Belphemon is one of the Seven Great Demon Lords, who is revived by Kurata Akihiro with the intention of using the Digimon to rule both the worlds.

Its real personality is unknown and it is mostly used by Kurata as a vessel for him to destroy and control the human world.

Digimon Savers[edit]
Belphemon: Sleep Mode's Digitama was found sealed away in some ruins discovered by Kurata Akihiro. On a whim, he decided to nurture the Digitama, which eventually hatched into Belphemon, which he plans to use to destroy and take over the entire world. Kurata proceeded to collect Digimon life energy to strengthen and awaken Belphemon to use as a weapon. Using a command device created by Thoma H. Norstein, he awakened Belphemon: Sleep Mode. Belphemon seems to be completely invincible while asleep, being completely unscathed by any attacks by the DATS team and even several missiles.
After Thoma betrayed Kurata and destroyed the device for controlling Belphemon: Sleep Mode, Kurata digitized himself and merged with it, causing his clock to ring and awaken as Belphemon: Rage Mode, then went on a rampage trying to destroy the human world. However, it was easily defeated by Shine Greymon: Burst Mode, officially ending Kurata's sinister plans once and for all. Kurata was separated from Belphemon and drops into a space-time rift he created with his space-oscillation bombs and was never heard of again.
