| Koshiro and Tentomon are walking on a mountain path. Tentomon wants to take a break, but Koshiro says he wants to meet Gennai as soon as possible. Tentomon points out that it’s already been two months, and Koshiro says it doesn't matter, and he’s going ahead. Tentomon doesn’t want to get separated, and follows him. A little ways away, Pico Devimon pushes a sign into the ground, worrying that Vamdemon will punish him. He remembers Vamdemon asking when he will steal the Crests from the children, and promising to get them soon. Pico Devimon thinks that if he doesn’t get them this time, Vamdemon will kill him. He sees Koshiro and Tentomon coming up the path, and quickly hides.
Koshiro pulls out his Crest, saying he hopes that Gennai will tell him the secrets behind it. Pico Devimon takes a picture of it with a small camera. Tentomon admires Koshiro’s curiosity. The two walk up to Pico Devimon’s sign, and see that it warns of falling poop. They are alarmed, and decide to take another path. A little ways down there, however, they find another sign advertising a bottomless pit of poop. They turn again, and immediately find a sign saying that savage poop might be near. They note that this area is nasty, and as they turn to go, the ground cracks under their feet. They fall into a deep, dark hole, and Pico Devimon says his plan worked.
Tentomon tries to fly, but finds that it only makes him fall faster. A voice says they will fall to hell, and tells them to grab onto some pool floaties. The voice says that desires will weigh them down and make them fall. Koshiro says neither of them desire anything, and the voice says that Koshiro is guilty of wanting to know everything. He asks if that’s wrong, and the voice chides him, saying questions like that will make his curiosity grow. The inflatable duck Koshiro is sitting on swells and pops, sending him falling. Tentomon grabs him, but the two continue sinking. The voice tells Koshiro to give up his inquisitive heart, and left with no choice, he does. A bubble floats out of the blackness, and Koshiro and Tentomon are left floating in what appears to be outer space. Koshiro’s eyes are sleepy and unresponsive, and Tentomon asks where they are. The voice from earlier says that they are in his universe, and introduces himself as Vademon. He takes Koshiro’s inquisitiveness, saying it must not dirty the sacred universe. He gives Koshiro a textbook on obtaining cosmic power, and leaves. Koshrio begins to read the book out loud, and Tentomon tries to stop him. Koshiro angrily pushes him away and keeps reading, ignoring his Digivice as it begins to beep.
Tentomon takes Koshiro’s computer off him back and opens it, revealing Taichi. He says he is in the real world with Koromon. Koshiro looks at the computer, and tells Taichi to call him once in a while, because he’s clearly not coming back. The connection is severed, and Koshiro goes back to his textbook.
In a cluttered shop area, Vademon places Koshiro’s inquisitive heart on the shelf next to an ignorant heart. He says that if there are people who will get rid of their hearts, there will be people to buy them. The doorbell rings, and Vademon comes out to see Pico Devimon. Pico Devimon asks if Koshiro and Tentomon fell into his universe, and shows him a photo for reference. Pico Devimon offers to trade a large pile of poop for the Crest, which for some reason excites Vademon, who says he will get the Crest.
In Vademon’s universe, Koshiro is doing exercises from the textbook, and snaps at Tentomon to stop bothering him. Vademon appears, and tells Koshiro to get rid of any possessions he has. Koshiro empties the contents of his pockets, then throws his Crest. Tentomon chases after it, but Vademon shoots him with his ray gun and tells Koshiro to continue his exercises. Vademon returns to Pico Devimon with the Crest, and demands his fine poop in trade. Pico Devimon tries to go, but can’t, and Vademon is offended. He kicks Pico Devimon out.
In the universe, Tentomon degenerates to Mochimon, then to Babumon. He starts to cry, and Koshiro tells him to be quiet and stop interrupting. Babumon cries more, and his tears float in bubbles through the space. In them, Koshiro sees himself with Tentomon. The bubbles abruptly burst, and Koshiro gasps and shakes his head, as if waking up. He quickly goes to Babumon, picking him up and apologizing for making him degenerate. Just then, they hear voices. Pico Devimon is pleading for the Crest, and Vademon is not interested. Koshiro and Babumon see a door in the space, and go over to it. They watch, and see that Vademon has Koshiro’s Crest. Koshiro finds it difficult to think clearly, but with Babumon’s affirmations, realizes he’s been tricked. They decide to get back Koshiro’s inquisitive heart and the Crest. They open the door, and Babumon immediately runs out, around the corner. He comes back with the Crest, and Vademon and Pico Devimon chasing him. Koshiro manages to lock them in the outer space, barring the door.
Babumon leads Koshiro to his inquisitive heart, and he apologizes for throwing it away. He reclaims it just as Vademon and Pico Devimon break down the door. They chase Koshiro and Tentomon into the universe again, and Babumon evolves several times, and attacks Vademon as Kabuterimon. Vademon throws several meteors, and Kabuterimon is blown back by the force. As he lies, beaten, Koshiro encourages him to get up. His Crest starts to shine, and Kabuterimon super evolves into Atlur Kabuterimon. He smashes through Vademon’s meteors, making his way across the space. Vademon throws a planet, expecting this to stop Atlur Kabuterimon, but he uses his Horn Buster to destroy it, the large explosion sending shock waves through the universe.
Above them, Yamato and Takeru think they’re experiencing an earthquake until Atlur Kabuterimon bursts out of the ground. Atlur Kabuterimon reverts to Mochimon, having expended too much energy. Koshiro thanks him, hugging him. Yamato and Takeru run towards them, happy to see that they’re well. After they say hello, an image of Gennai appears in the sky, and tells them the distortions are not all fixed. He tells them to use the information in the Digimon Analyzer he sent as a reference. Koshiro opens his computer, finding the Analyzer as Gennai said.
Pico Devimon is frightened, and Vamdemon’s portal opens up in front of him. Pico Devimon confesses that the Crest is not his, and Vamdemon punishes him with his bats.
