Mindlink

Mindlink (マインドリンク, Maindo Rinku) is a technology that digitizes a human's mind and transfers their consciousness into a Digimon's Digicore. It allows humans to experience the Digital World through a Digimon's senses.

Appearances

Novel

Digimon Seekers

Mindlink allows a human and a Digimon to share their senses and communicate directly. The human's consciousness resides within the Digimon's Digicore, while their physical body remains in the Real World. A Digimon Linker collects the user's biometric information, brain waves, and consciousness levels to facilitate the process.

Mindlink has a time limit. Prolonged use risks causing the human's mental data to merge with the Digimon's Digicore, preventing them from returning to their body. This condition is known as DMIA (Digital Missing In Action), and leaves the person's body comatose.

Manga

See Cards with the Mindlink Effect

Several Tamer cards in the Digimon Card Game feature the Mind Link keyword, which places that Tamer card as the bottom evolution base of a Digimon with no Tamer in its evolution bases. Introduced in BT-14 Blast Ace, this effect is primarily associated with characters from Digimon Seekers and Digimon Seekers ~Witch of the Crossroads~. For example, [BT20-089 Cracker Fang & Hacker Judge] can Mindlink with any Digimon with Pulsemon in its text, with the Sons of Chaos trait, or the Seekers trait, referencing the Partner Digimon of Nagasumi Eiji and Leon Alexander, Loogamon and Pulsemon, respectively.

Unchain from Digimon Liberator is given this effect, as [EX11-070 Unchain], to Mindlink with a Digimon with Maquinamon in its text.
