Edits[edit]

English[edit]

  • Ken’s team is not referred to by name in the dub. It also claims that he is the team captain.
  • Daisuke’s personality is heavily exaggerated in the dub (even more than in other episodes). Whereas the Japanese version of the character is more humble and eager to play against Ken, the dub version constantly brags about how much better he is than Ken.
  • A comment about Poromon not having a spine is added to the dub when Miyako squishes him.
  • The insert song “Because I’m Me” is replaced by “Let’s Kick It Up” in the dub.
  • Generic background music is replaced by “I Run Around” in the dub.
  • The dub adds a running gag about Miyako needing to be pinched when she gets too excited.
  • Miyako and Ken’s age difference is not commented on in the dub.
  • Ken receives a nickname in the dub: “The Rocket”.
  • “Death Valley” is changed to “The Forbidden Valley of No Return” in the dub.
  • Some of Ken’s statements during battle that mirror statements he made earlier during the soccer game are rewritten in the dub.
  • The scene in which Ken’s identity as the Kaiser is revealed is different between the two versions.
