⇨ Original An Evil Dragon Digimon that plots to rule through rage and fear. Despite being a Perfect, it boasts a power that is reminiscent of Megidramon, one of the Four Great Dragons Digimon who is renowned for being the most evil, and so Regulusmon's arrival is nothing short of a disaster. Its body is the source of an infection known as "GRB" (Gulus Realm Burst)[N 1], and it is said that Digimon infected with "GRB Factor" have their personalities altered and become frenzied. However, the infection has not been confirmed in Digimon that have had the secretion "Black Digitron", which is said to be the primary cause of Digimon turning black, mixed in with them.
Its Special Moves are opening the shield on its left arm wide and biting the enemy with it (KalypBite), firing three penetrating lasers from its shield (Genierce), and piercing the enemy with its two-pronged tail (Dead-end Spike). In addition, for its greatest threat "GranTrES", it shoots a dark hellfire sphere from its mouth, swallowing not only matter but also light, and erasing everything without leaving a trace.

Regulusmon can be considered a "dark" counterpart to Canoweissmon, as it was introduced in Digimon Ghost Game as a separate consciousness of Gammamon’s and as the evolution of Gulus Gammamon. Its design derives from Canoweissmon in the same way as similar forms of Gammamon compared to their equivalent counterparts; in addition to being dark in color, it has several battle-oriented features that Canoweissmon lacks, implying it to be inherently more powerful. These features can also be equated to Gammamon's various Adult forms: Regulusmon's blue scarf becoming an auxiliary pair of wings alludes to Kaus Gammamon's swift flight, while the gunport-bearing shield used for Genierce represents Wezen Gammamon's ranged weaponry and tank-like body plan.
In addition to being explicitly compared to Megidramon by the Digimon Reference Book, they share the Evil Dragon-type classification. This serves to liken the "GRB" (Gulus Realm Burst) infection it produces to the Digital Hazard, a connection furthered by Arcturusmon.[1] Megidramon also acts as the Dark Evolution of Guilmon in Digimon Tamers, a comparable role to Gulus Gammamon’s in Ghost Game. The comparison is fully cemented in Regulusmon's role as the final antagonist of Ghost Game, handily matching and even outclassing several Ultimate Digimon in succession—initially including Siriusmon. This follows on from Canoweissmon's Gran Nova boasting Ultimate-class power, which itself is proven by that technique inflicting substantial damage on Regulusmon.
↑Gulus Realm Burst, as well as the acronym GRB, is a reference to gamma-ray burst, flashes of gamma rays that are the most energetic and luminous electromagnetic events in the universe.
