Edits[edit]

English[edit]

  • Devimon is much more talkative in the Saban dub. He also mentions the children by name, even though he is not supposed to know them yet.
  • For some reason, Saban removes all instances of Jou complaining that he didn't want to go to camp.
  • Saban uses the Japanese name for Gomamon's Marching Fishes attack in this episode.
  • Orgemon’s line clarifying that he can’t swim is removed from the Saban dub.
  • Piyomon's piyopiyo chanting is changed to a song about Sora in the Saban dub. In the Animax dub, she just makes indistinct bird noises.
  • Sora always refers to Jou as "Jou-senpai" in the Japanese version, as he is in a higher grade than she is. As there is no English equivalent to this phrase, both English dubs remove it.
  • The Saban dub adds narration to Gomamon's flashback.
  • Jou is made significantly more cowardly in the Saban dub.
  • The traditional Japanese music that plays during the festival is replaced with generic music in the Saban dub.
  • The Saban dub adds numerous references to Halloween, despite the festival having nothing to do with it.
  • The Saban dub removes the shot before the eyecatch of the priest sneaking up on Jou and Sora.
  • The graveyard is not referred to by name in the Saban dub.
  • Jou’s sutra is replaced by a simple chant in the Saban dub, presumably because American audiences would not understand what a sutra is, or because it is a religious reference. The Animax dub leaves in the sutra references.
  • The hit that Bakemon takes from Ikkakumon is censored by Saban.
