"The Biggest Dreamer" (ザ ビッゲスト ドリーマー Za Biggesuto Dorīmā) is the opening song for Digimon Tamers, sung by Wada Kouji and composed by Ōta Michihiko. It is also featured in the soundtrack for Digimon Tamers: The Adventurers' Battle and Digimon Tamers: The Runaway Digimon Express.

Opening Description

Version 1

The first version of the opening lasted from episode 1 to 23.

The opening begins in a rough blue background as a silhouette of Guilmon roars in the background. He morphs into the icon on the Digimon Tamers logo as Matsuda Takato, Makino Ruki, Lee Jianliang, Katou Juri, and Shiota Hirokazu (the latter two are shrouded in darkness) are seen running towards the left with many other children. This is accompanied by a purple-colored sky background and white silhouettes of Guilmon, Terriermon, and Renamon flying in the foreground. The children immediately tries to look at them to notice their presence.

Next, several images of Takato, Jianliang, and Ruki are shown in order, followed by a D-Ark screen with the full Digimon Tamers logo in front as Culumon flies around and by the logo. Next, Takato, Ruki, and Jianliang are seen walking away before looking back to notice various Digimon flying through various Tokyo landmarks. Amidst a crowd, Guilmon pops out cheerfully, while Terriermon is on a streetlight, and Renamon leans back in an alley. Birds fly around Culumon, before the camera pans out, revealing that Impmon is also with Culumon.

Takato, followed by Jianliang and Ruki pull out their D-Arks while the skies show an Earth-like map. The camera then looks down at the three Tamers, as the light uncovers to reveal Juri, Hirokazu, and Shaochung are also with them. The scene showcases Guilmon and his evolutions Growmon, Megalo Growmon, and Dukemon, Terriermon and his evolutions Galgomon, Rapidmon, and Saint Galgomon, and Renamon and her evolutions Kyubimon, Taomon, and Sakuyamon. Notably in this version, all of their Ultimate forms are in the form of a silhouette. The opening then shows a fireball growing out from within a light blue ray.

This is followed by Takato and Guilmon in the foreground laying by each other as they give a gesture, while in the background Guilmon shoots a Fireball, Growmon does a Grow Claw, and Megalo Growmon uses Double Edge; a brief image of Dukemon (as a silhouette) and Impmon are shown afterwards. Terriermon lies on Jianliang's head in the foreground, while in the background Terriermon does a Petit Twister, Galgomon uses Gatling Arm, and Rapidmon goes for a Golden Triangle; this is followed by a brief image of Saint Galgomon and Beelzebumon Blast Mode, both in silhouettes. Finally, Ruki and Renamon pass by one another and gives a high-five; in the background, Renamon uses Koyōsetsu, Kyubimon does Onibidama, and Taomon simply twirls around.

Finally after a brief shot of Sakuyamon (as a silhouette), Jianliang takes off his sunglasses, followed by Ruki and her sunglasses, and Takato and his goggles. Impmon is then shown walking towards the camera, while in the background Beelzebumon Blast Mode (as a silhouette) slowly fades in and the background of Shinjuku featuring the Tokyo Metropolitan Government fade into red. Culumon pops in and flies above as the final shot fades in, featuring Takato, Jianliang, and Ruki as they slowly walk forwards with the children (with Juri and Hirokazu shaded in darkness). Finally, the Tamer's respective Digimon partners show up as each of them brings out their D-Ark to shine a beam of light.

Version 2

The second version of the opening lasted from episode 24 to 51.

Kenta has been added to scenes showing the other Tamers, with the last shot featuring his Digimon partner Marin Angemon. The silhouettes hiding Dukemon, Saint Galgomon, Sakuyamon, and Beelzebumon Blast Mode (in one scene) are now gone, now showing the forms visibly.
