Pico Devimon informs Vamdemon that Garudamon has been sighted, and someone has reported the Chosen Children to be in the real world. Pico Devimon says that they’re raising their search efforts. Tailmon, Wizarmon, Death Meramon, Gesomon, and Raremon are all seen searching.
The Chosen Children are discussing where the eighth child could be, and Koshiro says their best assumption is that the eighth child is also in Odaiba, because all seven of them lived in Hikarigaoka before moving to Odaiba. The kids take the subway, and the Digimon curiously ask questions. Jo tells them they need to be quiet so they don’t draw attention, and everyone agrees to try. As they’re waiting for the train, Koromon and Tunomon look around curiously, and as they see and hear the train approaching, are convinced it’s one of Vamdemon’s minions. They jump out in front of the train, much to everyone's alarm. They manage to avoid being run over, and the children board their train.
On board, Sora gives her seat to a woman with a baby. The baby reaches out and grabs the curly vine sticking out of Pyocomon’s flower, and begins to yank on it. The baby refuses to stop, and all the other Digimon wince in sympathy. Pyocomon yells for the baby to stop, and the entire train goes silent. The baby releases Pyocomon, and a nearby boy asks if the doll talked. Sora, thinking quickly, pretends that she was the one who spoke, and convinces the other passengers that she is practicing ventriloquism. The children sigh in relief. The boy says he wants that doll, and his father asks Sora where she got it. Sora sees that the next stop is Nerima, and quickly blurts out that she got it from the Nerima department store. The train doors open, and most of the people leave the train, including the woman with the baby. Sora sits back down, and everyone sighs deeply. Everyone is sleepy.
Later the train stops, but everyone is sleeping. Patamon sees what it is, and starts to say something, but Palmon shushes him. After everyone wakes up, they realize they’ve missed their stop. Koshiro says that they can get on another line. As they’re walking, everyone starts to say they’re hungry. They all agree they haven’t eaten in a while. Koshiro and Jo are walking through a crowd, and Jo suddenly notices that the rest of the group is gone. Koshiro tries to use his Digivice to find them, but it doesn’t react. The two leave the subway and look for everyone else. They see them in a window eating, and go towards them. They barely miss running into Death Meramon in the intersection.
Everyone is delighted by the food, and when Jo and Koshiro walk in, they tell them to order something. Jo asks if they used their fare money, and Mimi says they used all of it. Jo is horrified, and says now they can’t get home. As he yells at them, his stomach growls, and he decides to get food too. Now that they have no money, they wonder how to get to Odaiba for free. Taichi says he has a foolproof plan, and they walk down to the street.
Taichi has decided to hitchhike, and he tries to get the attention of various cars. Koshiro says it isn’t as easy as it looks on television, and Jo says it will be three days before Taichi manages to get a ride. Taichi says he’d like to see them try, and they go to the curb. They manage to get a taxi to pull up, but it leaves quickly. Next Yamato tries, and as soon as he holds up his hand, a car stops. It is driven by a seductive looking woman, and he turns her down, very embarrassed. Taichi asks why he said no, and Yamato shouts that they wouldn’t have all fit in the car. Next Sora and Mimi try, and everyone agrees they will be much better at this. Sure enough, a van pulls up quickly, and the driver says he’ll take them.
The driver tells the boys in the backseat that they are baggage that came with Sora and Mimi, so they’d better not make any noise or else he’ll dump them in the middle of the highway for something. Taichi quietly asks Sora what’s up with him, and she says he’s taking them to Odaiba so they should try to behave.
The driver is listening to very loud music, and Mimi shouts, trying to get him to turn it down. A broadcast comes over the radio, replacing the music. It says that there was a bombing in Hikarigaoka, and this might be why electronics are malfunctioning there. The children all listen, knowing that this is probably a result of their fight. The broadcast goes on to say that unofficial sources say that a large elephant and bird were witnessed there. In the backseat, Koromon accidentally poops, and everyone screams and flies out of the car. The angry driver demands to know who did it, and as Taichi is about to step up, Sora apologetically says it was her. She says she’ll clean it up, but the guy doesn’t believe her. He remembers Jo was sitting in the backseat, and runs over to grab his shirt by the collar. Koshiro runs over, asking him to stop, and the driver backhands him, knocking him over the edge of the bridge. He starts to fall towards the water, and Mochimon evolves to Tentomon and grabs him. Suddenly Gesomon emerges from the water, and Gomamon evolves to challenge him. The driver runs away, and Ikkakumon uses his Harpoon Vulcan. People from all around see it, and assume it must be a publicity stunt or something of that kind.
After the fight, the children all run away, riding Ikkakumon down the river towards Odaiba. Unfortunately, Pico Devimon sees them, and runs off to inform Vamdemon.
