A colossal Digimon that takes vast amounts of energy into its body, and is in a constant state of thermal runaway. The light emitted from its wings indicates what stage of thermal runaway it is in; the more it approaches the danger level, the redder it becomes. Nidhoggmon repeatedly destroys and absorbs things, leaving nothing behind in its wake.
Its Special Moves are firing red-hot beams from its eyes (Annihilention), and condensing the energy within its body, and breathing it out of its mouth in the form of a wave (Rudiment).

Anime[edit]

Digimon Adventure:[edit]

Nidhoggmon is a major antagonist.

It appears in "Countdown to Tokyo's Annihilation", after Orochimon's true head resurfaces and absorbs a massive amount of energy and evolves into this form. Nidhoggmon is able to hack Izumi Koshiro's tablet to communicate with the Chosen Children, claiming to be "a Ultimate Digimon that surpasses the Perfect Digimon".

The gigantic Digimon starts its attack against the already exhausted group using its Annihilention, being confronted by Yagami Taichi, Ishida Yamato and their Partners Digimon. He responds with a concentrated attack released from his mouth, which is intercepted by the Warp Evolution from Greymon and Garurumon to Omegamon, thanks to the channeled energies of Yagami Hikari and Takaishi Takeru in the Human World, after reacting the feathers that appeared before they.

After Omegamon blocks all of his attacks during the battle, and uses his Garuru Cannon to freeze him, Nidhoggmon is able to free himself thanks to his superheated body due to the large amount of accumulated energy, then using his Rudiment against Omegamon, which he manages to block the attack after being powered by the Digivices of the two boys, attacking and cutting Nidhoggmon in half with his Grey Sword, defeating him definitively.

Novel[edit]

Digimon Liberator[edit]

Yuuki used an EX7-060 Nidhoggmon during her rematch against a rogue NPC in "HEAVY METAL PLAY". She resurrected it from her trash before the chapter began, as it was a crucial card in her strategy to defeat the NPC. Yuuki's strategy with EX7-060 Nidhoggmon paid off after the NPC played its EX7-014 Volcanicdramon, whose When Played effect deleted EX7-060 Nidhoggmon as it was Yuuki's Digimon with the lowest DP. This in turn triggered EX7-060 Nidhoggmon's When Destroyed effect, letting Yuuki play her EX7-056 Orochimon from her trash at no cost.
