The episode begins with Mimi arriving on a plane with jet lag as she had come to attend her cousin's wedding. Elsewhere at the Motomiya residence Chibimon wakes up Daisuke by repeatedly jumping on his stomach and Iori, at the Hida residence finds Upamon watching Fumiko making kanpyomaki gourd sushi and fetches him before she notices Upamon while explaining thet Miyako had asked Fumiko to make the dish. At the Yagami residence Hikari packs Tailmon into her backpack much to Tailmon's displeasure, and at the Takaishi Takeru leaves for school almost forgetting Patamon, much to the Digimon's complaint. At her family store Miyako obtains ingredient for the Chosen Childrens' picnic. Her mother questions where they plan to have the picnic and Miyako insists that they haven't decided yet. Miyako makes a hasty exit to avoid further questions. This upset Poromon who was cramped in the bag she carried. Takeru and Iori meet up with her and they then to to the school where Daisuke and Hikari were waiting for them. They all sneak into the school which was closed for holidays and prepare to go to the Digital World. Mimi unexpectedly intrudes in on them as they were about to open the Digital Gate as she was looking over her old school. Takeru introduces her to Daisuke, Miyako, and Iori. Daisuke explains that they were about to go to a picnic in the Digital World. Miyako invites Mimi to come along.
They enter the Digital World pleased to see no Dark Towers in the area. Miyako explains the situation with the Digimon Kaiser to Mimi as they walk to the picnic site. Takeru questions if they should to eat but Daisuke says it's to early. Hikari mentions that she's hungry and Daisuke instantly changes his mind much to Takeru's dismay. Miyako offered Mimi some tuna and mayo getting an over gratified response from Mimi. Hawkmon asks Armadimon to pass a gourd roll and Armadimon tosses it to him but misses. Hawkmon and Miyako to chase after it. Mimi goes to look for them but falls into some sort of trap door leading to another place. Mimi awakes to find herself with Miyako and Hawkmon in a dark forest with a Dark Tower present. Several Otamamon and Gekomon appear. Mimi is pleased to see them but as Hawkmon warns they are under the control of Evil Rings. They flee from the for a bit but are rescued by Palmon. Palmon and Mimi get emotional about seeing each other again. Palmon says she knew that Mimi would come to save her but is a bit surprised when Mimi blurts out that she actually came to have a picnic. They try to contact the others, who are already looking for them, but find that communications is barely possible, with the others only getting a weak signal. In his base the Digimon Kaiser takes notice of their presence in his area and dispatches the Gokimon brothers to attack them. The Gokimon brother appear and ask Miyako and Mimi for a date to the twos disgust. The younger Gokimon brother tells the older one that the rejection hurt and they agree to get them back. Miyako asks if they are brothers and the two get angry asking if she had a problem with it. She says no and the Gokimon brothers both insist that the other one should go first. Mimi mentions that the two Gokimon get along well and they again ask if their was a problem with that. Mimi also says no and the two Gokimon brother agree to attack together with Dream Dust covering the two girls and their Digimon in trash angering Mimi and shocking Miyako. The Gokimon then begin summoning larger items to be dropped on them forcing them to flee. Mimi asks Palmon to evolve but Palmon explains that the Dark Tower prevents that. Miyako notes that even with the Evil Rings that the Gokimon brother maintain a brotherly love and fantasies if she and Mimi had such a close relationship. Hawkmon snaps her out of it so she can armor evolve him to Holsmon. Miyako mounts Holsmon and he engages the Gokimon with his Red Sun attack halting their charge. The Gokimon ask each other if they are okay. They then attack with Gokimon Brothers Kick and Gokimon Brothers Chop but Holsmon avoids both attacks. Following Mimi's suggestion, Miyako and Holsmon align themselves between the Gokimon Brothers and the Dark Tower just as they used their Gokimon Brothers Crash attack then swiftly avoided it whole Mimi blinded them with a flood light that was near the Dark Tower. The Gokimon Brothers lost control and accidentally damaged the Dark Tower. Mimi evolves Palmon to Togemon and she and Holsmon attacked together with Prickly Bang Bang and Red Sun to finish the tower off. The Digimon Kaiser states that it was an unpleasant vacation and returns to the real world upset. Miyako sends a message to the others that they're okay. Freed from the Evil Rings the Gokimon begin fighting each other over petty things leaving Mimi and Miyako speechless over how removing the Evil Ring had made them act that way. The Gekomon and Otamamon, now freed from the Evil Rings, arrive to thank Mimi for helping them. Togemon announces that she'll protect the area from now on. They return to the real world and Miyako tells Mimi that it was nice to meet her before she returned to America.
