Please take a moment to fully read and understand the rules below. Each user is expected to follow the rules, and those that repeatedly break the rules will be banned.

When creating a page, please use the Create an Article page if possible or copy an existing, similar page. Pages that do not follow format will be deleted, as the object is to have a cohesive wiki that can be easily navigated and understood.

| Spamming is the process of adding external links to a page which hold no relevance.

Vandalism is purposefully inserting incorrect information into a page.

| Both are ban-able offences, and little to no warning will be given.

Editing
Names
| ORIGINAL/DUB NAMES
|
| Wikimon only uses the original, Japanese names for Digimon and characters ('Dub' names are listed on pages for reference, using a Dub slot in most templates). Please do not make any pages using the dub names, or change original terms in a to that of the Dub. If you prefer dub terms, just go to Digimon Wiki.

| For ease of use, most "Dub" names have page redirects to the original character. For instance, Veemon will redirect you to V-mon.
|
While the Japanese version is more consistent with their romanized character names, lately the idiots who run Digimon Dictionary have been providing extremely nonsensical transliterations of the Japanese names, even conflicting with grammatically correct ones they had already provided earlier. While we often err on the side of the more recent one provided by the Digimon Reference Book, it is up to Admin discretion.
- Example: "This looks like Babelfish vomited this into three different languages before being crapped out again in English. We'll just pretend this never happened and stick with the one that makes sense." (Piccolomon...)

| Bold text for Digimon
|
| Bolding Digimon for evolutions essentially applies to "story" characters. Some game evolutions apply, as long as it is a main character and if some evolutions are stated in a digimon's profile. In addition, evolutions should STAY in alphabetical order, this means bolded evolutions do NOT get moved to the top of the list.

| EVOLUTIONS

| Please provide a source for what Digimon evolves from/into what, whether it be from cards, video games, V-pets, etc - especially from games. To do this, place "{{ref|''[[source]]''}}" next to the specific Digimon. Users who fail to comply with this will have their edit(s) reverted unless a sufficient source to back up evidence is added. Persistent violation will lead to warnings.

| SPECIFICITY

| When citing a book or series, be as specific as possible. For books, include a page number, and for anime or manga, specify the episode or chapter.

Any music translations must be credited to their proper translator. Please use the following template:

Image Uploads
General
| GENERAL IMAGE RULES AND TIPS

| Filesize: Try really, really hard to keep images under 500kb. Many digimon pages are image heavy and massive filesizes take up unnecessary space on the already strained server and also cause loading problems for users.
|
| In line with the filesize considerations, it is unnecessary to have screenshots wider than 600 or 800 pixels wide as the wiki previews them at 600 anyway.
|
| You really do not need fifty screenshots of Lilithmon's massive tracts of land on her page. Yes, they're nice, but let's not be excessive.
|
Characters
| CHARACTER IMAGES
|
When uploading image files for characters, please use the original, Japanese names. For some images, citing the source of the image would be appreciated. Also, please don't use any spaces or dashes in the name, and keep them lowercase (lowercase means AVOID USING CAPITAL LETTERS). This makes everything easier to search for, and certain characters cause images to be unusable.
- Example: Yagami Taichi = Yagami_taichi.jpg.
- Example: Akira = Akira.jpg.

| For image of character art with a specific source, such as art made for a video game, use an underscore and then the commonly-used abbreviation for similar images.
|
For alternate artwork, such as reference sheets, please keep the same format. Add numbers to the end of there are multiple pictures.

Digimon

When uploading image files for digimon, please use the original, Japanese names. For some images, citing the source of the image would be appreciated. Also, please don't use any spaces or dashes in the name, and keep them lowercase (lowercase means AVOID USING CAPITAL LETTERS). This makes everything easier to search for, and certain characters cause images to be unusable. Also, use THE FULL NAME OF THE DIGIMON. Not a garble of abbreviations.
- Example: V-mon = Vmon.jpg.
- Example: Metal Garurumon = Metalgarurumon.jpg.

For mode changes and variations, please use the original name followed by an underscore and the name of the mode.
- Example: Dukemon Crimson Mode = Dukemon_crimson.jpg.
- Example: Cherubimon (Virus) = Cherubimon_virus.jpg.
- Example: Guilmon X-Antibody = Guilmonx.jpg or Guilmon_x.jpg.
- Example: Coredramon (Green) = Coredramon_green.jpg.
- Example: Gumdramon (Xros Up Kotemon) = Gumdramon_kotemon.jpg

For multiple images of Digimon with numbers in their names, use an underscore.
- Example: Greymon (2010 Anime Version) = Greymon2010.jpg, Greymon2010_2.jpg

| For image of Digimon with a specific source, such as art made for a video game, use an underscore and then the commonly-used abbreviation for similar images.

| DO NOT upload images containing special characters, as they cause ERRORS within the wiki and are often unusable and cannot be deleted. YOU WILL BE INSTANTLY BANNED FOR BEING THIS STUPID.

| Also, do not upload fanart images into the main articles. Some exceptions can be made for recolors of official artwork, especially when existing images are too low quality.

Screenshots

For the ease of finding images, please have the name of the screenshot begin with the code for that series and episode.
- Example: Digimon Adventure 02, episode 3 screenshot of V-mon = ZT03_01.jpg or ZT03_vmon.

| When uploading an "Episode cap" screenshot, ensure that the image is relevant to the title of the episode and does not have any timestamps or watermarks present. This is to make things consistent.
|
*When uploading an "Episode title cap", please make sure that the title screen clearly displays the kanji/kana and without subtitles to ensure consistency.

| If in doubt, check other pages for already uploaded examples. For the most part, the episode page templates already provide the filenames for you to upload to.

Cards
| CARD IMAGES
|
Card image names should follow the name of the card. This includes proper capitalization. This makes it easier for working with the templates created.

* DO NOT upload images taken from With the Will. They do not allow their images (especially cards) to be shared.
- WtW sometimes allows certain scans to be shared (ex: recent CD scans) if credit is given and links are provided back to the relevant forum thread.

| NOTE: Some of the Alpha Evolve series have similar sets released by Bandai Asia. This can cause some confusion when uploading images.
