mokumon giving him light so he could read a book, DORUmon, the boss of First Avenue and former leader of SoC, said he had heard about the disappearances but there hadn't been any cases on his Avenue. Loogamon asked him if he had heard anything else as he always kept tabs on that stuff and DORUmon explained he heard the boss of Fourth Avenue had been replaced recently so they should try asking them. Loogamon was angered by DORUmon's attitude but nonetheless thanked DORUmon and left. Before following, Eiji thanked DORUmon and gave his regards to Tartarus, or rather, to Kisakata Kosuke. DORUmon stated they were an unruly team.
Riding the train, Eiji commented he found it really weird how so many Digimon disappeared over a wide area in a relatively short time span and asked Loogamon if he thought there might be a group behind it, while he remembered the nine Avenues and their respective bosses:
- DORUmon
- Revolmon
- ?
- Previously Digitamamon
- Great King Scumon
- Cyberdramon
- Rebellimon
- Minotaurmon
- Loogamon
Eiji then pointed out they had no major clues and didn't know why Nº8 and Nº9 were targetted. He then noticed Loogamon was staring at him, and the Demon Beast said it was worth looking into, which made Eiji happy. The duo then arrived at Fourth Avenue and went to Fourth Avenue Castle, where they found a group of wounded Digimon and Digimon taking care of them, which included Octmon, Morphomon, Sistermon Blanc, Luxmon, Cupimon, Liollmon, Impmon, Yukidarumon, Bokomon, Pucchiemon, Patamon, Pumpmon, Gottsumon, Gaossmon, Pomumon, and others. Loogamon detected a smell, but before he could follow it, the duo found themselves face-to-face with Orochimon, the new boss of Fourth Avenue, who recognized Loogamon as the Demon Wolf of the Castle of Nine Wolves. He introduced himself as the new boss of Fourth Avenue and apologized for the wounded Digimon. Loogamon asked him about the recent disappearances, which included two of his underlings, but Orochimon said he wasn't aware of any of his own Digimon disappearing and he wished for peace within Wall Slum. For that, he took down the previous Fourth Avenue boss down amd assumed his position, as Fourth Avenue couldn't endure its conflicts with Fifth and Sixth Avenues any longer. He then added he wanted to form an alliance with DORUmon and Loogamon, as with their powers combined, they could turn Wall Slum into a wonderful city of happiness. Eiji was convinced Orochimon was a good guy, while Orochimon didn't want to pressure Loogamon for an answer but hoped he'd give it some thought.
After leaving the castle, Eiji pointed out Orochimon was an upstanding Digimon despite how scary he looked but Loogamon disagreed. Eiji asked if Loogamon thought Orochimon was lying but Loogamon didn't think him wanting to bring peace to Wall Slum was unbelievable, just that it wouldn't be so easy to do in a dog-eats-dog environment. Regardless, their priority was to look for Nº8 and Nº9 and he was curious about what he smelled in the castle, so he wanted to go to the Fifth Avenue, also known as Dust Kingdom. However, said place had been burnt to the ground, leaving wounded Digimon such as Nanimon, Vegimon, Namakemon and Karatuki Numemon behind. Behind the smoke, Eiji saw Leon Alexander, also known as Hacker Judge, who carried a severely hurt Tyumon in his arms. He explained he was investigating the unusual ocurrences in Wall Slum as a malicious Cracker could be behind them. Leon tried to give Eiji the Tyumon but it died and turned back into a Digitama. Pulsemon, Leon's Partner Digimon, then showed up and explained the other Digimon had turned back into Digitamas too. Leon thanked Pulsemon for the information. Eiji realized this wasn't about mere disappearances anymore, they had to find whoever was responsible for this. Leon realized Eiji was also looking into the same thing he was and Loogamon confirmed it, then asked him if he had any leads, but he had none. Instead, he had a date with some ladies to see if they knew anything and invited Eiji to it, to Eiji's confusion.
Said date was in a restaurant in the Real World. Eiji walked to their table where he found the ladies were Xu Yulin, the Chief of the Digipolice, and Tamahime Satsuki, the Deputy Chief, who criticized him for arriving 20 minutes late as she ate some pastries. Neither was happy about meeting up with the male duo, with Yulin wondering if they intended to start another war. Leon explained the situation and pointed out the Digipolice must be investigating it too, while Eiji asked for their help. Yulin explained the number of disappearances had rapidly outpaced the population growth and Wall Slum's population would plummet in no time. The incidents had no influence in the Real World so far but they caught the Digipolice's attention who had already begun to gather information. Said disappearances had occured randomly across the various Avenues at first but recently they had intensified on Fourth Avenue, while Fifth Avenue faced a massacre. As such, Yulin expected something similar to happen next on Sixth Avenue. Leon pointed out they couldn't rule out a malicious hacker being behind it while Eiji vowed not to let any more of his crew become victims. Satsuki slammed the table and shut both of them up, instead complaining about how she sent Sealsdramon in undercover but he still hadn't found any useful information. Furthermore, not every Digimon had turned into a Digitama so there were too many things they weren't sure of yet (as she explained this, two Commandramon were shown carrying Digitamas). Satsuki ordered the hacker duo not to jump to conclusions yet and Yulin pointed out they still had things to look into, which both men agreed with.
After they left the restaurant and the Digipolice went on their way, Leon leaned on Eiji and decided to stick with him as he could tell Eiji was worried. They then went to Sixth Avenue, where a Soundbirdmon flew through the night. Pulsemon checked the roofs but found nothing while Loogamon followed a scent. The group was then taken by surprise by a loud growl which came from the castle. There, they found a Nidhoggmon eating a Digimon which it swallowed whole, convincing Eiji and Leon that it was the culprit.
