| All of the heroes have escaped from inside Sephirothmon except Takuya. As Agnimon he presses forward and finds himself inside Sephirothmon's Sphere of Steel. Agnimon is greeted by Mercuremon. Agnimon angrily demands to know how Sephirothmon and Mercuremon can simultaneously exist since they are the same person, but Mercuremon only responds saying there is little probability of Agnimon being able to grasp the concept of his own double presence and that no conversation could explain his world. Mercuremon appears behind Agnimon saying that he would be eradicated by contradictions. Agnimon takes a swing at Mercuremon, but he vanishes again, reappears in front of a mirror. Agnimon insists that his first will tear into Mercuremon. He charges forward and strikes at Mercuremon again, but he melds into the mirror, leaving Agnimon punching the air. Mercuremon's voice comes from every direction saying that he could easily defeat him, but it would be boring, so he'll do as he pleases with the drama. Mercuremon says he'll let him take part in this dance. An image of Mercuremon appears in the mirror, saying that he would then die. Agnimon shatters the mirror but Mercuremon only laughs as an alarm sounds as an image of Mercuremon appears in a metal obelisk declaring that the curtain rises on the death scene.
Mercuremon announces Act One: Straying 「第一章：迷走」 and several of the metal obelisks begin to fall towards Agnimon. He skillfully avoids them and seeks Mercuremon, but Mercuremon can come and go in the mirrors as he pleases. Agnimon angrily asks if he is just playing with him. Mercuremon answers in an illusion projected by several mirrors, saying that he is wrong. He only wants to make their battle the height of elegance. Agnimon shatters all of the mirrors, making the illusion disappear, while Agnimon insists that Mercuremon is just running away. The actual Mercuremon applauds from behind Agnimon and asks what he means since he is right there. Agnimon fires his Burning Salamander attack, but Mercuremon reflects it with his Generous Mirror technique, knocking Agnimon to the ground. Mercuremon casually walks past Agnimon into another eyeball portal, and Agnimon quickly pursues him.
He finds himself inside a church inside the light sphere of Sephirothmon. He walks down the aisle and demands to know where Mercuremon. The pipe organ begins to play and Mercuremon materializes playing it. Mercuremon declares that they are in Act Two: Fallen Angel 「第二章：堕天使」. He states that it will be Agnimon's requiem. Agnimon insists that he won't lose a second time. Mercuremon only comments on Agnimon's impatience and says he wishes to who him something and with a snap of his finger Seraphimon's data came shattering into view through one of the windows wrapped in thorns. Mercuremon performs "Fallen Angel's Descent" 「堕天使降臨」 merging with Seraphimon's data to become Black Seraphimon.
Black Seraphimon declares they are in Act Three: Chaos 「第三章：混沌」. Black Seraphimon charges forward and upper cuts Agnimon into the air, then flies up and kicks him into the floor and follows through by grabbing Agnimon by the head and slamming him into the floor again. Outside of Sephirothmon the others have been watching the event and Tomoki demands to know why Seraphimon is attacking Agnimon. Bokomon explains that Mercuremon is imitating Seraphimon's data. Agnimon slide evolves into Vritramon and attacks with Corona Blaster, but it has no effect on Black Seraphimon's who charges into Vritramon and shocks him with his Testament attack, sending him crashing into the pews. Black Seraphimon states that he is pleases that his drama of dance and music is going how he wished. Outside, the others state that Takuya might be able to win with double spirit evolution as Kouji did. Vritramon continues to fire his Corona Blaster futilely, while Black Seraphimon declares that the power of a beast spirit is too crude to harm him, since he is much more elegant. Black Seraphimon declares that it is time for the finale and attacks with Seven's Hell causing Vritramon to devolve back into Takuya who falls to the ground with his goggles shattering.
A coffin appears and Black Seraphimon declares that they are in Act Four: The Final Curtain 「第四章：終焉」. Outside, Izumi, Junpei, and Tomoki decide to try to get inside Sephirothmon again in spite of Neamon reminding them that it didn't work before. They spirit evolve into Fairimon, Blitzmon, and Chackmon and attack Sephirothmon with Lightning Toppler, Brezzo Petalo, and Snow Bomber respectively, but they can't penetrate it. Black Seraphimon picks Takuya up by the head and commends him for fighting well, but says this is the end for him. Takuya sheds a tear, and Bokomon pleads to Seraphimon's Digitama to give Takuya the power. The Digitama flies up to Sephirothmon and sends in a beam of light that hits Takuya. Takuya sees both his Human and Beast Spirits of Fire. The Digitama falls back to the ground and Bokomon catches it. A fiery aura forms around Takuya forcing Black Seraphimon to release his grip on him. Takuya says everyone's feelings are directed to him, so he now knows he will not be defeated. His goggles are suddenly repaired just before he performs double spirit evolution, becoming Aldamon. Black Seraphimon says that while he's matched his tune with one of his own, he can't hope to match his power and launches another Seven's Hell attack, but it proved ineffective against Aldamon. Witnessing this, Black Seraphimon staggers backwards, frantically demanding Aldamon to stay away. He comes to the coffin and stares at it fearfully, pondering if it was meant for him. Aldamon unleashes his Brahma Sutra attack, which exposes Black Seraphimon's data. He scans Seraphimon's data from him returning it to his Digitama forcing Black Seraphimon to devolve back to Mercuremon. The light sphere of Sephirothmon dims and Mercuremon retreats back to the steel sphere. Aldamon follows, saying he can't escape. Mercuremon says that while he did put an end to his scenario, that he couldn't be beaten in the area of steel. Aldamon attacks with Brahma Shil vaporizing all of the steel. Aldamon charges forward to attack, which Mercuremon thinks is foolish because he can reflect any attack used on him. But to his surprise Aldamon reminds him that he stated that his fists will tear through him and punches a hole through his stomach revealing his data. He scans the Human Spirit of Steel. As the last sphere of Seraphimon goes dark, Aldamon exits and devolves back to Takuya to join the others. Bokomon is squirming as Seraphimon's Digitama is acting up. It hatches into a Patamon. Bokomon says that his son-daughter has been born, which gets weird responses from the others who want to know what he means by "son-daughter" is. Bokomon defends by saying that he doesn't know what his baby is. The symbol on the head of Sephirothmon shimmers for a moment.
